  1. These surprise me the most- they're right in that nostalgia for middle aged men catagory, and lego's usually heavy on that. I actually have the leaked plans for the DC CMF 2: 1. Batman (blue and LBG suit with the yellow oval logo): walkie-talkie 2. Batman (all-black suit with yellow oval logo): Batarang 3. Batman (blue and DBG suit with black bat logo): grappling hook 4. Joker (Dark Purple suit with TCW Dooku hair in green): megaphone with "bang" flag 5. Joker (medium lavender suit with tarkin hair in lime): revolver 6. Joker (arkham jumpsuit, TCW Anakin hair in green): handcuffs 7. Harley Quinn (red/black jester outfit): buildable hammer 8. Harley Quinn (red/black biker style outfit, blond hair with pink and azure dyed ends): buildable hammer 9. Harley Quinn (red/blue corset, red/blue dyed hair): Buildable hammer 10. Mr. Freeze (sand blue suit with mysterio helmet): Buildable freeze gun 11. Batgirl (LBG suit with Gamora hair and mask): Batarang 12. Penguin (Black suit, light nougat skin tone, old top hat): 1x2 tile with $100 bill pattern.
  2. You boldly assume they won't just put the same wolverine figure in sets for five years.
  3. Batgirl having no relation to batman is really, really funny. Oh, my bad, I blacked out and woke up in a different country again last night, that might have been me suiting up as Khonshu's Mando Knight once more. Eagerly awaiting Christmas day for my new pipe bomb. Beautiful. It's him. It's Man.
  4. Thank you! I was inspired by the old channel "Brickbros UK", the guys who ended up making the Tron set and then disappearing :(. They used to be really good at making alternate builds that increased the footprint of a set. Thank you! I agree, the dropship is very compact. Thank you! I thought it would be fun to give it a canon backstory, but with a wheeled vehicle in star wars, I added a bit of comical flair- here it's spoofing some old spy tropes.
  5. UCS Kyle Rayner's fridge. No figures are included.
  6. Ah, so it's the second one, they're all dead and Batman decided to send Barbara to school so she can learn how to not die like all the robins did. Not that sinestro, the paragon of fear, is not also an issue here, but Dexstarr is a CAT, Hal. How are you worse here than in the comics? Did santa dummy send me the death threats or the pipe bomb? He really needs to sign his gifts, Blactron's assassins were very cordial with their poisoned christmas cookies.
  7. I mean so would I but you've seen this wave.
  8. I'm surprised no one's brought up that most of the droids could be B2s. We've seen blue/grey colored MTTs deploy them and it would explain why it's a smaller number. My guess is the set's going to be something like: 8 b2s, 2 B1 pilots, 1 tactical droid, 2 clone troopers.
  9. I don't hate the 2019 or 2017 models, but I have to agree that the 06 one is the best.
  10. Batman was cursed with the obscure superhero condition "XY chromosomes" and therefore barred from joining the subline. Flash sneaking in ended the theme. I like the idea of Blacktron as this threat that just keeps re-emerging no matter how many times different hero factions defeat it over the centuries. I never watched the show, partially because I didn't realize it was it's own show and thought it was just a lego thing, but do they give a lore reason for the general setup of the theme? Are the robins also at the academy and just background characters, or is it therefore implied by omission that batman's run out of robins and has realized he should probably send his next protege to a school instead of directly putting twelve year olds in front of enemy fire? For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little subtheme, but now, you shall witness... it's DISASSEMBLY!
  11. I'd submit the argument that at $50 for 341 pieces, the turbo tank would have to have like 8 minifigs to be "worth it" The previous MTTs also came with very few minifigures- while lego doesn't count B1s as full minifigs, I think they certainly count them as figures in some capacity. I don't think it'd be impossible- especially if those figs are, say, ARC Jesse and republic crosshair - they know they'd get sales... Ouch, that's really aggravating- check the parts list- I wonder if it's intentional or if they've mixed up the trans-brown/black colors. Over the past two decades or so since the last UCS AT-ST, sets now contain a dramatically larger amount of significantly smaller pieces- I wouldn't say the larger piece count is evidence against it being a straight remake. Though I wouldn't say no to a new bunker...
