That is REALLY cool. By far the best I've seen at this scale. I'm definately going to make one of these for myself.

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I don't like it, but I'm not SUPER surprised. For some reason, a lot of merch companies seem to think Black Panther's popularity extends to everything wakandan (or even that BP the character is spider-man level popular now). Like, I like T'challa, he's cool, but I could care less about wakandan vehicles. Because no BP vehicle is that big. It's going to be larger than minifigure scale. -

Oh, sorry, I misread yours. Mask, minifig clayface, and hatter would all be nice. Just as a quick thing, here's how long the theme'll have gone without the core JL as of January 1st, 2023: (Batman's still pretty easy to get, of course) Clark Kent/Superman: 3 years for the CMF, FIVE YEARS since last appearance in a system set. Diana/Wonder Woman: about 3 years since ANY variant (eagle armor and 1st appearance), FIVE years since last generic comic version Barry Allen/The Flash: 4 years (3 since any flash at all) Hal Jordan/Green lantern: this one's weirdest, but also most annoying. 4 years since the last Hal at all, but it was the Lego Movie two version that's a pretty bad stand-in. 8 YEARS since the last actual Hal Jordan green lantern, and 3 since any member of the GL corps. Victor Stone/Cyborg: 3 years since ANY variant (1st appearance CMF), 5 since last generic comic version Arthur Curry/Aquaman: 3 years since ANY variant (hook hand), 4 since last comic version. So in general, we haven't had any of the non-batman leaguers in almost 3 years, but we haven't had their usual outfits in more like 4-5 years, and Hal specifically hasn't had his normal outfit in almost EIGHT. And it's not like the other main lanterns have faired better (been almost as long since we got Jon, and we've never had Kyle.) -
Yeah I'll be honest with you I have absolutely no idea what word was supposed to go there. Reinforce is what should be there, but I have no idea how that turned into belay. I mean, if you're buying legos at all, you are funding these experiments, at least indirectly. Lego can't keep making themes that flop unless people keep buying sets. It's money better spent on new molds/marketing/pay raises/literally anything besides this. Even if they feel the need to keep that budget for R&D, I don't think they need to focus on technology integration. Not everything needs to have to be charged or connect to a phone. Lego's been around for almost a century. Technology has advanced greatly over that time period. And lego's bestselling sets generally aren't stuff like vidiyo or hidden side, it's standard system sets. In contrast, very few of their attempts to "tap in" to technology with the sets themselves work. (The only two with any success have been mindstorms/boost and mario, and again, literally anything mario sells.) ....I mean there's a few things here. 1. You have internet access 99% of the time. Great. Not everyone does. I live in a pretty suburban area, not exactly in the mountains somewhere, and even my internet's spotty sometimes. Should my ability to build a lego set depend on how many cellular bars I have? More than that, what about the people who rarely do have internet access? And even more than that, what about kids? Most 6-12 year olds don't have mobile phones. You want them to be unable to build lego sets without borrowing their parents? Or do you just think all kids should have internet accessing devices at the age of 6? 2. Even if we're in some hypothetical scenario where everyone has constant, great internet access and every kid for some reason has a mobile phone, availability isn't the only concern here. A lot of people, myself included, build lego sets as a way to get away from screens for a few minutes. I think there'd be a lot of backlash if lego decided it was a smart idea to make it so you couldn't build a set without a phone. I might be coming off a little belligerent here, but it honestly really bugs me how casually you're ready to cast aside instruction booklets.

Yeah, what we have to hope for now is that someone at lego screws up and accidentally unveils them. After all, we know the images exist, since Promobricks got pretty detailed descriptions. And I'm also fine with them being March releases. I'm probably only going to get one of the two smaller sets, but it'll put enough of a buffer between it's release and jan 1 that I'll have some money left after spending my life's savings on infinite copies of the battlefront 2 battle pack. February's not completely out of the realm of possibility, but I'd put my money on March 1st. And thanks for reminding me about that overwatch set. I swear, if that and the osprey have to get canned, but they end up putting Miller's Flash in a set, my face is going to melt off like the nazis at the end of Raiders. -

Some of these guys are a little more obscure, but you reminded me that we somehow don't have a non mighty micros doomsday yet. Like, he killed superman back when dying in comics was at least semi-permanent. That's got to count for something! Even that's too much. Just saying "I think 2023 needs multiple DC sets" or "I think 2023 needs a non 4+, system DC set" is pretty bold at this point. Exactly. Even if all they want to do is Bat-Vehicles, just throw leaguers in. Put Clark in the next Batmobile. Add Diana and Hal to the next batwing. The next time a $15-20 batcycle comes out, have Barry racing alongside it. -

