  1. Yup. this is absurd EXACTLY. Lego's guidelines are so stupid. Also, didn't lego basically go "suck it up" and just keep the set in production until it's standard retirement anyway? What happened to that lego? Jeez, it's an adventure movie from the 80s. Of course it's not politically correct in 2023. This is so aggravating to me that completed sets are being cancelled because lego's afraid of doing anything that could make anyone upset EXACTLY. Short round was not racist. Kinda sad he's not in the 5th one at all, though. Did not realize Kali was an actual hindu god. That is a bit of an oof, even if the film clearly is not attempting to depict mainline hinduism. I'd be ok with the set being made without the statue, but cancelling it entirely would really piss me off.
  2. 100% agree. It's the only way the price makes any sense whatsoever. Yeah, that's a good idea. The dark red speeder would definately be a nice way to make the set more unique. Thanks, I totally agree that AOTC has a TON of lego set material. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the swamp speeder was 4+ in terms of piece size. Yup. Forgot to place the quotes, but that's 100% the quote to use for that set.
  3. Short legs don't often have printing, and I can't see lego going out of their way to make some for Yoda when he's never had them before. (I was agreeing with you) Those have been out for awhile, but... dual molded how? In what colors?
  4. Definately not new legs, since... you know... what would they change? I suppose a new torso is likely, given it's been 6 years since the last PT yoda. Probably not a new head though, since the current one seems to be doing fine. I'm gonna ignore the specifics of this whole "fleet troopers vs honor guard" argument and just once again say that they could totally include both, and it saves em money on repeated prints. (Also, if you're using the "CC as pilot" example for why we wouldn't get both, I'll use the counter example of every other set)
  5. My guess is they were originally going to make Klarion, but switched to Val-Zod at some point. Maybe they figured a superman variant would be more interesting.
  6. Totally agree, Dodonna's quite likely. I will also take a Chrome Vader, since fleet troopers are a given. I'm not sure why people don't think fleet troopers are a given. Even with them+ the honor guard both having 2 figs, it lets them re-use prints I could definately see both appearing. Not to get too far off topic, but I think this is the probably layout assuming 12 figs. Celebration Luke, Han, and Leia, Chewbacca, Dodanna, 1x pilot, C-3PO, R2-D2, 2x fleet trooper, 2x honor guard. I could see C-3PO and R2 being swapped for other pilots or ground crew or something, but otherwise I think this layout is all but confirmed if there's 12 figs.
  7. Always good to see you around here, and I think your Yavin IV figures are spot on. I could see the pilot being someone else, but other than that I think you're 100% right. The swamp speeder is more complicated. It has less pieces than the literal battle pack from a decade ago, and yet is almost double the price. Value-wise I think at absolute minimum it needs 4 figs+2 droids, but I think we're more likely to just get 4 figs. Anything less than that and I think they're REALLY stretching that price point. I mean, that's a quarter a piece. If it's got the figs of a standard set, I think it fails. AOTC wave. Maybe my least favorite movie, but it has excellent set potential: Microfighters: AT-TE microfighter ($9.99): Clone Captain Geonosian Starfighter ($9.99): Geonosian pilot Republic gunship vs Hailfire droid microfighters ($19.99): Clone pilot (New helmet mold) and geonosis B1 Battle Packs: Clone troopers battle pack ($19.99): 3x clone trooper, 1x clone sergeant, BARC speeder, and a small bit of geonosis terrain. Geonosian Arena battle pack ($19.99): 2x winged geonosian, 4x geonosian b1, and a brick-built orray. Duel: Kamino showdown ($19.99): Bit of kamino landing pad with Obi-Wan and Jango Fett. Comes with a feature for Obi-wan to slide off the side. Geonosian starfighter ($29.99): Geonosian starfighter with Padme Amidala, 1x clone Lieutenant and 1x geonosian. Speeder Chase ($44.99): both coruscant speeders. Comes with Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Zam Wessel, and a probe. Battle of Geonosis ($79.99): Hailfire droid, largest Clone Command center yet, and some terrain with an explode feature. Comes with Yoda, 1x clone commander, 2x clone trooper, 2x geonosian battle droid, and 2x super battle droid Jango Fett's slave 1 ($109.99): Slave 1 with interior cockpit and small interior cargo hold. Comes with Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R4-P17, Lama Su, and Taun We. Republic Gunship ($149.99): Republic gunship with 2x clone pilot, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, 1x clone captain, 2x clone trooper, and Count Dooku. UCS: UCS AT-TE ($549.99): Clone trooper (printed arms), Yoda MBS: Geonosis Arena ($349.99): Semicircular arena with stands and gate+balcony on one end, as well as the three pillars, 3 brick built beasts, and a midi-scale gunship (holds one pilot and 4 passengers). Includes Anakin, Padme, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Mace Windu, Coleman Trebor, Bultar Swan, 1x clone pilot, 3x clone trooper, Count Dooku, Poggle the Lesser, Nute Gunrey, Wat Tambor, Jango Fett, 4x geonosian, 4x b1 geonosian battle droid, 2x b2 battle droid. Quote sets: Kamino Investigation ($59.99): Kamino hallway with Obi-Wan, Lama Su, and Taun We. A window behind them would have a forced-perspective build of the cloning facility in the background. Geonosis duel ($79.99): Geonosis hanger with Yoda, Dooku, Obi-Wan, and Anakin. Can be set up to portray either the 2v1 or Yoda vs Dooku.
