DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Sure, it's all theoretical, I wasn't saying that we were getting a batmobile collection this november. But you did hit me with the last piece of the puzzle: $500 set for superheroes theme - It's either marvel or DC (as much as I'd like an invincible set) DC has ONE set releasing that was meant to release this year, containing a grand total of ONE recolor and ONE new print. - either DC's budget is just completely nonexistant or they saved it for something. D2C Bat-vehicle goes away after 3 straight years, when they seemed to be doing well - either they ran out of ideas (when they still have The Bat, the Batfleckmobile, etc), or we're getting a different D2C this year Marvel, which generally gets more sets, has 2 $200+ sets releasing/released in 2HY already. - either they're REALLY confident in having three $200+ marvel sets releasing in the same HY (somthing I don't even think Star Wars has had), or the $500 set is DC -

Of course, the music too! I guess. I think the final duel is becoming one of those sets that lego is going to try to have on shelves almost all the time. Which reminds me, we're about due for another system Luke's Landspeeder. 2014-2017-2020-... The UCS one might have bought us some time, though. I think the BOBF finale set is coming, it's just such an obvious set choice. Desirable figs (bane, boba... actually, I'm not sure how desirable he'll be. It used to be that every boba figure would be a minimum of $15-20 on BL, but with the newest one coming in a $10 set...), very clear-cut build choices (big droid, our first brick-built rancor, depending on the size of the set maybe some destroyable walls or the Freetown transport), etc. -

I'm going off MOC syndrome; that is, a MOC of roughly the same size as a playscale set tends to be much more detailed (and use many more pieces) than said set. If this is a UCS style batmobile collection, I wouldn't want something like the recent Pattmobile. I'd want something stronger. -

I've talked about this before, but OT sets seem to sell best, especially among adults, and ESPECIALLY among the 'adults who aren't afols" market. OT sets in the first few years of a gimmick are how we get to prequel sets. (see helmets as an example) As for the "useless black border", the black border is cool. It makes the set look more like a display piece. I wouldn't say they're any more overpriced than other sets from SW. Would you say the dioramas are overpriced like Grievous's fighter, or Snoke's Throne Room? I'll give you final duel (Though the diorama is the first one I'll pick up, and as arguably one of the best and most character-defining scenes in SW, it DESERVES the spot), but speeder chase? That was done once. Without leia. In the first year of the theme. Almost 25 years ago. (Also, I'm calling it now, 2024 will include 25th anniversary X-wing and TIES, and if there's no Falcon in 2023 2HY, we'll see one then too.) And yeah, I'm totally biased, but I LOVE the final duel. The atmosphere, the character developments, the dialogue, the BEST LIGHTSABER FIGHT IN SW (I know it's an insanely unpopular take) it is without a doubt my favorite scene in SW, even if I think ESB is a stronger movie overall. I... I'm so sorry to be the one to tell you this... but not only is this one most likely the BF2 "specialist".... I think the ARF mold is gone. A $200 set after the price hike. Good to see someone who likes the helmets. I'm not personally fan enough to buy them, but they do look cool. -

I totally agree. The general strategy seems to be starting with OT (Bestselling, especially among their coveted "Adult who isn't specifically an AFOL" demographic), then moving into mando, and then prequels. At least, that's how the helmets went. My guess is the dioramas stay OT because they keep changing the setup (bespin duel, Meditiation chamber, and the new ones are all infuriatingly just slightly different from eachother.). Maybe, I dunno. First off, I totally missed the Woman Month connection with those GWPs, and now I want April GWPS of Elon Musk, Abed from community, and my other compatriots. But anyway, yeah, I guess we'll see. I definately agree that it'll generally be mainly figures that don't come into sets normally, but I feel like if they really want Shmi in a set, they can just put her in a podracer, right? -

