If I've learned anything from my favorite movie hero Megatron, it is totally OK to directly kill a ton of innocent people if you're reasonably confident some corrupt people will be probably killed as well. After all, those corrupt people might be hurting innocent people, and we just can't have that. To be fair the Alien Conquest aliens weren't very interested in diplomacy. Would Galaxy Squad fit in as sort of a parallel military to Classic Space, or do they not count as Space characters since they're part of the Monster Fighters/Galaxy Squad/Ultra Agents trilogy?

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
First of all the mando based one is splitting hairs- clones and a BARC comprise the majority of the set. It's also two of the three sets that year that could reasonably be considered battle packs, which is the area where clones have been dominating the set slots the most. But yes, as a wider point 2024 wasn't as bad, probably due to lego wanting to make sets to tie in to RTG- which is why I directly said they were doubling down this year. If a brick built slug mount is included and the price doesn't seem ludacris I might purchase one before waiting for discounts. One of my favorite bits from ROTS is that many of the order 66 scenes have clone vehicles we didn't see anywhere else (UT-AT, AT-OT, Turbo Tank, and if I remember correctly Barcs and AT-RTs) and then on Felucia, we get the obligatory new vehicle with the AT-OT but then also just these slug dudes the clones are riding around with zero in universe explanation. It's very funny but also kind of works from a lore perspective. Agreed, they are very chill guys. No, I don't think I've ever made that argument. I don't think I've ever implied lego "hates" other fans, they're just overreacting to a subset of the fans' requests. Same with the buildables- they don't "hate" anyone who isn't in the assumed target market of "adults who don't normally buy lego", I just think they're severely misjudging the market. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Apparently. The only sets that aren't based on specific movies or shows appear to be the 4+ ones. Goes without saying that this occupies the majority of the engineering of the batcave. Also, didn't some people say the 4+ freeze figure resembled Schumacher Freeze? I think it turned out to look more like a Hot Wheels design (Great job to those figure designers by the way, assumably google searching "mr freze cool" and stumbling on that random design), but if it resembled it closely enough for people to think it was him, I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in the batcave. My thoughts for the Batcave fig count, actually: Batman (new torso with the nipples), Batgirl (new torso, re-using head from the 4+ set), Alfred (from the Shadow Box), Mr. Freeze (from the 4+ set), Two-Face (re-used head from the TDK set, new torso). -

Skeleton Crew is PERFECT material for 4+ sets. Put out a couple cheap sets with the bike and some basic backgrounds of their houses. That's an interesting trend to point out- I'm not entirely sure I like it. For things like the AT-ST where we get so many, I'm not as bothered, but I'm not a fan of it for situations where it's been so long since the last version. This is fair- the prequels and TCW are more or less interchangeable when it comes to clone/clone vehicle sets. At most the only differences are the specific color scheme and a few of the figures. You have a lot more faith in LAN than I do. I know this horse has been beaten to death, reanimated, and beaten to death again, but it really would be nice if the midi scale ships came with a figure. Just one figure each. As it is, it feels like lego for some reason thinks adults won't buy sets with minifigures? Like the minifigures would make adults think the sets are for kids? No, even funnier, the last time they used it was the 2023 advent calendar. As funny as that would be I think I unironically would prefer clones, if just for no other reason that there's so many good set options for rogue one and I know that the second we get A rogue one set it's gonna be over for them for another decade. No, because the Clone bros keep getting everything they want and keep finding new ways to say lego actually secretly hates them and the clone/clone sets all have critical flaws (and yet still buy a billion copies of them all). If lego hadn't just doubled down and went "you know what? All the system sets are clones now." I wouldn't be complaining. -