  8. For me the only two things that really matter are price and the source material. I haven't liked the post-endgame MCU much, so since 2019 I've only bought the bugle, a couple mechs, and bricklinked NWH Spidey. But so long as there are reasonably priced spidey sets, I'll probably keep buying at least a couple, just like so long as Spidey and Daredevil stays in the MCU I'll stick around for the movies and shows they show up in no matter how awful everything around them gets. (I will say, quantumania has officially changed my attitude about the films from assuming I'll see it and only not doing so if it's bad to assuming I won't see it unless it's getting good reviews and/or has spidey or daredevil.) Yeah, I don't get the quinjet hate at all. Are people just not wanting it because it probably wouldn't have 20+ figs?
  9. Yup. There's no weird agenda against the prequels. Now that doesn't mean lego isn't making absolutely wild choices, but they definately don't have some hidden anti-prequel bias. People are seeing ghosts. That's such an obscure ship that I would say it can't be it, but at the same time the Yoda set itself is so inexplicable that it really wouldn't even surprise me if it was actually the Yaddle set. Definately the good cop, but you and cloneopatra definately do a good job here. I'd like to formally request that Cloneopatra should just start throwing chairs at people to become the bad cop.
  10. As funny as this meme is, you KNOW we're gonna start seeing a ton of instagram accounts posting that the DC D2C is a tower of fate. Avengers tower is 100% doable at the price point, but I'm sure it'll be some bust or something. A UCS quinjet is something I actually think could do fairly well, too.
  11. Jesus, not this again. NO, lego has no reason to "sabotage" prequel sets. If sets sell, lego would want to sell them. Not to mention, after they realized people wanted clones, they've made a TON of clones over the past few years. Sorry for picking on you specifically, but I see this theory all the time, and it's not only not supported by any real facts or statistics, but there's absolutely no motive for lego to do it. I mean, I'm sorry, but what? Really? Lego wants to sabotage prequel sets because... what, they don't like money?
  12. Seconding this, I remember that guy. It'd be nice, but I think prints might be more likely. Yoda's starfighter 2: Inflation boogaloo is almost more astonishing than UCS Chewbacca. I think I'm gonna have a brain aneurysm trying to understand lego's thought process here.
  13. It's too late, UCS Dobby's sock is already coming. If Ashnflash's UCS batmobile that fits the buildible batman happens, we'll know they monitor the form for the sole purpose of taking joke suggestions literally.
  14. UCS Hat and Whip. You heard it here first!
  15. I mean, we did get an infinity saga wave this year. And we know there's at least 1 more small infinity saga set coming.
  16. Isn't it obvious, all other batmen are equal compared to his magnificence.
  17. 1992 in the polybag name refers to the 19th anniversary of Klarion's creation in 1973. How could we have missed this? I would LOVE a ZSJL set, but it'll never happen. R-rated and fairly controversial, even if it's my favorite DC film of the last 10 years. Counterpoint: George Clooney exists.
  18. Hahaha (I don't actually buy lottery tickets, so it'd be a hell of a lottery win). You're definately lucky there, though personally I love the build of the bugle. Though SW appears to be having a rough year with some of the other larger sets ($200 chewbacca? Really?) This is now the only option I will accept. Comes with 25 John Constantine figures and Black Adam.
  19. Either this is the year that I win the lottery, the year that I sell my kidney, or the year with the biggest differential between sets I want and sets I get. Rivendell, NWH, potentially two massive superhero D2Cs, Yavin IV, one of my favorite clone legions potentially becoming available for Army-building, etc.
  20. They could also just do printed noses
  21. I know the $525 one is the marvel set, but you horrifyingly might be on to something for the $400ish DC one. AoU's tower looks significantly different than Avengers 1's, though. My guess is they'd combine figs from Avengers and Endgame, since the tower has the same design there. ^Assuming it's a tower and not a giant set of Hulk Hands to go with the hammer and shield
  22. No way it's another Keatonmobile already. My money's on Arkham or the Batcave.
  23. DC: "I don't have to win. We just both have to lose!" Watch marvel include microfighters this wave. Look I get that you personally are only excited about minifigures we've literally never had before, but a lot of people are excited for figs that only appeared as a book character a decade ago, or new rebels like the honor guard, or new pilots. For me NWH is ~ equal to yavin in terms of "holy sh*t they're actually making it", so they're pretty equal for me right now. Ironically, both have small sets that could be made better depending on the figs (if the cap and widow bikes are TWS or if the swamp speeder is 327th respectively) That said, I'm eager to hear more fully what's coming for both superheroes themes. Marvel's doing rough overall this wave, but I think there's some real potential for DC just given that getting any system set is a win like @THELEGOBATMAN said.
  24. Exactly. OT sets have tended to sell the best for the longest time and are the most "buy because you like the specific set regardless of the era" thing. If they put a new clone in one of the mechs it would instantly become a bestselling set regardless of the fact that most of the buyers probably wanted the clone and not the mech, which tells lego nothing on how mechs in general would sell. Definately could be. Agree with most of this stuff, but I will say I'm not sure how well Boba and the Stormtrooper will do, especially with Boba in a $10 set already. It's been long enough that the Kashyyyk clones would likely be new prints anyway (I mean, the helmet would have to be), so i don't think it'd be "cheaper", more just a continuation of their weird obsession with the 41st. Renown's been around for ages, and all his stuff is accurate. Foggy's more of an unknown, but as others have said, falconfan backed him up.
  25. I'm not sure the servers could handle another one, but if you've got info, Foggy, by all means, you've proven yourself with those SW leaks. It is exceedingly strange that there's no Lizard in the NWH set. Feels like a really odd choice, especially since they're already putting so much effort into it with the other peters, goblin, electro, and ock.
