It was a commandment not only of our religion but of our whole society, built out of the last great war. "Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of the human mind." Every civilization, our very universe was predicated upon preventing such an eventuality. Only Ultron didn't come from our universe.... The whole Dune universe is based off some great machine apocalypse of the past... an age of ultron, essentially, leading to AI being outlawed and the very low-tech future of that franchise. So my entry's based on the idea that Ultron's found a new universe, one that's very nature is predisposed to being petrified of him, and has come to conquer it. Doctor Strange contacts Paul Atreides, and after outfitting heroes with Fremen stillsuits and armor to survive the desert, Paul uses his gift of prophecy to ambush Ultron as shown here. Around the back, as a joke, I've got some of the Dune characters taking up marvel heroes' costumes. The Duncverine, Gurnisher, and Moon Knight, Fist of Liet. The whole thin fits on that 16x16 base with the minimal overhang of the corner stud bumps.

Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

Sure- I thought it was weird too with the F4. At the end of the day the reason I don't like White Widow or USAgent more than Yelena or John is just because I don't think White Widow's name makes any sense for the MCU character, and I just don't like John's codename. For codenames, I'd prefer if Yelena was just the new Black Widow, taking up her sister's legacy, and if John took the mantle of Nomad (because his government failed him twice) or Patriot (as a captain america type who can't be cap himself) So it's about the same as america, where the price is nearly doubled from 4 generic minifigures. It would be too big, but the same is generally true of Hulk bigfigs. Since lego has never been super size-accurate, I'd prefer a bigfig to a normal fig, especially since, as you say, there isn't much of an in-between. How did lego turn Felicity Jones's face into a "default woman" print? It's almost impressive. It rivals Paul Rudd having the same face as Tom Holland. -

How much do normal construction figures go for in Canada? Yeah... that's a tough compromise, but I think you're right that it's the best that can be done to get a larger Thing. Hopefully now that they've joined the MCU we can get a nice comic set with a bigfig Thing and accurate versions of the four. Could work for Trenchcoat Ben. -

I'd go even further- the theme won't end, we'll just stop seeing sets. The lego DC page will still be up in the shop for a 4+ set we'll get every five years or so. The superheroes theme is shared, DC will just no longer receive any of the budget. -

Not in terms of that, though between the dialect coach's statements about the Ghor language being based on french phonetics, and the showrunner's statements about it being meant to represent Nazi-occupied france, it's clear things like Syril's beret aren't coincidences. Sort of like the scotland planet from season 1. As I've said, it's one of my issues with the show- I think especially for a show aimed at adults, we can afford to be a bit more subtle than having the space nazis occupy the France planet- but overall still a good show that won't get much more lego representation. To be fair that's been established since A New Hope. Do. Not. Give. Them. Any. Ideas. Lest 1HY 2026 be entirely comprised of buildable Kel Dor masks and artifacts from Aldhani. -

Personally I count the 332nd one as BP3, but BPs2 and 3 are almost retired, and it won't be long before that $30 set with two 501st troopers also retires! If lego doesn't replace it and make sure we have AT LEAST 3 sub-$30 sets with 501st clones on shelves at all times, it means they hate clones and want the clone sets to fail! Alright, that came off a bit bitey, but if we're looking for places for the Bacara helmet a pack of the battlefront 2 classes wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. So long as 2026 overall has a more varied lineup content wise. I don't think that really works. Black series making a mistake doesn't discount the idea that if you're striving for very close accuracy lego minifigures are not and never have been the correct place to go. (For one thing, the proportions aren't even close to accurate human ones). It's like saying that because your local burger restaurant messed up your order, you should be upset that mcdonalds doesn't garnish their fries. The two establishments- the two toylines- don't have the same priorities, exact manufacturing and detailing processes, etc. Lego definitely makes errors but half the time when they release a clone- and ONLY when it comes to clone troopers- people act like they want 2inch tall Hot Toys figures. At the end of the day while lego can always do better- things like light color printing not taking to dark plastic, for example- at a certain point people are just expecting a level of accuracy that lego isn't meant for. These guys have trapezoids for torsos and rectangular legs with no knee or elbow joints. I feel like there's no conceivable scenario in which you shouldn't expect a $20-30 black series figure to have a higher degree of accuracy than the (believed to cost about $3 to produce) minifigures included with building sets. AT-AT I have gotten a good deal farther in Andor and I do think it's overall not much of a step down from the first season. I do get annoyed by all the props and set dressing that I can immediately recognize from the real world- I feel like they used to do more kitbashing, and at the end of the day it's still weird for me to see the OTHER type of tie in star wars, or just crates I've straight up seen in real life- but the story and acting are both very well done. I do find it funny that the empire appears to be dead set on annihilating literal France. But as it comes to lego? No- we're not getting anything more, and I totally get why. Putting aside the maturity, this isn't a show for kids in terms of attention. There are entire episodes without action scenes or starfighters or anything of the sort. Kids would not be interested in a playset of Dedra's apartment or Cassian's apartment or Mon's apartment or Syril's office or the ISB rountable. The TIE avenger is the only real standout, but then we do have to dive into the maturity aspect- it's possible we could get one based on the first scene of the show, but I don't see lego going out of their way to do it when they still have TIEs from the movies and other kid-friendlier content they haven't done. And it doesn't have many show-specific things that lend themselves well to 18+ sets. A Fondor Midi-scale is the only thing I can think of, or- force forbid- a buildable B2-EMO. -