Allegedly the MTT is in the clone wars color scheme. Though you do have a good point that a chunk of the sets this wave either are or have the potential to be ROTS based. Ironically, this is similar to the Outer Rim Sieges wave from 2014 I was talking about- I don't dislike the concept, but as the sets are all just vehicles for clones, and it's pretty much all we're getting rather than just part of a year that also included Hoth sets, Mos Eisley, and a Star Destroyer, I'm not giving them a pass. Sure, but it's been over a decade. I'm not opposed to getting more obscure stuff, but when it's been this long since the last one I'd prefer the more iconic versions. Especially since I would put money down that the CIS color scheme is so they can include clone troopers. -
What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Mandalorianknight replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
"Why do people like star wars' "I like star wars" "How dare you like star wars I think it's bad" Why did you ask people why they like the theme if you're just going to tell them how much you hate it when they tell you why? Also, while I have plenty of issues with the sequel trilogy, many of the ones you mentioned are also issues with the legends continuity, Lucas's trilogy ideas, and/or just the idea of sequels in general. Palpatine returns in legends, which "makes Anakin's sacrifice meaningless" (I do agree he shouldn't have returned in a corporeal form, but this isn't some sort of unique disney evil). Rey never even meets Yoda, and while she may learn too fast, she doesn't really display any "overpowered super saiyan powers" or force powers beyond what we saw in the original and prequel trilogies. She, what, moves some rocks? Redirects lightning (with a ton of force ghosts backing her up, I'd point out)? And Lucas's "vision" for his sequel trilogy not only has had the entire concept change (suspicious for a trilogy planned for almost 50 years), but neither concept he's talked about sounds GOOD. One of them had the main villains be Maul back again and Darth Talon (Which doesn't even make sense from a timeline perspective but George has his... attractions), and the other one had them shrinking down ant man style to fight the midichlorians. I bow to the master. I saw online that it was $40 at Costco locations (And the advent calendar was SEVEN DOLLARS), but by the time I got to a costco, there were no lego sets present. -

I think it's funnier if every RTG set is "evil *vehicle name*" regardless of alignment, but I like the idea that what makes the clone turbo tank evil is that it's small. (Also fits with the $50 price point). Honestly I don't get why the MTT isn't brown. Not only are brown MTTs so much more iconic, but they are present in the general clone wars era. (You know what? Just make the set battlefront 2017 based, then you can even throw in another new clone legion.) Yeah. I'd say this wave is worse, because it cements the lack of variety and bimodal approach to sets (50% clone based system sets, 50% 18+ gimmick sets), but nothing is going to beat the shock upon hearing the words "jedi bob's starfighter" or "evil millennium falcon" -

You've accurately predicted too many things already. Don't bring this down upon us. We've had $40 pseudo battle-packs before with 4 minifigures, some with some droids too, some without. I would bet money that this set only includes four clone troopers. You're correct, of course. How could I be so biased against the prequels? That is, after all, what motivates all lego designers' decisions- hatred of the prequels, clone troopers, and specifically fans of content featuring clones. This has been well-established. (I do kind of feel bad for prequel movie fans catching strays when the majority of prequel sets released are TCW based) I actually am surprised they never did a clone helmet with spare parts for legion markings. It's something I would have bought a few years ago, before the clones attacked. Yes! Exactly! These guys were my main skins in battlefront 2017. Just a few years ago I'd have been over the moon to get a 327th battle pack. Nowadays, it's "I'll pick one up if they hit a solid discount". Ah, so it's an Eeeeeeevil turbo tank. -
"The Batcave is Schumacher-based" is Bat-Latin for "The aslume is real" No, no remove the /S, I think this is legitimately something to hope for. Not only because it would be really funny, but because if we get Schumacher Robin, we will not see another robin for at least 5 years or until the theme dies/is folded into icons, whichever comes last.

DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Except most of the people he targeted weren't innocent. That's still evil- you can't go around assassinating and committing terrorist attacks because people are corrupt- but it's weird that the final stage of his plan "kill the corrupt people" is "flood the entire city and murder a mayoral candidate where I have no evidence of them being corrupt". The 4chan private army is also weird, and while @psqidexslizer says, has all the subtlety of a jackhammer, is an absurd escalation, much like the decision to just flood the city. It's driving stakes and giving batman people to punch but it doesn't really fit with Riddler's motivation or his actions until that point. The first two acts of the movie are really solid, but the third act is so weirdly disconnected with all this stuff. It feels like the writers were worried people would identify with Riddler, and so because god forbid we have depth in a villain and understand that someone can do terrible things and be objectively in the wrong despite having positive end goals, they decided to just turn him into a mustache-twirler at the end, give him joker-like dialogue with batman, and then go "oh joker's actually here too, because god forbid he or Harley be excluded from even the smallest batman project" YES EXACTLY! Why is he so upset? Batman stopped the one politician (who again wasn't even corrupt)'s death. This happened before- Bruce Wayne wasn't killed- and riddler pretty much just shrugs it off. Riddler's wider plan works. If our first robin in half a decade is Schumacher Robin I will lose my mind. Also true, Arkham arguably SHOULDN'T be colorful. -

