  1. I'm sure it's just for the water=shark association for kids or whatever, but it's very funny to me that Jeff the LAND shark would be showing up in the water arc. I still think Rivals has a chance- it's still massively popular, and doesn't seem to be showing signs of having a short lifespan- the amount of characters they could add that people would go nuts for is, on the lower side, in the dozens. Not to mention that with lego's big 18+ collectible push, I'd be shocked if a Buildable Jeff wasn't already in development. It's essentially another Baby Groot for lego. (And it'd even make more sense for there to be a venomized one than it did for baby groot- especially if the rumors about next season are any indication...)
  2. I still don't understand why they don't space these out. What's the tactical advantage of competing with yourself?
  3. I'm talking about the playset, not the UCS set. Hence why I said it was smaller than half their starfighters.
  4. It would've sold at least one more copy if it had those, I can tell you that much.
  5. I can think of one other reason we might get Doom over Nemik in 2026. Or Doom over most clones of the same tier of obscurity, for that matter. Yup. I really hope I'm wrong, but I think there's enough people following the "no matter how relentlessly we complain we must buy 200,000 copies of every set involving clones" youtubers that it'll sell enough copies despite the absurd price.
  6. But it's inclusion in the One Piece Is Real theme would mean they really don't need that much budget, as it wouldn't be a new mold per se. Are we at the point where even a part recolor is too much to ask?
  7. But in the star wars theme two molds can't be the reason it's THIS overpriced/small/underdetailed/etc? We get plenty of new molds every year. Two in one set is a little more than normal, but especially when one will probably see play in more sets, I don't think it comes close to justifying the rest of the set. Most of it doesn't bother me- as you say stuff like the X-wing and tie are actively better now- but the slave one just doesn't work. It's not a starfighter. Yeah exactly. The starfighters are at a better size- the 2018 X-wing was too big and too expensive, and that was in 2018 dollars- in 2025 that's easily a $120 set- but slave one isn't a starfighter. For a set where lego refuses to use the actual name and as such actively calls it a starship, it's weird that half their starfighters are bigger. It would have been so much better if it did, but we've seen the prelims and it's just an oversized AT-RT, bit of terrain, and funko pop spider droid. In our hearts. We were lucky enough he was in the 4+ set a half decade ago. He may be one of the single best characters in the franchise but there aren't a ton of places he fits besides one of the many potential second pilots to put in an X-wing. Between the cockpit and galactic marine mold I think a new snowspeeder, or hoth set including one, for 2026 could be happening.
  8. I'm sure it does have all 10 wheels but I absolutely wouldn't put it past them to have cut two of the wheels as a cost-cutting measure. Totally agree that it's the best of the bunch. Slave One is probably the one ship where I'll agree with @ArrowBricks that it's been downscaled to a damaging extent. It's more similar to something like the Falcon but they're making it smaller than half their starfighters. Very well said, but even though it's not alliterative, it HAS to be Doom's Bots. They can go with Fordo's Slayers, Gree's Goblins, Fox's F- uh, Fox's Forces, Bacara's Battlers, Vaughn's Vanguard, Neyo's Nerf Herders, and Thorn's Hammers.
  9. For how much they charge for lego, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Sue's torso to be different from even a depowered Johnny, not to mention a guy literally made of rocks. Those three do not look the same in those costumes. Next thing we know the batman shop at home page is just going to be a hyperlink to lego asking for your social security and credit card information.