  12. Hot take: Batman forever is less enjoyable than Batman and Robin. Batman and Robin is overwhelmingly, comically bad, to the extent that it's hilarious, but Batman forever's just... bad. It's not BORING, like some other bad films, but it's neither a good movie nor is it comically bad, so it's just kind of... there.
  13. But toy commercials in the 90s. I don't know how many kids these days are big fans of the Schumacher films as opposed to modern glorified toy commercials. Those movies aren't exactly shining examples of staying power. This is actually canonically how ninjago ranges are decided. There's a six-sided die with each ninja's name on it, a second die with some price ranges, and a third one with mech/jet/car/motorcycle/combo vehicle/dragon. If the die gets stuck on an edge or something we get a villain themed set or a temple respectively. THE DIE IS CAST
  14. Yes, exactly. Also note the lack of an anniversary label. While it seems ROTS will have the most representation for an anniversary of any recent film anniversary, the sets are all just "ways to get clones" rather than great representations of the film itself. (I'm also salty that my prediction of the May 2025 UCS being Anakin's ETA-2 never came to pass) I'm sure many of them do like ROTS, but yes, I can imagine the firestorm that would occur if the august wave wasn't full of clone sets and was instead something like a senate duel and/or mustafar set. I mean we already had complaints when we only knew about the ARC-170 in terms of 2025 ROTS sets. I'd completely missed the connection that the Kylo helmet and shuttle were probably TFA anniversary tie-ins. But yes, I agree anything for Rogue One is unlikely, especially with the fact that Andor's getting some attention this year. I suppose a midi-scale krennic's shuttle and/or death trooper helmet are possible.
  15. With this, I tried to make more of a Speed Champions/city styled set rather than a star wars one. But I of course still want it to fit into canon! So here's the storyline here: Luthen Rael, as one of his facades to launder money to the rebellion, owns a Neskar racing team- similar to podracing or riot racing, Neskar racing is based on an ancient, pre-repulsorlift motorsport. However, something's gone wrong. The Imperials, Crimson Dawn, and the Hutts are all attempting their own intrigues into the newest Neskar racing season, and as such Luthen Rael has inserted his man, Cassian Andor, into the race under the guise of being his new driver. Cassian must uncover and foil the myraid plots at work, and if he's lucky, win the race to net some extra money to funnel to the rebels. Will he be able to pull it off? Here's an overview of the set. The main build is the racer, built like a Speed Champions car, with a garage facade and small crew transport also included. Let's take a closer look at that racer: This is the Neskar racing vehicle Luthen sponsers- while it uses the archiac concept of wheels as part of the tradition, it includes some innovations such as retractable blasters to distract or knock back other racers. This sort of vehicle also includes a rear-focused deflector shield to block hits from racers behind it. It rolls very well for something built from a set without wheels (and barely containing axles- these aren't even all attached the same way!), though I confess even without the blasters it still has a very sci-fi feel. Here's a quick look at the internal controls and seat, as well as the blasters in their retracted position and the spoiler lowered. Alright, here's the left side of the garage. On the left, we have the crew transport in it's fueling dock (attached via a technic pin). The vehicle itself is somewhat basic, but it fits a crewman and driver. In the middle we have the fueling cell, with a line for the fueling pump (shown above with a crewman pumping fuel into the racer). We also have a (non-sliding) door through which Luthen is entering to meet with Andor. Here is the central section. On the upper left, we have the support crane, currently lowering a spare fuel canister to the ground floor. The bulk of the central section is simply an archway through which the racer can be driven. (It can fit through in either mode although it's recommended to lower the spoiler to increase clearance. Note that on the right wing of the garage there is a hinged step to allow for someone to step from the wing to the central segment's roof. The hinge allows the step to fold up if a kid wants to hinge the wings and central section into a straight line. Here's the right wing all folded up. For now we'll just focus on the center, which has a set of dials and readouts to monitor, a removable plate with some chemical barrels, a crate, and fire suppressant, and above it a tool rack (Containing a click wrench, welding tool, crescent wrench, and breaker bar). Alright- on the left side we can now see that the panel can be opened to reveal a hidden stash of weapons (A blaster pistol, riot shield, and two halves of an electrostaff), and on the right, we've extended the retractable stairs to allow access to the upper level. And finally, here are our figures. On the left we have Vern Lojek, the maintenance chief for Luthen's crew. He isn't part of the rebellion, but a personal friend of Luthen's who knows enough to not ask questions about his new pilot. Next we have Cassian Andor in a Neskar driver's outfit (which bears some similarities to a brightened Corpo uniform). And on the right is Luthen Rael, the sponsor of the racer and a leader in the nascent rebellion.
