  1. Appreciate the feedback! I definitely had some difficulty decided how to do such a large roof. Might have to go back and adjust some of the weathering at some point!
  2. What's the haps, high rollers! I wanted to present to you all my latest project: Goodsprings in LEGO! I've been working on this on-and-off for the last year, and here are my final renders of the project. It comes in at 11,000 bricks and measures 67 x 59 inches. The entirety of the set was designed to be used, so it should be fairly stable alongside fully accessible and game-accurate interiors. Alongside the main minifigure-scale model, a downsized version of the cemetery is included to recreate the scene with the sharpest-looking cat in the wastes alongside the Courier. It will eventually be made in real LEGO bricks, but I'll have to win big at the Tops before that happens. Until then, more designing. I'm currently working on the Lucky 38 next in a similar minifigure scale. It was a blast to design this. Thank you Goodsprings for being such a warm place in my heart. For those of you who love Fallout, there is a real-life location for Goodsprings (I have some pics of it on my insta, @mrbennygecko)! Thank you for looking! The rest of the details and photos are on my flickr! https://www.flickr.com/photos/183181081@N04/
  3. Thank you, Daiman! It was fun to create Appreciate it Mr. Lettuce! Those newer white space tiles really are amazing to work with!
  4. Thank you, I appreciate the compliments! It was a great time trying to use as much as I could out of what little light gray options were available. I appreciate that very much, Jesse! I'm glad you enjoyed it
  5. ------------------------------------------------------------------THE IDEA------------------------------------------------------------------ Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the horizon of all those treacherous dunes on Classic Space box art? Well, heck if I know -- BUT I can ask you a better question: how does one get there? CERTAINLY not with 6mm offset tread wheels mind you! Legend has it, as you progress deeper and deeper into the dunes, the sediment becomes darker and redder. Some believe this is because of a rich resource which lies deep beneath it, some say it leads to treasure, and others may warn that is home to the Insectoids... Personally I think its because I only had so many options to work with for backgrounds -- BUT the answer is up to you! ------------------------------------------------------------------THE CRAWLER------------------------------------------------------------------ Back to the big question, how does one cross those dunes? Well, the nerds over at Classic Space HQ (trans-green edition) have the answer! They came up with the legendary idea of slapping the biggest tires possible on the 6901 Mobile Lab, but then quickly realized the tire itself was far bigger than the lab, so they had to resort to an increased budget. They searched far and wide for whatever traditional light gray pieces they could find and were able to create a behemoth lab crawler ready to challenge the dunes themselves. It is time to discover and research what lies beyond them! The Mobile Lab's crew consists of one captain (red), two explorer scouts (yellow), two miners/analysts (green), two engineers (gray), and two scientists (white). Looks like the explorers found some rocks and gems to take back to study! The top portion opens up to reveal a radar, similar to the orignal set! The entryway is accessible from the engineer bay which holds a mini-mobile lab for scouting. The Captain's child wanted to tag along for fun! The lab also has a detachable net for all the dune loot! The entire lab is accessible with detachable segments. It consists of an engineer's bay with an airlock, a lab section with the radar, gear stash, and research station; a crew's quarters with showers for sandy suits, and finally a control room! Deep within the dunes, there are rare green crystals rather than the common gold. These crystals have been extraordinarily dangerous for the crew and even turned the 2nd-in-command feral. They must find a cure, quickly! One of the scanners in the control room shows something odd --- that CAN'T be, why is there a Blacktron warning on the radar? It must be a bug -- or could there be a secret infiltrator on board trying to steal the mysterious green crystal's power? Surely, things would get dire if Blacktron were to get their hands on those crystals... Lastly, the lab itself can fully detach for long-term research missions. I hope you all enjoyed! If you want to see more photos, feel free to check out the rest on my flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/183181081@N04/albums/72177720323965944/ As always, happy travels earthling!
  6. It has been a lot of fun viewing this contest and all the submissions, but this one in particular is incredibly jaw-dropping for me. I would purchase this so quickly if it were ever a thing... Amazing job with the colors and shaping, and the re-designs for the figures -- INCREDIBLE. You can tell love and soul was put into this remake and it immediately kicks my nostalgia into high gear. Well done!
  7. Ha, love the crossover! Nice design too, especially the wings. Well done!
  8. Love this design, and the playable features. Great build all-around. Voted!
  9. Thanks @Brickshipyard! It was a lot of fun working with those wheels. Glad you like it! Now the true challenge will be finding that the old trans-green dome in a decent condition... Forgot to comment on your post, but I love your Multi Purpose Striker by the way. What a superb build that stays true to the original space police design
  10. So glad to hear you like it @JulianH! Fingers crossed I can finish it in bricks. Yeah, I am totally conflicted with the additional red accents. Didn't look crowded enough without it, but too much with. Will have to see what the difference is in-person when I start building. Thanks for the input!
  11. @Professor Thaum Thank you, Thaum! The miniature version of the mobile lab was fun to build. Looking forward to sharing more photos to you of the build once I'm able to finish it in brick. @Umbra-Manis Ha, I'd hope so, although I think the little one may have difficulty in the dunes... Appreciate the kind words!
  12. The Classic Space Mobile Lab 6901-1 set from 1980 has always been among my favorite classic space sets, so I had to do it justice and try reviving it with some flair. I only have the digital build for now, but I'll finish it in bricks one of these days! The crawler has a full interior and detachable lab area, which I will showcase in brick form once it's finished (just had to design it using old gray, ha!) 13. Wow wow wow, I absolutely love the build. Makes a perfect transport for the old Spyrius robots. Instant Centurion nostalgia too. This is hands down one of my favorite Spyrius MOCs builds out there. I like the way you did the minifigs too. Super sleek and great use of those old windscreen pieces! Would love to see if you made a transporter for the RoboForce series now
  14. Woah, I'm absolutely speechless. I don't think I've ever seen an Assassin's Creed MOC this big. You did an amazing job capturing so much life in your build. And the building techniques -- I can't even. Those sail and flag techniques for the ships are sweet. Well done, this is gorgeous! Props too for finding a location for a proper backdrop for this huge build. Great photography too