  10. Instructions unclear, when I tried let the freedom in (drink gasoline), Saw's partisan (the guy working at the gas station) told me it was bad for me and wouldn't actually turn me into a rebel. None of the organic buildable ever look remotely good or make any sense, aside from Grogu. They don't sell well either- Chewbacca is probably the worst-selling star wars 18+ set since they started the 18+ gimmick- so I have no idea what inspires lego to pump out more of these. They need characters for RTG season 3, I guess. I think it's pretty clear at this point that lego treats any sets involving clone troopers as a battle pack regardless of the cost. Down to having a 33-50% price jump on that 327th pack over a set last year that was essentially the same. I hope you're right about clone fatigue hurting sales, or I guess that if it happens lego recognizes it. I'm pretty confident the demand isn't there- not that there aren't fans, but that it's not such an overwhelming proportion of the market that it's feasible to make almost every minifig set this year clone based- but I could easily see the sets flopping and lego learning the wrong lessons from it. I just don't know what tradeoff they made! They aren't more affordable, the sets aren't more detailed, they're not larger, they don't have more figures. The figures are solid, but I wouldn't say they're any better than last year's figure selection, so where did everything else go? Shout it from the rooftops. I used to not mind if lego messed up in more minor ways- I've said before that I wouldn't even request a new part if one was missing if I already had some in my loose collection to replace it with- but at this point I request a new one every time. It's not about fixing the specific issue with the specific copy. It's about forcing lego to spend more for after-the-fact customer service so they'll start spending more on quality control to avoid it. As much as I like how fun the Fyrespeeder is, probably the same here. Hopefully Ventress sells for a pretty penny on bricklink so I can chop a bit off the price, even if it is one of the only reasonably priced ones in the wave. Just have to vote with our wallets. And with prices like these, it's so much easier to do so! Imagine if the Turbo Tank had been reasonably priced. I might have gotten it. Yeah- weird that MandR of all people got this wrong as clone legions aren't all literally palate swaps, they at least change out the decals so there's more/less white/color and in different distributions across the armor.
  11. Every time I think lego can't possibly disappoint me more- I was out here thinking I was tempering my expectations for just a toothless model with no figures. And then it's not even an accurate model of toothless, more like a baby toothless brickheadz.
  12. I really can't wait to see Jang's video on it, I want to see if he acknowledges it and therefore the existence of his evil twin. Yup. Even with the downscaling, if it was more detailed or at least AS detailed as the last one, I wouldn't mind. But there's significant chunks of 2010-level detailing here on a 2025-priced set and the size isn't remotely there either. It's like lego had a set of tradeoffs but instead of trading off just chose the worse outcome for every category. (Except one, as you say) Yup. And they're not even exceptional- they're good, to be sure, but the galactic marine helmet is the only part that's anything above average for the theme. But it does speak to lego increasingly viewing their system sets as vessels to release clone troopers in, as does the skyrocketing price- they know the MandRs of the world, and more importantly their young followers, just want the clone minifigures, and will pay exorbitant prices for it as much as they grumble. I hope they're overestimating how big a fraction of the market that is, but they clearly think it's a pretty significant percentage.
  13. We're joking about strategies lego's just actively been implementing.
  14. And now that we've seen images.... if you told me the only 2025 LSW set I'd be considering besides the ~$20ish gimmick ones (and on discount too) was an RTG set, I'd have called the aslume. But somehow THIS gets the new cockpit, and the sandspeeder's A-wing wings (those stickered hot rod wings are going to be useful for mocs)... I still probably won't buy it, to be honest.. but I definitely consider it the best set of the wave. This is awesome. I agree- again it's not so much the set in a vacuum as the set in the context of the year as a whole. *huffs rydo* I would say you'll lose because lego can make green lantern figures, but they seem to be unable to for some reason. Alright, wave images. Let's see: Mustard Legion vs Funko Pop: I can't find a good image of this one, all I can see are the figures and that the mortar from two of the last battlepacks is back with the same identical build. I used to like the 327th, but going off the older leaked image, this is a pass. 6/10 "If you're gonna ride, Danno, ride in style!": Now, this is podracing. I cannot wait to see a normal T-47 using this cockpit element. Very exciting. And between that piece, the apparent extra height this has for what is assumably a play feature, and a STAP... it's still overpriced, but probably the best deal in the wave. Also like that they've kept the trend of other-environment T-47s having the A-wing wings from the old kenner kitbash. 