I think it's the reverse, to be honest. The new 501st battle pack makes me think they want to always have one on shelves, and there's not too many options before we start getting to named ones. Contuining the thrawn trilogy, a wave for the second book, Dark Force Rising: Microfighters: Wild Karrde microfighter ($9.99): Talon Karrde Katana dreadnaught microfighter ($9.99): Garm Bel Iblis Imperial assault shuttle vs new republic transport ($19.99): TIE pilot and Counciler leia. Battle Packs: Stormtrooper battle pack ($14.99): 3x stormtroopers (nutrient frames), 1x navy trooper. Build is a small turret. Rebel strike team ($14.99): 2x rebel commando, 1x bothan spy, 1x rebel tech. Build is the scaled-down AT-ST from the dark force. Duel: Coral Vanda skirmish ($19.99): Coral Vanda kitchen with Han Solo and the Wraith. Function to..uh... light the wraith on fire and burn him with the flaming alcahol. I mean, he just looks like a shadow, so it's ok? System sets: Showdown with C'baoth ($34.99): Build of the gate outside Cbaoth's mansion with the rock structures and a function for c'baoth to throw boulders. Comes with C'boath, Mara, and Luke. Chimera Breakout ($49.99): Karrde's cell, turblift, and trash compactor (If you haven't read the book, it's not the same situation as ANH, it's a cool twist) with Talon Karrde, Mara Jade (TIE pilot disguise), Luke Skywalker (TIE pilot disguise), and 2 fleet troopers. Noghri commando ship ($79.99): Kabraahka's ship with Kabraahka, Leia, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and the Matriark Imperial assault craft ($89.99): Imperial assault craft with 1x tie pilot, 4x stormtrooper (nutrient frame), Lando, and a Rebel Commando. New Republic Transport ($99.99): New republic transport with Captain Virgilio, Borsk Fey'la, Councilor Leia, Wedge Antilles, 2x rebel techs, and 2x rebel bridge officers. The Katana ($139.99): Massive Dreadnaught build with interior hallway and bridge. Comes with Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, 2x rebel trooper, and 3x stormtrooper. Dioramas: Noghri Dynast ($69.99): Large build of the Grand Duhka with Leia standing in the center, lightsaber ablaze. Also included are 4 nohgri figures. Quote is "I am the Mal'ary'ush!" Battle for the Dark Force ($89.99): Space battle diorama set against a black background. Included are a new republic transport, a few small smuggler ships, 3 Dark Force dreadnaughts, 2 star destroyers, some very small (I'm talking 2 studs) imperial assault craft, and 3x of Iblis's dreadnaughts emerging from hyperspace (coming out of the diorama). Quote is "This is Senator Garm Bel Ibis aboard the Warship Peregrine. May I offer our assistance?" UCS/MBS: UCS Dark Force Dreadnaught ($499.99): Massive dreadnaught with interior hallway, microscale hanger, medical room, gunnery room, and bridge. Comes with spare parts to change it from the Peregrine to the Katana, as well as 6 minifigures (Garm Bel Iblis, Sena, Irenez, Luke, Han, and Lando) -

I've read his new Thrawn trilogy (great books, and I like how he didn't just try to remake his original masterpieces into canon), but not the Chiss Ascendency trilogy. It's definately on my list though. I did a quick color swap to show off a non-disguised imperial version, I honestly think it fits as an imperial vehicle at that scale. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

These mechs are interesting, because all three of them two of them really have the potential to be something different. As I type this I realize the Thanos mech is almost 100% just the Endgame Thanos minifigure in a mech based off his endgame armor with the helicopter sword. I suppose it's our first mech with a sword from marvel? But the Rocket and Hulk ones are much more interesting to me. The $15 price tag (hopefully meaning they're bigger and not just that they're being inflated) gives me a bit of hope that we might see something unique. I think there's a good shot of the Rocket mech being Groot, with a little Rocket pod on his shoulder (I forget who, but someone did an excellent version of this with Rocket and War Machine. And for the Hulk mech, it could be cool if it was a brick-built hulk (who is pretty damn large in the comics sometimes) with a banner fully hidden inside it. But who am I kidding, it'll just be that endgame thanos with a generic rocket mech, and the hulk mech with be a Bruce Banner (same from battle of Wakanda) in a generic green and purple mech with large hands. -

