Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm logged in, I only see the top 9 posts. I mean it's going to make finding and relying ANY information more difficult... And I can't find anything about it in the news...I don't like this. I feel like people should have noticed and written articles by now. @Ghostcat That is an AWESOME Veronica moc. -

I've had "the dream" bionicle fans talk about before. Is not fun to wake up and realize it wasn't real. (C'mon lego, if you marketed it properly it could actually do well!) C'mon, you really think we'd get characters from the wider EU? -

I think that's definately possible, and it would be pretty cool. Though the MOC image looks rather static, I'd hope they'd be able to do a more dynamic diorama. Do we know if this was a mistake, or some dumb thing they're doing intentionally? Like, has anyone asked their customer service (do they even have customer service?). I know it's just about legoleaks, which aren't super essential info, but it does kinda spook me to be reminded how easily these sites can just... turn off the flow of information. -

The Tie Bomber was a dream you had. They aren't really making it. You will forget such notions of a lego tie bomber. -

You know what? Screw it. $500 hulkbust. No figures. Hulk's head and hands like BP. "Expect disappointment and you'll never be disappointed" -

He's definately one of the highlights of the show. While watching it I was worried people would just decide he's a bad guy (which don't get me wrong, he's doing bad things), but people seem to agree that from his perspective he's doing the right thing. I'm glad the mods are letting us run with this, but I'll try to talk about the set a bit just in case. Super accurate, to a surprising extent, but it really needed 2 more corpos, ESPECIALLY if it's at a $70 price tag. Syril's at $14 on bricklink just from being a new figure in an expensive set, but I don't think he'll decrease much given that people will want to army-build. (Actually, speaking of him, he's the most inaccurate part of the set. The re-used face doesn't work well, which is annoying but a problem seen pretty commonly in themes like marvel, but then the suit is the wrong colors. Mata blue and yellow instead of navy blue and orange-red.) -
I commented back on the lego ideas entry back when you had it there, but I'll add here that I like how you built the little trees by Lewa. The figures and environment are great of course, but it's little details like that that I like.

Honestly I think it got progressively better. The lack of more Corpos is the biggest issue, I think. It should have had two soldiers, at least. I'm definately trying to wait until it goes on sale. Not necessarily. They could have just been shown bits that weren't too mature, I mean heck, it's not unlikely that they were just shown concept art and costume images. -

Many thanks. Yeah, it's really annoying. I would guess that that's the figure from the hulkbuster D2C, but the guy just slapped existing parts on the torso. I bet we'd at least see a new face print, that figure just looks thrown-together to me for some reason. The Prophesized Day of Morbuilding is only what, 4 months out? Morbius images will leak within a matter of months. -

Can anyone say the account of someone who has the image, if that's allowed? For some reason I can't see recent posts on instagram when searching a hashtag... -

Totally agree with both, as well as This stuff feels so much more like the writers actually care about star wars than the "fan-service" of "LOOK! It's *character*! They're from *thing*! Clap now!" and then proceeding to stretch, if not break, canon like Obi-Wan and BB did and TOTJ supposedly will. This is me, except my wallet is so low uh, I mean, I have more restraint and am waiting for a sale before buying them. It really is just an incredible show. -

Stop making me want to buy two of each set, man! Amazing as always. Brings me back to the early days of Bionicle, back when they had combo models for each set. Though an Iron Man/Wolveriene/Black Panther mech combo might have the colors clash too much. -

Aren't those all repeat figures, though? Lego's mishandling of Rebels is one of the biggest SW mistakes they've made. They frontloaded the early season with sets for vehicles that had less than a second of screen time (coughs in wookiee gunship), and then because those sold poorly, they were worried to make pretty much any sets for the later seasons, when the show was more popular. (Arguably, this can be placed on lucasfilm, not lego, if they were the ones who had lego make so many sets for the first season) -

Andor... wow. I've been kinda cynical about shows based on franchises I like (Given certain recent shows *cough* LOTR *cough*), and I didn't realize how cynical I was about Andor until I saw it... it feels good to be so wrong, to finish an episode of a spinoff show and want more so badly. I loved it. I loved the varied moralities of the characters. No one in it is a pure hero or a pure villain. I loved the cinematography, I loved the action, I just.. it feels good to love a new show again. All that said, I loved the show enough that I might consider getting the Andor set, as critical as I've been of it. I think the andor figure is super inaccurate (don't like the beard print, hair is too long, skin tone is wrong), Karyn is inaccurate, and the Tac-Pod's interior is wrong, but man do I want to have a set from this show. We need as a set ASAP, though I worry that lego will decide the show is too mature. -
Love them! You've really captured how goofy they look while still making them feel star wars. The difference between the proportions of a minifigure and action figure gets in the way a little bit (The MTV-7 feels a bit oversized, for example), but in general you've done a good job negating that. The INT-4 has to be my favorite, you've recreated the design so well. I made an MLC-3 as I think the first MOC I ever posted here (albiet based on the "canon" force arena design), and this really takes me back.