9/10 2008: Both the republic figures are excellent. Not a fan of ventress, but then I wasn't a fan of that design of hers in-universe either. The ship itself looks GREAT, and another one where the price doesn't seem... awful? It's tough for me to tell but I'd see lego charging either $50 or $70 based on how big it actually is, and the real price is in between. 8/10 "Jango Fett's Uyghur One": Yeah, no. Lama Su is cool and all but I'm not buying the same downscaled "Boba Fett's starship" in a different color for $20 more. 7/10 Shuma-Gorath the Eternal Demon: Lego seems to be competing with itself to make the most cursed face possible on these statues. Chewbacca took a big loss to Wicket here, this might be worse than the 2018ish Yoda. I will never understand what compels people to buy these. λ/10 I am discriminating against this set based on the color of it's plastic: This is a perfectly fine $100 set I would normally expect lego to charge $120 for. $140-160 or whatever it is is gross. Had this set been a brown MTT with grey commandos I would have been interested, but they chose the less iconic vehicle color and I have no idea what compelled them to once more make the commando droids dark brown. 7/10 at MSRP Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) if it was bad: Again, a perfectly fine set at ~$120ish. Although even then the turbo tank isn't just small, it's plain. Normally the tradeoff is size for detail, but this set (which would have been overpriced even with normal detail) seems so... blank. Figures are fine. Shoutout to the one galactic marine who's doing a sick jumpshot on the left side of the image. 6/10 at MSRP All in all, while I might get a few of this if/when they sell poorly and hit big discounts (eyeing the turbo tank if it gets below $100), the only one that really interests me is, somehow, the firespeeder. Somebody tell Gnajbricks they finally did it.
  15. Joke's on you, they'll turn it right back around and the only figures in lego DC sets will be random used repackaged batman minifigures.
  16. It can fit a speederbike inside of it, whether it's full-sized or not I wouldn't expect it to be a faithful T-47 so much as a vaguely T-47 shaped ship. It is interesting that this is now the second time in the past decade lego has given the T-47 a non-canon color scheme. The only other time I can think of them doing this at all (besides the early days where they used more colorful bricks but intended them to represent the onscreen vehicles) is the "Jek-14's starfighter is basically an E-wing" thing. The AT-ST could be pretty solid, though I do find it funny that even when they give an AT-ST two seats it still only gets one driver. I'm sure the V-19 will be a fine model, this is just such a clone-heavy year that it doesn't do anything for me.
  17. Same here- cool figure, but I'll wait until the set gets to $10. There was an (lego) idea(s) You jest but you know something like this is coming. Clone Battle Packs are like an itch. Lego cannot help but scratch it. The epaulets were a bit thinner than the jackets, and the backpacks coming up behind the "neck" combined with the hats helped to hide it. Trust me. Go put two neck brackets on a clone trooper. They look absurd. Same here. I really, really hope they course correct next year. If the buildable were OT or ST or Mando or SOMETHING, all the clone stuff wouldn't bother me, but it's essentially your only option for the wave. Not much info in that big post of details. The two big things appear to be: Turbo tank's number of figures isn't as bad as it could have been. 5 figures + 3 droids is the same as the 2022 AT-TE, so while still not good, it's not the 4 minifigs and no droids that was rumored. The snowspeeder actually sounds kind of cool? How?!? I don't know if the duros is a deep pull from legends but her lightwhip/chain lightsaber seems good. As for the vehicle itself, it sounds like a fun toy. I don't think I'll buy it, but it actually sounds like a fun toy for kids, unlike most of this wave, which is just absurdly priced clone collectibles aimed at guys in their 20s. I'm in my 20s, I like clones, I don't need them to be the entire kriffing wave.
  18. A joke in 2025, a stipulation of purchase by 2029.
  19. Unfortunate but true. The people don't recognize the Thunderbolts as the peak cinema that they are.
  20. Cal Kestis is a crazy person to single out for "dealing with murder". Lego has made literally hundreds of figures of characters who kill people, including ones in a much less sci-fi fashion- it's not the same thing as a bar. At the end of the day lego's rules on violence have always been much less strict than those on alcohol, langauge, sexual innuendo, etc. I'm sure if the theme continues they'll find a way to get Moe into a set, but we aren't going to see a product labeled "Moe's Bar", nor do I think it's likely we'll see a depiction of a bar.
  21. I don't think this bodes well, it implies there's not much to talk about. Either it has a seriously lackluster minifigure selection, or (I know this sounds drastic but at this point I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility) it got canceled. Denial is the first step on the path to acceptance.