  16. If I've learned anything from my favorite movie hero Megatron, it is totally OK to directly kill a ton of innocent people if you're reasonably confident some corrupt people will be probably killed as well. After all, those corrupt people might be hurting innocent people, and we just can't have that. To be fair the Alien Conquest aliens weren't very interested in diplomacy. Would Galaxy Squad fit in as sort of a parallel military to Classic Space, or do they not count as Space characters since they're part of the Monster Fighters/Galaxy Squad/Ultra Agents trilogy?
  17. First of all the mando based one is splitting hairs- clones and a BARC comprise the majority of the set. It's also two of the three sets that year that could reasonably be considered battle packs, which is the area where clones have been dominating the set slots the most. But yes, as a wider point 2024 wasn't as bad, probably due to lego wanting to make sets to tie in to RTG- which is why I directly said they were doubling down this year. If a brick built slug mount is included and the price doesn't seem ludacris I might purchase one before waiting for discounts. One of my favorite bits from ROTS is that many of the order 66 scenes have clone vehicles we didn't see anywhere else (UT-AT, AT-OT, Turbo Tank, and if I remember correctly Barcs and AT-RTs) and then on Felucia, we get the obligatory new vehicle with the AT-OT but then also just these slug dudes the clones are riding around with zero in universe explanation. It's very funny but also kind of works from a lore perspective. Agreed, they are very chill guys. No, I don't think I've ever made that argument. I don't think I've ever implied lego "hates" other fans, they're just overreacting to a subset of the fans' requests. Same with the buildables- they don't "hate" anyone who isn't in the assumed target market of "adults who don't normally buy lego", I just think they're severely misjudging the market.
  18. Apparently. The only sets that aren't based on specific movies or shows appear to be the 4+ ones. Goes without saying that this occupies the majority of the engineering of the batcave. Also, didn't some people say the 4+ freeze figure resembled Schumacher Freeze? I think it turned out to look more like a Hot Wheels design (Great job to those figure designers by the way, assumably google searching "mr freze cool" and stumbling on that random design), but if it resembled it closely enough for people to think it was him, I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in the batcave. My thoughts for the Batcave fig count, actually: Batman (new torso with the nipples), Batgirl (new torso, re-using head from the 4+ set), Alfred (from the Shadow Box), Mr. Freeze (from the 4+ set), Two-Face (re-used head from the TDK set, new torso).
  19. If Arkham drops the ball as spectacularly as I imagine it will, you'll probably get this after all between that, the Schumacher Batcave, and the august wave for the Clone Troopers theme.
  20. Skeleton Crew is PERFECT material for 4+ sets. Put out a couple cheap sets with the bike and some basic backgrounds of their houses. That's an interesting trend to point out- I'm not entirely sure I like it. For things like the AT-ST where we get so many, I'm not as bothered, but I'm not a fan of it for situations where it's been so long since the last version. This is fair- the prequels and TCW are more or less interchangeable when it comes to clone/clone vehicle sets. At most the only differences are the specific color scheme and a few of the figures. You have a lot more faith in LAN than I do. I know this horse has been beaten to death, reanimated, and beaten to death again, but it really would be nice if the midi scale ships came with a figure. Just one figure each. As it is, it feels like lego for some reason thinks adults won't buy sets with minifigures? Like the minifigures would make adults think the sets are for kids? No, even funnier, the last time they used it was the 2023 advent calendar. As funny as that would be I think I unironically would prefer clones, if just for no other reason that there's so many good set options for rogue one and I know that the second we get A rogue one set it's gonna be over for them for another decade. No, because the Clone bros keep getting everything they want and keep finding new ways to say lego actually secretly hates them and the clone/clone sets all have critical flaws (and yet still buy a billion copies of them all). If lego hadn't just doubled down and went "you know what? All the system sets are clones now." I wouldn't be complaining.