I gotta be honest with you, I agree with most of this, but if they'd gone all-in and made the other mayoral candidate corrupt too, I would have liked that twist, really pitting Batman against the world. As-is, it feels weird that Riddler manages to get just about everybody by himself, but then decides to have his very subtle message 4chan private army attempt to assassinate the one politician in Gotham who isn't corrupt. To be fair, anime is massively popular, and from what I've heard One Piece is one of the more popular animes. DC is not doing very well right now. I can understand why they don't want to risk it on a movie that may or may not suceed. It's days like today I'm glad one of our emoticons is . Not only are all star wars sets clone troopers, but the only system batman set this summer is... schumacher. The end times are truly upon us. If the movie does avengers numbers, maybe. The trailer looks fine. It doesn't seem to be actively trying to "modernize" or "deconstruct' superman, so I begrudgingly do have to give it some points even though I don't like how Gunn lied to Henry Cavill. I do think it's possible it could do avengers numbers if it ends up being a Top Gun Maverick style Return of the Theatres film with awe-inspiring staying power at the box office. -

Exactly. I'm not even a big sequel guy- and I'm also not saying that we should have a 1:1 ratio of prequel to sequel sets- but this year's set list reads like a parody of my concerns last year. I'm not sure I like being right about predicting these downward trends. If rubber capes start showing up in this theme I'm marching on Billund. Holy cow he's back. I doubt we get a clone gunship in 2025- putting aside that we got one in a slightly different color scheme in 2023, we just got the UT-AT leaked as a large republic vehicle- BUT I could see a 4+ clone gunship. -

*Opens forum -was complaining about too many clone sets, specifically battle packs, and the prices -another clone battle pack -overpriced clone turbo tank AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Exactly. Though honestly given the recent leaks and how few system sets we're getting this year, YES, I do think there's too many prequel sets in general, at least this year. Same- I'm going to start setting some money aside now, that sounds like a really neat set to me. Arguably we had three in 2021, but it depends on whether or not that year's R2-D2 counts. -

I think part of what you're missing is that it's not strictly that we get clone sets, it's the proportion of set slots clone sets take up. IIRC I looked into it back in 2023 and they were something like 50% of battle pack or battle pack adjacent sets, and note that the number of clone sets has stayed roughly the same according to you as the number of system sets nosedives. Also this is a total sidenote but I've never had an issue with lego recycling the classics every 3-4 years. I do think an X-wing, TIE, Falcon, Jedi Starfighter, and yes, Snowspeeder should almost always be on shelves. Landspeeder not as much the vehicle itself, but the idea that it's a cheap way to get Luke, the droids, and old ben. Sure, but we've had plenty of sets depicting scenes that end with a character included dying, losing a limb, and/or burning alive. The only concern I'd have with this is that you couldn't really get a full interior- more like a quarter sphere- because of how much of it's under construction and therefore not shelled off. I think a hanger bay would be fine to fit something like a TIE fighter, though I agree something like the Lambda or Falcon would require too much space. -

I feel like everytime I interact with you on here it's to tell you your dreams are unrealistic, but in my defense... this is pretty unrealistic. The only ones I could see happening are the quinjet. (And the sentinal, but double the price and replace Jean with a character from the X-jet) -

Seriously. I don't think it's a bad movie by any means, but people act like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread and it's really not. It's fine. It's a solid interpretation of a leagueless, grounded Batman but it doesn't come close to the Nolan trilogy. I could go more into the plot and character issues I have with it, but TLDR is "yeah it's fine, it's weird to me that everyone says it's the best thing ever made" I would like this idea, but somebody else mentioned that the JSA might just be a way for Gunn to get in his guardians/suicide squad, and now I can't unsee that fear. "Just because you think it's bad doesn't mean it's good" (Because I like it) - The Jonkler. -

^^^ Gunn has a formula that you can honestly stretch all the way back to scooby-doo if you want to get a bit loose with it. (Guardians/TSS/Peacemaker/Creature Commandos are a lot more similar to eachother though). Superman appears to be breaking the mold at least a little- while we still have the cutesy animal sidekick and I'd put money down on superman having at least somewhat of an adversial relationship with his biological father, the film doesn't appear to be starring a group of morally ambiguous outlaws- I doubt he'd turn around and kill off Krypto. Honestly for this specifically, I get why lego's waiting to see how it turns out. Superhero movies have been stumbling a lot recently, and it makes sense to me that they'd want to make sure it really IS a royal flush before tying in. Doesn't mean they couldn't give us some comic-based superman stuff, though. At the very least, through leaguers into bat-vehicle sets. -
I've long since given up on BL making positive changes. Starting with Lego buying them, which I was never a fan of, we've had them decide to remove many of the separate listings for different versions of parts, the UI changes, etc. I still use it because it's what I've got my store set up on, but if a real rival ever pops up, I'd certainly look into moving to it. Based and same.