I'm looking at the last Turbo Tank and I just can't tell how this is only 830 pieces, even with what's just there in the picture. The last one was 100 more pieces, and these look to be about the same size- almost exactly. Even if we remove the AT-RT, the brick built wheels mean this should be MORE pieces than the 2016 model, not less. (There are some other minor differences- the middle section appears to be shorter and some frontal details are missing, but to counter that the underside of the vehicle appears to be significantly more detailed) Either the piece count is wrong or this thing literally doesn't have an interior. -

Oh yeah. He out star-warsed Filoni on one of his first days working on TCW. My ideal star wars setup would be Filoni as chief creative director with Witwer as a loremaster to keep his retcons in check. To be fair this one actually made a ton of sense in the context of what we knew at the time (Unlike the TIE avenger one, sorry man- if it does happen it won't be the holiday/anniversary exclusive set) -

I believe the initial rumor was a christmas TIE and it was later altered to a christmas walker. I think we've usually known the January set prices by about the time the August wave releases. I feel like we've been hearing the 1HY set names earlier and earlier, though. I remember when around November we still only had codenames for some of the January stuff, now it feels like we know the May sets almost a year out. Sam Witwer has officially given his opinion on the Darth Maul minifigure from the mech's altered pupils. Apparently the mech figure looks more controlled whereas the pupiled one from the throne room looks crazed. It's cool to see the voice actor officially talk about his character. -
Best and Worst year of Lego Star Wars?
Mandalorianknight replied to Darth_Bane13's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's difficult for me to determine- obviously years like 2004 would be the worst nowadays, but it was just back when the theme was starting out. Low playset numbers feels more excusable back then than in 2025. I'd have to say the "best" year IMO was 2014. Something for everyone (at least out of what existed at the time): Prequels: a whole heap of clone sets and legions (212th and 41st BPs, some mid-sized sets with more legions like the 104th in the AV-7 and coruscant guard in the gunship), some actual separatist representation to counter them like the MTT, vulture droid, and tri-fighter, as well as the salucemi set- essentially a separatist BP. Alongside this, we had the "big three"- anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka- and Grievous in terms of major characters. OT: A good mix of cheaper sets like the snowspeeder and the Imperial Guard/Gunner BP, larger ones like the best non-UCS Mos Eisley ever, and the two perfect titans of the AT-AT and Star Destroyer. In addition, we had a good chunk of the main cast present- Luke, Han, Ben, Vader- and both a nice B-wing and the best-ever sandcrawler. We also got the Rebels Ghost+Phantom, an excellent pair of sets, as well as the first-ever Ithorian which is a nice bonus. As for the worst- recency bias, or whatever the inversion of that is, makes me want to say 2025. On paper years like 04 or 06 are worse, but it's more about the theme direction to me than what's actually on the page. A low set number 21 years ago when they were just starting out doesn't bother me as much as how half our sets nowadays are buildable 18+ objects. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hope we get everyone- Ghost and Yelena have very different costumes from their official figures, and like you say Bucky's one of the bigger names on the team so it'd be weird to leave him out. Marvel themselves just call Yelena and John Yelena and John in most of the marketing, so I don't think even they see them as White Widow or USAgent. Which is good- like you say, white widow makes absolutely zero sense. She mainly wears dark colors like Nat. And John is like one of my top 5 favorite marvel heroes just off Wyatt Russel's portrayal, but man, USAgent is a stupid name. That line Elaine Seinfeld drops at the end of TFATWS might rival "you gotta do better" or "what are those" for the cringiest line in the MCU. Honestly they don't need codenames- none of the thunderbolts keep their identities secret or have family to protect who aren't already in the thunderbolts. Ghost's family is dead, Bob's family is either dead or hates him, Yelena's family is dead or on the thunderbolts with her (So same with Alexi), Bucky's family died of old age decades ago, and John's family left him. (And in the comics his crashout comes from the terrorists killing his parents rather than Lamar and his siblings are villains, so...) I still can't believe we haven't had a wolvmobile yet. It seems so obvious of a move for lego. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Comic wise I think it depends on how far back we want to go, but we can reasonably assume Superman and Lex are also still alive, albeit they apparently took heavy enough damage that it took a half-decade to recover and yet they still need power suits to fight. I'd say the characters still alive appear to be Batman, Jonkler, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, Superman, and Lex. (Not counting direct movie or show tie-in sets) This is my best-case scenario: New, in costume: Robin, 1-2 villains, 1-2 Arkham doctors Jumpsuits: 4-6 inmates, about half of which re-use face prints. (Re-uses) Batman, Jonkler, 2 guards (from city sets with generic flesh toned faces) -