  21. Allegedly the MTT is in the clone wars color scheme. Though you do have a good point that a chunk of the sets this wave either are or have the potential to be ROTS based. Ironically, this is similar to the Outer Rim Sieges wave from 2014 I was talking about- I don't dislike the concept, but as the sets are all just vehicles for clones, and it's pretty much all we're getting rather than just part of a year that also included Hoth sets, Mos Eisley, and a Star Destroyer, I'm not giving them a pass. Sure, but it's been over a decade. I'm not opposed to getting more obscure stuff, but when it's been this long since the last one I'd prefer the more iconic versions. Especially since I would put money down that the CIS color scheme is so they can include clone troopers.
  22. "Why do people like star wars' "I like star wars" "How dare you like star wars I think it's bad" Why did you ask people why they like the theme if you're just going to tell them how much you hate it when they tell you why? Also, while I have plenty of issues with the sequel trilogy, many of the ones you mentioned are also issues with the legends continuity, Lucas's trilogy ideas, and/or just the idea of sequels in general. Palpatine returns in legends, which "makes Anakin's sacrifice meaningless" (I do agree he shouldn't have returned in a corporeal form, but this isn't some sort of unique disney evil). Rey never even meets Yoda, and while she may learn too fast, she doesn't really display any "overpowered super saiyan powers" or force powers beyond what we saw in the original and prequel trilogies. She, what, moves some rocks? Redirects lightning (with a ton of force ghosts backing her up, I'd point out)? And Lucas's "vision" for his sequel trilogy not only has had the entire concept change (suspicious for a trilogy planned for almost 50 years), but neither concept he's talked about sounds GOOD. One of them had the main villains be Maul back again and Darth Talon (Which doesn't even make sense from a timeline perspective but George has his... attractions), and the other one had them shrinking down ant man style to fight the midichlorians. I bow to the master. I saw online that it was $40 at Costco locations (And the advent calendar was SEVEN DOLLARS), but by the time I got to a costco, there were no lego sets present.
  23. I think it's funnier if every RTG set is "evil *vehicle name*" regardless of alignment, but I like the idea that what makes the clone turbo tank evil is that it's small. (Also fits with the $50 price point). Honestly I don't get why the MTT isn't brown. Not only are brown MTTs so much more iconic, but they are present in the general clone wars era. (You know what? Just make the set battlefront 2017 based, then you can even throw in another new clone legion.) Yeah. I'd say this wave is worse, because it cements the lack of variety and bimodal approach to sets (50% clone based system sets, 50% 18+ gimmick sets), but nothing is going to beat the shock upon hearing the words "jedi bob's starfighter" or "evil millennium falcon"
  24. What are the other 6? Me too, man. I was very excited for the Endor Bunker that never came to pass.
  25. You've accurately predicted too many things already. Don't bring this down upon us. We've had $40 pseudo battle-packs before with 4 minifigures, some with some droids too, some without. I would bet money that this set only includes four clone troopers. You're correct, of course. How could I be so biased against the prequels? That is, after all, what motivates all lego designers' decisions- hatred of the prequels, clone troopers, and specifically fans of content featuring clones. This has been well-established. (I do kind of feel bad for prequel movie fans catching strays when the majority of prequel sets released are TCW based) I actually am surprised they never did a clone helmet with spare parts for legion markings. It's something I would have bought a few years ago, before the clones attacked. Yes! Exactly! These guys were my main skins in battlefront 2017. Just a few years ago I'd have been over the moon to get a 327th battle pack. Nowadays, it's "I'll pick one up if they hit a solid discount". Ah, so it's an Eeeeeeevil turbo tank.