Honestly, I'm hoping just for comic versions of Superman and Wonder Woman. The last Superman in a standard set was almost 5 years ago (same with a standard WW outfit, but the eagle armor was more recent, and of course they were both in the CMF in some form). Not to mention a comics Flash or Hal Jordan. -
(MOC) Suwantek TL-1800 Freighter - 1505 pieces
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! To be honest, I always imagined the ship looking more like Hound's tooth when I read the books, though I think the official design fits much better than that. I LOVE those books. I think they're the most underrated and unknown part of the old EU. It's a pipe dream, of course, but I feel like the story of Larone and co. would be an excellent D+ series. Thanks, and no problem! That's probably as good as you can get at that size. I'm wracking my brain to think of ways to get a cockpit or the gunwells in there, but the only thing I can think of is replacing the two 1x1 slopes in front with a jumper and black 1x1 slope for the cockpit, and then you lose the shaping of the frontal fuselage. Anyways, I look forewords to seeing those freighters! -
Very nice, it looks much better than the official one.

But the AT-ST raider came out like a month before mando premiered. I don't know if it's necessarily spoilers per se, could just be a weird release pattern (since lego's turned 1HY from the standard January wave into a randomized shotgun blast of sets over the half-year), but it could have Mando's N-1 level of "spoilers". -

ooooo, that's interesting. if it is something more(bius) than a mech V mech set, I'll be extra hyped. But I'm not gonna kid myself, it could be morbius, a re-used miles, and 70 2x4 bricks and I'd still buy it. -
As a few of you know, the past month or two I've been working on a MOC wave with the set slots chosen by users on this site. This one (my own choice) was one I was especially proud of how it turned out, so I'm giving it it's own thread before I do the thread for the full wave (I'm about 75% done with the wave, by the way) So for those of you who don't know, the Suwantek TL-1800 is a fairly obscure freighter (Hey, @Kdapt-Preacher, I might have found one you haven't done yet!) primarily featured in the Timothy Zahn (of thrawn trilogy fame) "allegiance/choices of one" duology. This specific model is the ISB-modified freighter stolen by a group of renegade stormtroopers after they sort of accidentally defect from the empire. Since it was primarily featured in a book, the only official image I can find is a pretty rough-looking draft that, upon any level of inspection, quickly falls apart as a vague mess. So I had some fun with a bit of artistic license. Here it is in all it's glory. The Suwantek is 1505 pieces not including figures. Here it is with the top panels and cockpit windscreen removed. You can see most of the interior, comprised of (right to left): 3-seater cockpit, gunnery stations (we'll get to that in a minute), secret compartments, 2 rooms with a sliding door in between, equipped with beds and consoles, and in the back, a compartment for Brightwater's speeder. I've done very little testing, but this can fit 15 people at bare minimum, more if you get creative and/or remove the speeder. Let's take a closer look at each section: Here we can see the cockpit (seats a pilot, co-pilot, and passenger), as well as the gunnery station. The guns themselves can rotate 360 degrees. I like how I did the sides of the cockpit. Here's a close up of one room. For some backround, since the ship is modified by the ISB, there are secret compartments containing stormtrooper armor and blasters. Technically, there should be at least 6 rooms, but obviously if this was figure scale it'd be as big as the falcon, so we've only got 2 here, with a sliding door between them. Each room contains a bed, a console, and a door to that secret armor/weapon compartment. And the slot for Brightwater's bike in the back. The circular parts on the sides can fold down to allow for the bike to be removed or placed in. Here's a possible figure selection were it to be a set. L-R; Mara Jade with magenta lightsaber, Deric LaRone with blaster, Searben Marcoss with blaster, Korlo Brightwater with pistol and lucky coin, Joak Quiller with pistol, Taxtro Grave with sniper rifle, a stormtrooper suit, and a scout trooper suit. I hope you like the model, and I look forewords to showing off the rest of the wave once I'm done!

LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

How would Prototype Boba Fett wear the cone of shame, though? I need answers. I haven't built mine yet, but it 100% bugs me in the pictures I've seen. I think your theory is totally accurate. On the bright side, the 2017 model was pretty nice, and having the x-wing canopy in white is great. Is it good enough to offset how weirdly it fits? No. I'm just trying to find silver linings for this model since I already bought it. As-is, I might just hold on to it for a few years and sell it once sealed prices get high, which would probably be a smart move money-wise but would leave me feeling guilty that I got one when it was scarce (even though I didn't know the extent at the time). -