Eh. A UCS set that's a collection of detailed, but playscale, batmobiles could be nice. Something like: Batmobile Collection ($299.99): Batmobile '66, Batmobile 1989, Batmobile TAS, Tumbler, Batfleck mobile/gunmobile, and Pattmobile. Each have a display stand and come with their respective batman, so West, Keaton 89, Conroy (TAS), Baleman (TDK), Batfleck's tactical suit, and Battinson. Maybe a special 7th batman that's gold, black chrome, Batman Beyond or something. If you wanted to make it more of an MBS set, you could include each version of Joker, plus another character for each batmobile: '66 robin, '92 Catwoman, TAS Alfred, TDK Gordon, Snyder Superman, and Riddler. -

I'd say I got one right, though I did say it could also be the cloud city dining room. I wouldn't count that I said the $35 set might be mando S3 as neither me or promobricks knows what it actually is. Congrats to @The Stud for his 100% call of the Slave 1 Microfighter. -

Ah. An "I don't care" meh as opposed to a "this is mediocre" meh. My mistake. THANK YOU! Not sure why most people seem not to like these dioramas, I love the chosen scenes and think they have potential to be really great! I'm thinking about this. My guess is without the price hike, it would have been $60... and at that cost, I think it's going to be at a smaller scale than even the 2021 TIE. A TIE Bomber is better than no TIE bomber, but I wish it'd been awarded a higher price point, so it could be at least in scale with the 2021 TIE. -

Seriously, it's great. Really? The microfighter is a nice cheap way to get boba, and our first slave one microfighter. That's pretty solid IMO. We literally know NOTHING about the mando S3 sets aside from prices. How can they be meh already? I'll give to you that the helmets could be meh, but they aren't going away. It's something we're gonna have to deal with, they apparently sell well enough. -

fine. Though as someone who made the mistake of buying it, that is NOT a proper speeder bike. All is proceeding as I have forseen. Disagree! They're some pretty iconic and interesting scenes, and were you really expecting Andor to get multiple sets planned before it released? TBOBF only had two, and one of them was just the post credits from Mando S2. I think they said they both are. The Throne Room sets must sell great, this is our third in 8 years. It's most likely the 501st officer outfit from BFll, since the other figures are supposed to be from that. Slave 1 Microfighter is solid. Good way to get a previously pretty expensive Boba. 501st specialists pack is GREAT, though I wish it was an ARC trooper or commando instead of a second heavy. Definately getting at least 1, maybe two. I'm very happy that we're finally getting a new TIE Bomber, but it seems waaay to small at that price. Love that a GONK is included, but I've had my TIE bomber moc for over a year now, I'm gonna stick with that. P2 Rex helmet is great. P1 cody helmet less so. I feel a generic P1 helmet would have been better here. I love the throne room being a diorama. Might be the first Throne Room I pick up. Speeder Chase is also a nice idea, but I think the execution is going to be a bigger thing for this one. I hope it looks like the speeders are actually going fast. $35 and $100 sets being mando is a surprise to be sure, but whether or not it's a welcome one depends on, you know, what they are. Bold prediction: Beskar Mando and Baby Yoda are in at least one of them. $40 price hike for may UCS...ouch. Possible Boushh helmet makes sense as an exclusive, since it's more niche. -

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade! These seem pretty reasonable guesses, though I still think at least one of those is for an upcoming show (Mando S3, Ahsoka, or maybe Andor) The Boushh helmet is something I'm not sure on, I almost feel like more people recognize the Royal Guard's helmet from that movie. might be a bit harder to do though, with how it's almost like a plastic hood. I could see that, but I'm almost wondering if it'll be a blister pack with 2 212th troopers and Cody. I always forget we haven't had a slave 1 microfighter yet, that's definately at least somewhat likely. -

I mean, it's a battle pack, isn't it? More for bulking armies than getting new characters. Purge troopers and incinerator troopers would be welcome, but I think more people prefer in general to have the basic troops in BPs and specialists in other sets. -

