[MOC] MTron magnet container transport buggy
Saint_Miroku replied to LegoMathijs's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Great MOC! I think it's especially cool since this looks like an actual small set, keep up the great work! -
Hi I'm Brickvon and I review old LEGO sets!
Saint_Miroku replied to brickvon's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to Eurobricks! Your review video was very good, if I had one criticism, it would be that the pace of your speech was a bit inconsistent (there were a few kind of notable pauses), but other than that it was great, the editing was very good and the speed build was very well done (I understand that those can be very difficult to do, but you pulled it off flawlessly). I'm really looking forward to seeing your next set review! -

Welcome to the site! It's great to see someone else who's getting back into Lego following some time away from it! -
I'm really looking forward to any sort of new theme, and a "horror" type theme similar to Monster Fighters (that's what I assume this will compared to) sounds right up my alley! A more kind of "digital" ghost hunting type premise sounds... interesting. I honestly can't predict how they'd pull this off, but if they manage to come up with a cool gimmick (maybe they have a bunch of different monsters and each monster set is in a different looking locale, like swamps, deep forests, abandoned hospitals, and etc) it could be very impressive.

Licensed Themes VS Original Themes
Saint_Miroku replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I like both, but personally, I love original themes. The original themes are less predictable than licensed themes (sense licensed models have to be based on stuff from the source material). Original themes also allow for more unique ideas that you wouldn't see in movies or anything like that, like underground mining with monsters (Power Miners and Rock Raiders), a retro style alien invasion (Alien Invasion), or even things that are inspired by various pop culture genres (Agents with Spy fiction and Exo-Force with Anime and Manga). Licensed themes have some great models, parts, and minifigures (and they're very profitable), but the Original themes I feel are a lot more creative overall (the non original themes can have creative builds for example). -
I think that if we hypothetically had a new Racers theme that Lego went all in for, I assume there would wither be a TV show (like Ninjago, Chima, and Nexo Knights) or at least a web based series of shorts (like Friends, Elves, or even Power Miners to a degree). This would necessitate creating characters for these sets, since stories and plots can't really exist without characters. When it comes to this story, I would assume that they'd make a few characters similar to the ones in Power Miners or Agents 2.0, in which they really only have appearances that stand out and basic personalities but they don't change like the characters in something like Ninjago do. Either each year or each wave (depending) would likely involve them racing around in a different location to justify changing up the vehicles, and maybe the story could be based around these characters (who are all of the best drivers in the world) racing in a series of tournaments around the globe competing for a massive prize pool given by an eccentric multi-billionaire (basically, it would be like World Racers but more well thought out and with named characters). I would imagine that the sets would kind of be half way in between the very realistic cars seen in Speed Champions and the more over the top vehicles seen in some earlier racers themes. The main thing about the sets I think is that they would have subtle modifications for combat and going off road (again this is like the World Racers theme, except more well thought out and well... subtle). I don't know if this would work, but it's what I came up with.

This display is absolutely incredible! The coral is really beautiful to look at, and I love the multiple tiers and layers too. Keep up the fantastic work!

[MOC] Blacktron Message Decryption and Processing Post
Saint_Miroku replied to CP5670's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I love all of the shapes used on the buildings, it really makes the buildings stand out from the base plate! I'm sure that Blacktron is gonna be making a killing selling off whatever information they can decrypt... Keep up the good work! -
Great MOC! I especially like the sleek look of this Mech, it's very refreshing (especially when compared to the official Lego Models that use Mech style designs).

Don't mind me, just experimenting with a picture upload (I hope this works...). Will this work? Yeah, I don't have much less to test with. -
Fantastic work! I especially like the little details like the pattern of the bricks, the vegetables hiding in a barrel in the background, and the yellow wedge pieces to act as cheese. The idea is also really awesome as well (monks did often run breweries and made cheese and such).

I don't have that set, but I'm really curious to know what it would look like under UV too. I honestly never thought to use UV on bricks before (besides the glow in the dark pieces like the newer ghosts and such), so now I'm very tempted to try it out on different bricks that I have to see how it looks.

Hello Raystafarian, it's great to see someone else who recently rediscovered the hobby!

Hello, I'm Saint_Miroku and I just registered for this site earlier today. I'm an Anime and Manga Fan as well as a Fan Fiction Writer who also happens to be huge into Lego (obviously). I was always into Lego as a kid, and I was especially into G1 Bionicle mainly for the story (though the sets were fantastic too), seriously, Bionicle was one of the stories that got me into writing in the first place (along with Lord of the Rings and Star Wars), so thanks Greg! I was also very interested in Lego Star Wars, Castle, pirates, and Power Miners as well. Unfortunately, around late 2010 - 2011, I ended up in my "Dark Age" and got out of Lego (I foolishly got rid of my old pieces and sets as well), and I would very gradually get back into it over the years. It started in 2013 when I started feeling very nostalgic for Bionicle again and I started looking up the old commercials and reading up on the story again (which I promptly fell in love with all over again). Then around 2015 I started to get back into Lego System as well through people like TTV, Jang Bricks, and Just2good. Around that time got some small sets (plus one of the G2 Bionicle sets and that Hover Tank from the Rouge One wave) but I still didn't fully get back into the hobby until last year, and that eventually led me to this forum. My favorite themes include Bionicle G1, Castle, Pirates (it's a goal of mine to eventually own a Lego Pirate ship besides the Ship in a Bottle), and Power Miners. I also have a strange obsession with flying Lego sets for some reason (maybe it's the fact that I was born in an Airforce Hospital and spent my earliest years in Base Housing, I'm not sure). Planes, Jets, Dragons, and smaller Space Ships, I just really have a thing for the "Swooshable" Lego sets, so if I ever start trying to make MOCs (I can't promise much, but I'll try), they'll probably all be fliers.