I agree that that's the most likely option, but I have a little bit of hope left. Don't Johnny and Danny look pretty much exactly the same as GR? I know Johnny has a different outfit once he stops being Ghost Rider, but as GR don't they look pretty much the same? I was thinking of agents of shield, probably. Maybe the avengers run where they fought the celestials? Did his face look more skull-like there? No. The set will release without lego saying anything. They will copyright strike children playing with it. -

Guys, Cassian Andor dies. (But actually, this is a good guideline, thank you for reminding everyone about it) I hope they use the carbonite mold, but I worry they will have devolved to the 1x2x5. I wouldn't be entirely opposed to a brick-built carbonite slab, but it would have to be much better than the 1x2x5, and to be honest I don't think a good one can be done with existing parts. That's... really cool. Aghhhh, I really want this now, but I just got the AT-AT last year, and I'm already planning on going for the Bugle before it retires... my wallet's gonna hate me. (Do I really need to go to college next semester? I feel like the UCS razor crest is more important.) -
[CATC] Edie and Wicker Witches
Mandalorianknight replied to Agent Kallus's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
See, I've seen lots of good builds for this contest (yours included ofc), but one thing I felt was missing a bit from a lot of entries was story/a realistic theme. Yours has a solid story setup and hits a marketing demographic that lego would totally buy into. It sort of reminds me of a "cooler" version of elves, and I could totally see my little sister playing with these if they were around when she was a kid. (She did not enjoy friends, and preferred ninjago) -
Thanks! I tried to make something that was on the surface simple enough for kids, and having a good message. (In this case the main message being unity/teamwork). I just realized while typing this comment that most themes have 5-6 colorful heroes with different weapons (ninjago, nexo knights, and bionicle), so I guess mine fits there too. I'm not sure I understand, sorry. Is this a mythos you made, like the stuff in your signature, or is there like a general lore for this subforum I've missed?

You mean the trans-neon green sword piece? Thanks, I guess. It's just a sword in an existing color, nothing too special Thanks very much! It's high praise indeed to say you'd actually want to buy the set were it real. They definately do. Some themes like SW routinely have $80+ sets with 3 minifigs... IMO there should be roughly 1 minifig for every $10 the set is worth. (So 6 in a $60 set, 10 in a $100, etc, and battle/figure packs excluded, of course) Thank you for noticing the skeleton integration (in the story and sets). Generally with lego themes the skeletons are just kinda seen as "oh no, bad guys" (looking at you, ninjago) with nothing in the story about how unnatural it would be to fight a skeleton. In this theme, this is, like, the first instance of magic. The paladins' powers appear around the same time the skeletons show up. So they're really terrifying both in their numbers and strength, and also just in the concept alone, since up until this point the world acted as a fairly grounded medieval world.

Thank you, and yup, it's him. I totally think that his Hutt build is high quality enough to be in a set. Molded creatures and bigfigs being included in sets cause them to have a higher price-per-part ratio anyway, so this doesn't change much. It's not like a brick-built jabba would cause the rest of the set to be less parts than if he was molded, or the set to be more expensive. Also, 150? I'd be surprised if an accurately-sized brick-built jabba was more than half that. -

A Morbacolyte to recognize a Morbacolyte, if you will. I think unfortunately it's most likely to be a ghost rider bike (IIRC it's a bike, not a car) sized up to fit a ghost rider mech. Even with the $15 mech pricing now, I can't see a single figure scaled bike at $20 of value. There always could be another side build we just don't know about, but.... I wouldn't get my hopes up. Here's the three possibilities I see: Ghost rider mech and bike scaled to the mech with just a ghost rider figure. Figure scaled (or, you know, hilariously oversized but lego claims figure scaled) Ghost rider bike and also ghost rider mech with a ghost rider figure and MAYBE a villain. Figure scaled (or, you know, hilariously oversized but lego claims figure scaled) Ghost rider bike and villain mech with ghost rider, a villain, and Spider-Man. The one thing I'm allowing myself to hope for here is a Johnny Blaze figure. Robbie Reyes is cool and all, I like the challenger, but god that robotic looking skull is moronic. I swear I've seen Reyes with a more normal GR look in the comics, why did they choose that 2099-looking head for that set? -

This sounds lame as I say it, but one is a diorama and the other is a playset. I assume this would just be a large version of the main room, with no roof, as opposed to the boba's palace set, and the dioramas do tend to be a different, more detailed style. I know brick built creatures are a lot more unpopular, but I saw a really good brick-built Hutt Council moc the other day on instagram. I can't find it, but they looked to be almost the exact same size as the mold, and were pretty good. With printed eyes I think they'd really work well.