My predictions. We'll see how accurate they are tonight, sounds like: 75344 ($9.99) January 1, 2023- BB shuttle microfighter with Hunter, OR Mando's N-1 with Beskar Mando. 75345 ($19.99) January 1, 2023 - Battle pack. My guess is either a rebel pack with 2x rebel commandos and 2x ewoks (build being a tree trap and/or speeder), or an imperial one with 2x stormies, a scout, and a navy trooper (with a speeder bike and bit of bunker) 75347 ($64.99) January1, 2023 - Hmm. I'm gonna say, either a B-wing OR a mando season 3 set. 75349 ($69.99) March 1, 2023 - Rex helmet. Pretty clear that it's what it's going to be 75350 ($69.99) March 1, 2023 - Royal Guard helmet OR P1 clone helmet (with extra parts to change rank) 75346 ($34.99) 1HY 2023 - I'm guessing a new Andor set OR a more spoilery mando s3 set. 75348 ($99.99) 1HY 2023 - Ahsoka Shuttle, like @Agent Kallus's prediction. 75352 ($99.99) 1HY 2023 - OT diorama. I could honestly see Final Duel, OR maybe the dining room scene from Cloud City, 75353 ($79.99) 1HY 2023 - Gut says mando diorama, maybe the bombed out cantina with the imperials outside OR the bridge of the arquitens. -

HELL YEAH! GONK ONLY WAVE BABEEE! I don't want to put all my guesses here, I'll save it for another thread, but the one I'm fairly confident in is that the micro is a micro BB shuttle, or maaaybe a micro Mando's N-1 Oh, by the way, Falconfan. I know you can't give all the info you have (for obvious reasons), but are you able to state whether the $500 superheroes set is marvel or DC? I think that's more chance than anything, though if I wanted to be a jag I could say that the imperial TIE pilot wasn't availble until 8 months after the helmet. But I do agree a Rex minifig is coming. -

Mandalorianknight replied to John Carter's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I keep the packaging of larger sets or ones that are special to me. So, while I throw out snowtrooper battle pack boxes, for instance, I keep the box of the galaxy explorer, and the 2021 tumbler. I say this because it's taught me a way to neutralize punch tabs: you can take a knife and slid it in the crevice between the tabs and the next flap of carboard to seperate them, giving you a completely new looking box. Because of that, I prefer them to taped boxes now! If it's just toilets and no sinks, showers/tubs, or toilet paper rolls, that might be moreso that for 6-8 year olds, the concept of a toilet is the strongest humor on the planet. -

Nah, it'll be the Endor Bunker. Either with the landing platform alongside it, and/or large trees to either side with a small ewok village. I gurantee lego's still too chicken to do a jabba's palace set again (slave leia, oola, that weird architectural complaint claiming that it's secretly a mosque), I mean look at Boba's palace: they didn't do the roof part like the old Jabba's palace, and I'll bet it's to avoid that complaint. While I think lego's aversion to jabba sets is moronic (he's a super popular character with kids! And Diego Luna!), I would prefer an Endor MBS, so I might be a little biased in that regard. Ironically, I think the most recent non 4+ endor sets have both been imperial shuttles? Personally I'd count tyderium since it has endor outfits, but not the 2021 one since it's just Final Duel luke and vader (minus his arms) and a pilot. I think the last non 4+ endor set with some endor-exclusive build was what, the 2013 village? Jeez. We've had multiple Hoth Waves since then, 3 Cantinas, 4 Luke's landspeeder models, etc. I mean, we've had multiple AT-APs and droid gunships since then. Generic P1 clones for the first time in 4 years aren't new enough for you? (granted, I suppose they only count if they're something you can plausibly obtain) But yeah that Hoth BP was weak. I much preferred the origional one, since it had a pilot and Mustache trooper. Rex helmet sounds nice. I think we've got a good idea of their strategy here: Lego starts their new gimmick sets (action battles, helmets, dioramas) with OT sets, since they sell best generally speaking. Then if it does poorly (action battles), it's scrapped. If it does well (helmets), they branch out with more OT and a bit of Mando. If it's proving to be succesful, that's when they bring in the PT stuff. My guess is we will not see many ST gimmick sets at this time. But anyway, my theory will be supported more if that new promobricks lists includes a Mando or PT diorama. -