  22. The current ones could be done better, but the nice thing about cloth is the tooling to just... make a smaller one with a different shape isn't all that expensive. As for Fives's, the plastic pauldron doesn't seem to go down around the arms any more than fives's cloth one, and another new mold will be required for the plastic ARC pauldron. Not to mention you can't put this pauldron alongside a jetpack for rex, or a backpack for fives. For me the upsides don't seem all that significant, and certainly don't outweigh the downsides. Exactly. They have the ability to improve the current cloth pauldrons, if that was the issue.
  23. Regardless of whether or not I pick up anyone else, I'm getting Miguel. Sun-Spider is boring though I'll be happy to pick those crutches up on BL- perfect Truncheons- but Kilometers Immorales is CLEARLY the odd one out here being he's not even a spider-man. Why is this not the Uncle Aaron Prowler? To be fair, they could have chosen side characters with no plot relevance but more relevance elsewhere- as I've said, Unlimited and Future Foundation style suits would both be fan favorites for this series if they'd been made, instead of characters like sun-spider or werewolf or cyborg spider-woman that most people are considering the weaker parts of the series. The new Rivals update makes me glad I picked up the new iron man mech- Ultron is awesome in that game. And once more another update, another convoy payload that'd be a perfect set build, another batch of skins and characters that would make s-tier minifigures.
  24. I can no longer condone your crusade. I could support the avenger releasing alongside an advanced/reaper/defender, but not in place of. Ironically I think we're largely safe from that particular hellscape. Lego seems to think that in general the fandom is split into middle aged adult-but-not-afols who want ship and character models instead of traditional system sets, and gen Z and millenials who want traditional sets, but only for clones. We've largely avoided mixing the two- the majority of 18+ buildable tend to be OT. Do you have some information we don't, or is it a hunch? I could see you being right either way- the AAT has shown up roughly every 5-6 years and as such is due a remake, for example. I just don't know. The only thing I can think of is that some designer thinks these look better and has managed to convince the team through force of will. It's gonna cost lego more money, so it's not a cost-saving measure, as you say, and there's no way for them to tie it up as some sort of environmental thing. I think you're right that they're testing the waters here, but they've been doing these tests for a long time in other themes- I don't think negative response to the pauldrons will be enough to stop the deathmarch against cloth elements. The thing is they've been testing the waters for years now, and it keeps getting wider and wider in scope. This is the first time it's really come to star wars (unless we're counting the printed kamas and boba's missing cape as part of the phasing out, which I would), but in general it's been happening for years in other themes. Maybe if we're vocal enough we could keep it out of this theme, but in general I think they've set too much in motion, created too many new molds to just stop now. I mean look I'm glad to have an ally in the Cloth Defense Force fight, but I can understand the idea that there are some benefits to the other pieces that cloth doesn't have. I think cloth is for sure better than rubber or plastic for stuff like pauldrons and kamas, but at the same time I wouldn't say it's concerning for anyone to think the other way.
  25. Literally half this lineup should be replaced with other characters IMO. Kilometers Immorales isn't even a spider-man and I don't get why he's here over any of the cut supporting cast. The VR lady just isn't interesting to me. As for the others, evil moon knight, good boy, Uncle Ben's Ghost Rider, and red hulk are all basically cameos who's inclusion over Peni, Noir, Ben, or Jessica is crazy. And even then, if we're doing cameos, why not ones like Unlimited or Future Foundation who have more appeal than their two seconds in the movie? Two of the ones they chose aren't even accurately represented at this scale- cyborg spider woman is (was? I don't remember her in the movie at all, just the merch) supposed to be like hulk sized- and web-slinger can't ride his own horse. That said, everyone looks incredible. I'm glad they gave Miles the shock variant, I think that's cool and a good choice. They put a ton of effort into this, I just don't think they chose the right characters. Yeah, it doesn't capture him well, and the horse he can't ride is also a strange choice- obviously they couldn't fit a full horse in here, but it begs the question of why he's here at all over someone like Scarlet Spider.