I just finished the first volume of USM and enjoyed it a lot (Though while I like the idea of taking away the heroes, and think USM itself is very well done, I have some big issues with the overall universe, especially how out of my top 5 characters, only two have been adapted well- Peter and Matt, short as his panel time is. Frank is missing AFAIK, Marc is gone with his moniker being used as a shell by Black Panther villains, and they just straight up made John a single-issue Red Skull goon, which is the ultimate disrespect to the character.) honestly I wouldn't be upset with getting the actual USM spider-man, maybe alongside a more accurate olive-colored 6160 goblin. Even just a bearded head on a Peter Parker in the next modular or something. For Iron Lad, I'm not sure- the Halls of Armor tend to be MCU suits. Mechs aren't too unlikely for both him and Cap, though. Wolverine I think has a fair shot given people are really resonating with the design and since they're fine throwing 6160 goblin in a standard set (where it seems like he's actually meant to represent Norman), I think they'd be fine throwing ultimate wolverine in a Sentinal set or something. Though I'd rather have the prints used for a new X-man anyway, like Nightcrawler or Jubilee. Midnight Mission. I just finished the Jed McKay run of Moon Knight- at least up to "The Final Days of Moon Knight"- and it would be such a cool mini modular. Lego could put literally anything they wanted in the interior and it'd be technically accurate. We could finally get a comic Moon Knight alongside longtime avenger Tigra. And you could even re-use prints for supporting "civilians" who are still interesting and combat-viable characters like his receptionist Reese or his assistant Soldier. (I feel like Hunter's Moon is unlikely given he'd require a full set of new prints and is still pretty obscure/seen as moon knight's "sidekick" for lack of a better term, but we're never actually getting the mission anyway so we'll throw him in.) -

Essentially between the brick built wheels and altogether lower piece count, best-case scenario the body is ~150-200 pieces smaller than the last one, assuming no side builds, which was already fairly undersized, and of course lego trends towards larger numbers of smaller pieces. I'm not saying I'd prefer a set the size of the 2010 tank if it also had that level of detailing, but for the piece count (and size) of the main body to be so much less than the 2016 model and yet about as expensive accounting for inflation is a bad sign. Also, price is a major factor, no? Like looking at the international price without any changes of $150 or equivalent, that's bad. That's INSANE for an 830 piece set that we now know doesn't have any big molded wheels and seems to only have four minifigures. That is really bad. Price should always be a big factor in sets- you could have the best $20 battle pack in the world, with an expertly designed build and figures detailed out the wazoo, but if you try to charge me $70, it's a disaster of a set. -

I assumed the green duros was light side cad bane, but maybe they're adapting everyone's favorite character, *joke I can't make since TOTU isn't a week old yet* If the value is actually there with all the new moulds and printing, I wouldn't mind using them for generic rebels, especially given how long it's been since our last rebel battle pack. I'm only a few episodes in, but unless it's unacknowledged by the characters I don't mind random deaths. They worked very well in rogue one, they fit a "realistic" show like this, and if it's the good guys it helps dissuade this silly "imperials can't aim" notion that comes from misreading the OT. I appear to be like the only person here who likes the jungle idiots storyline. I really like seeing a sort of explanation for why a wider rebel alliance is so important- disparate groups can't accomplish nearly as much and EASILY fall to infighting without access to the proper information, much less the damage different cells can do to eachother. It also serves as a show, don't tell for how much training and experience Cassian's received in the past year, manipulating the situation and showing that unlike them, he absolutely knows what to do in the scenario they've found themselves in. As for K2 I don't remember when the comic takes place but I'm assuming changing the circumstances of it would be enough and they didn't want to alter the timeline. I really hope they don't retcon the Mon Mothma scenes in rebels- they seem to be building to it and her speech is kind of a major moment for the character, but my dislike of retcons aside retconning an animated series would be a HUGE crack in the new canon. Comics and books are one thing, decanonizing part of rebels would be a major step up (or down, really.). -