Yeah, I can see that too. And a Keaton Batmobile would definately be nice. For how active I am here, the only DC set I own is the 2021 playscale Tumbler (and figures of Battinson and Batfleck), but my favorite batmobile design is the Keaton one, so that'd be an easy purchase. I would love a helmet piece for a comics BP. I feel like they use heads where it should be helmets too often. Like, MCU Cap should always have had a helmet IMO. MCU panther and comics daredevil I think are alright, but a Netflix Daredevil, for example, should have a helmet. So of couse in the case of 1992 catwoman, I think she needs a helmet, or at least a different ear style part. Yeah I agree with @Robert8 here. Gina Carano said something some people thought was offensive. Ezra Miller has committed multiple felonies and was on the run from the police for a fair chunk of time. (This whole situation infuriates me, if Ezra was just some normal guy and not a famous actor, he'd have gone to jail long before we got to this point. It's a completely different situation. This might be slightly more comparable to the Mythrol showing up in the new RC despite the accusations against the actor, though even then it's an alien, so it doesn't really look like the actor, and AFAIK they're still just accusations, no proof (Though I would suspect they are true, lego has a bit more leeway than the stuff Ezra Miller's been caught doing on camera or had police reports released about.) -

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like to think I keep up with this fairly well and I find Keaton's involvement confusing. Was he to be transported to the main universe? I agree, with a minor caveat: I don't think it's about having three Batmen on screen. We had three spider-men on screen and that went great. The issue is DC's lack of explanation about them. I think most people could reason out that The Batman isn't connected to the rest of DC (though the spinoffs might make it more confusing.... they really should have used an elseworlds label), but having Batfleck and Keaton at the same time is understandably confusing if they aren't very clear about why. Like (going off the plan from a year or two ago), if someone doesn't watch the flash, then aquaman 2 would be really confusing because why is the 1989/1992 batman in the universe that Batfleck was in? With Suicide Squad I completely get why lego didn't make sets. With something like Snyder Cut, I could see an 18+ set or the exact designs showing up in generic sets. Something like Daredevil or Punisher, I could see a possibility of the netflix suits showing up in otherwise comic sets, but stuff like the Bugle's comic versions of them is obviously more likely. But for The Suicide Squad or Deadpool, where it's not just a bit of language and some violence, but constant profanity and fountains of blood, (not quite my tempo but I'm not knocking the films) it makes sense for lego to avoid even the characters as much as possible. Especially in a case like TSS, where the characters aren't that popular (except harley) and mostly only known for that movie (again except harley). Deadpool's a massivly popular character in a TON of stuff, but since his live action appearances have been so...mature, the closest we've got for him in almost a decade has been SDCC figures of silly deadpool varients. I'm trying to stay out of this but geez man, that's a bit rude. Though it does fit with "DC fans on their way to ignore the mods and keep arguing about biology/pronouns/etc on a thread about legos." -

Maybe a darker vest? Not sure he needs it, just spitballing. In any case, it wouldn't be the exact same prints of course, but I think you're right that it'd be pretty much identical. Man, how can one IP have a franchise so good and a franchise so bad from the same company? Like sure, you could compare Winter Soldier or the avengers films to Eternals, but that's nowhere near the level of difference between ITSV and morbius. It's closer to the gap between, like, Dark Knight and birds of prey or suicide squad 2016, and even then, those are seperated by around a decade. -

Does black panther have a helmet, or do you just mean the ears? Otherwise, yeah, that's definately a nice option. I suppose there is no real reason to keep a flash in it. Wasn't he replaced by Batflek for Aquaman? I'm guessing all these changes are reminding him of Morbius and giving him cold feet. I don't blame him. The new plan sounds alright if it comes to fruition, but I'm not sure what Keaton's place would be in it, and of course, DC's pronounced their grand plans before. -

While reading this, I was so confused, because it really felt like a fake comment with how over-the-top negative it was. And then, of course, it was a fake! Ultimately very funny. I tried to add bathrooms in the moon base I made as a compainion set, but there just wasn't room. I imagine it was similar for the actual designers with the ship: there just isn't a ton of interior. -

They could even still use a flash, just not his flash. A reuse of comics barry, a newer suit for either Wally, etc. They could even keep the overall flash theme and add one or more of his rogues. 100%. Especially with someone like Ezra Miller, who is clearly extremely unwell in the best case scenario, and evil in the worst case. That's the last I'll say on it unless there's another development in the case or movie.