Definately possible, but the first Benatar set was just called "thanos ultimate battle" so the name doesn't necessarily confirm a side build. Not that there won't be one (I seriously hope there will be, because $50 for a hulkbuster is either super overpriced or super oversized), but Lego does weird names sometimes. I've been morbing continuously for hours. I can't stop. I finally understand what it's like to be Morbius. It definately won't happen, but imagine a set with post-GR Johnny Blaze and Ghost Rider dan ketch. Would be amazing. The fact that it's probably a bike for the mech does cool my jets a bit. I thought it would be a mech, and then also a figure scaled bike, with a side build or something to get to that $35 price tag, but you're right that it'll probably be a mech and a mech-fitting bike with just one figure. That's not really something I'd be as likely to buy. -

Yeah, but Gina Carano tweeted something some people didn't like. Ezra Miller's physically attacked people, broken into a couple's house and threatened them, allegedly kidnaped a child (Two different scenarios of this, supposedly) and might be a cult leader or something? Bit of a difference there. The Mythrol still being released might be closer, since his actor was at least accused of an actual crime, but even then, the Mythrol is a blue alien who doesn't look like Horatio Sanz, and while what he allegedly did is evil, he at least wasn't actively running from the police during the UCS RC's development. Not really, they released in 2021 in many places. I'd go by earliest release, not latest. That's like saying The Mandalorian "technically" released in March 2020, not November 2019. Look on the bright side, we got morbius. Jokes aside if there isn't anything in January 2023 for DC, we might actually be looking at a dead theme. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think the iron man statue's been deconfirmed, maybe not by name but I feel like it's definately deconfirmed by "vehicle, controversial", and "not something anyone's suggested yet" I suppose it's safer for them, since Lego can't really know that any of them actually know what it is (which I'm personally starting to wonder about myself), but at this point I'm almost 100% confident that at least some of the hints have been wrong. There's just nothing left it could be! IT'S MORBIN TIME BABEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! WOOOOOOO! I would say that's unrealistic, but the other option is "Milo Morales Mech vs Micheal Morbius Mech" and that somehow sounds even sillier. Like really, why'd they even set him against Miles? Have they ever actually met in the comics? This is legitimately the first marvel set I'll have bought since January 2020. I need Dr Micheal "The Morb" Morbius as a minifigure. This is the one time I'm perfectly fine paying $25 for essentially just a minifig (but realistically, yeah. I will buy this set, just for all the black mech parts I assume it will have. Plus I don't have an ITSV miles yet so I'm hoping it's that one, or maybe even an ATSV miles, and of course my mind has been so warped by all the morbin that I legitimately now want a morbius minifigure) Not a fan of the mechs being $15 now, they better be bulked up a bit at least. The Hulkbuster also better have some side builds, $50 is a pretty hefty price up when you consider the last one was $30 AND had a large side build. I might get the Quinjet if it's the 2012 model. Oh and the ghost rider set is another one that'll pretty much be an instant buy, so glad we're getting the classic ghost rider and not the new Dom Charger wielding ghost rider who probably screams "FAMILY" and fights Jason Stathem. (In case you can't tell, I think they should have stuck with the bike). Wonder if the set'll have multiple riders, or a new enemy character. Not really any existing figures it'd make sense for him to fight, but they could always make it some of those stupid AIM agents. -

See, I think this would make sense for $500 (The sanctuary 2 is pretty big after all, and we've had more expensive capital ships), but the issue is I can't see how it'd be controversial. A massive diorama/enemy capital ship from the climax of the entire infinity saga sounds... pretty fitting. 100% this. Someone's either been mistaken, been fed false info, or is trolling us. -

My money's on the sanctuary 2, though I'm not sure how controversial that would be. I'd love a $500 leviathon. I don't think I'd be able to afford it, but that'd be incredible, and IIRC at least around minifig scale (which would rule it out, but ) Honestly I haven't seen any suggestions that fit every bit of criteria, which makes me think at least one of the hints given was false. -
DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

The new boxart is the only thing giving me hope for 2023. Or maybe that's just where the budget went. Why make new sets when we can have some really kickass box art for one set? Ah. I can see how'd you come to that conclusion then. I do think most people like the The Batman sets though, or at least don't think they're exceedingly bad. Personally it's just not a film I want sets from as much. I prefer the dark knight trilogy, and while I still thought The Batman was pretty good, it's just not something I want to collect. I'd rather have a build of TDKR's The Bat, or some Synder cut sets. (Which I should cut in here: I don't think the snyder cut was better than the batman, but I like it more, if that makes sense) I'm not saying lego should have done those instead, clearly making sets based off the new film was an obviously good choice, I'm just saying it's what I would have bought.