The theme is objectively in a much worse state than it used to be. The only pre-modern era year for this theme that was this bad IIRC was 2007 back when it was just batman. This would not be what's holding them back. I'm sure that if anything, given the superheroes design team statements, they're chomping at the bit to have that batman budget drain on their marvel theme shifted to icons. As for the movie part, even superman didn't get a direct adaption. We've now had an MCU movie (and one of the only recent good ones, too) skipped entirely. I absolutely would not put it past them to ignore ANY DC movie. -
This is true, but the gamers rising up is not Pheonix-specific. That was a big Ledger-era thing, and Leto's is the one where we have actual official audio of him saying "We live in a society". I think Pheonix doesn't get any gamers simply because he probably wouldn't try to get them on his side- he's just some guy at the end of the day. He probably sees the men charging and either shoots as many as he can before being beaten to death or just gives up. Uh, no, this is wrong, because I've mentally blocked Joker 2's existence from my brain. There is one good joker movie, they never made a sequel. Same goes for Pacific Rim. Just like how Avatar the last Airbender is a great cartoon with no live action adaptions. I think ledger joker could absolutely get at least some number of the men on his side even if they knew going in only one side or the other was making it out. I wouldn't rule it out that he somehow manages to break the scenario and leave WITH some of the men. I don't think any others are able to convince enough allies to turn the tide, though.

Yes, exactly. Named character packs aren't bad in concept IMO- even when taking the spot of a battle pack, if done well- but half-and-halfs please no one. I think I made a list of almost every SW live action, animated, or gaming project and a $9.99, two-figure set it could have awhile back. There are just so many good options. -
Unequivocally, if they're men as in the plural of man. If they're normal men- depends on the jonkler. Ledger has a solid chance walking out of there with all 100 men on his side. Leto is immediately beaten to death. Nicholson probably dies ~1-2 men in- more if he's armed and they aren't- same with Pheonix. Ramero is crowned the Surf King of the gorilla arena.

For years now the only reason it hasn't been turned into a subset of Icons is that the 4+ sets still appear to do well. But we don't have the budget for a new torso print, so it's shadow box alfred's head and hair on an unprinted torso and legs with an explanation in the instruction manual that this is meant to represent robin. -

No. A lego set based on an IP would be subject to any economic tariffs on the country it was produced in (as they have been in various countries since the company's inception), not what the set's IP was based on. Oh no I agree 3-1 was preferable for that. I just meant either would be preferable to a 2-2 in which we got two of the offscreen snow scouts. I get where you're coming from and if they were normal death troopers I would have no issue with a 2-2 ratio, given that stormtroopers are still fairly populous in sets (at least, until this year), but since canonically there have only ever been two nightdeath troopers to my knowledge, I'd prefer as few as possible be in battle packs. This is something a lot of people are missing- in the past few months tariffs have been used more as a threat of tariffing to ensure policy change, a crackdown on illegal substances, etc- successfully or unsuccessfully. In either case, it's fairly likely this disappears within a few months, if that. And either way, it's not something that would directly impact the price of legos, since lego sets are not movies. Though of course any fluctuation in the tariffs on products like lego sets produced in other countries will only be reflected by lego in one direction. They won't bring the prices down if deals are reached. -

I'm gonna talk about this. Can I talk about this? I don't think it was in the trailers but I've been dying to talk about this. They made John feel self conscious about that part of his costume despite it being cool and the costume element he replaced it with is so much worse. It is my biggest complaint about the film. I didn't notice any difference in Ghost's design besides the emblem. As for Red Guardian, same, unless you mean that design, which is incredible and deserves a CMF figure but definitely not his actual super suit. You say this but they play some star wars sets like the skeleton crew set so close to the chest that sometimes I think they've actually failed to reveal one or two of them before release. -

Unless Arkham is a straight modular building that actually looks good and has a solid amount of figures- and sells well-, I unironically do not think this theme will see another batcave at anything beyond 4+ scale.
