I like it, but one practical problem, it will knock over all your drinks if they are on the edge of the table. Maybe it needs a front bumper that detects obstacles and stops all drive, then resumes once the obstacle is removed... TrayRacer 3.0

[MOC] Rocky 42099 B model
rekreK replied to Didumos69's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Finished mine last night, I used whatever parts, so changed a few things including colors, but mostly stock. Model is very solid and initial testing shows it performs well. I would be interested in seeing how far this concept could be taken with the 'b' model shackles removed... Combine the body suspension and articulation with traditional independent suspension in each corner, front and rear steering to create the "ultimate" -

Lockable diffs that can be easily opened would be the best. Like a manual lever either end to lock and open them when needed -

@kbalage when you locked the diffs, the steering was not very good? -

You are not at the limit yet, just the limit of traction on that surface, do it again on a more grippy surface, when it tips over backwards, then you have found it. -

Has anyone done a gear box, just a manual switch or two, where you can select high or low gear -> go fast(as stock) in high, flick gear switch, crawl over anything in low gear. -
Digital all the way for me. Using a 12.9" iPad pro sitting on a stand takes up near zero bench space, allowing for more room to layout pieces and the model. Can also zoom in on any section on the screen. Posture is also improved as I am not hunched over looking at the book, the instructions are at eye level. Build speed is also better as I can advance with a little flick on the screen, not turning a page. When I got 42100 delivered the digital version wasn't available yet, so I used the book for a couple days and it was a hassle, as soon as I got it on the iPad it all became much easier for me.

Why did you do black beams around the tray? I'm planning to do them all in white, just wondering why you went black, when the real one is all white -

Doh, I purchased on rebrickable... -
Woot! Thanks man, I remember seeing that in the review now, but pretty sure I said to myself "It will be fixed before release" so disregarded it.

I have hit an issue in my build, any ideas? I have tried: iPad Pro iPhone X Hub from 42099 Motor from 42099 Different battery packs No motor connected The first hub did a firmware update when I connected for the first time, this one has not prompted me for that.

Oh wow, what a hack, I have been refreshing that link daily, thanks for the heads up, much nicer building from my iPad Pro 12.9, than the book taking up half my space.

Nice, any chance of a parts list so I can get the inventory ready for the instructions?
