LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

He's already got us all believing in it. If it's fake (I'd be pretty impressed if it was at this point but I suppose it's definately possible), he's already achieved his goal and notoriety. -

This is the biggest lego leak ever if real. (I'd heard some suspicous stuff about the x mansion model being someone's old MOC or something, but no confirmation.) It is unfortunate that these may not all see release, but I'm hoping for Barad-Dur and the Batman skyline at least. As for the sail barge itself... it's a UCS sail barge. IDK. Is what it is. -

I think it looks excellent, if it is indeed real. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be, I heard the X-mansion image is just someone's old moc? -

I think the only locations that sell it are New York, London, and Hong Kong. Star-Lord helmet looks excellent, but $10 more than the SW helmets for a hollow one with no top? What? And between the dragon and LOTR it's starting to look like I owe @JeanGreyForever an apology for my skepticism. -

Listening isn't enough. If you're not actively campaigning for the Alfpersteveiverse, you aren't allowed to watch the films. We did, but I feel like the lego of 2023 isn't the same as even the lego of 2015/2016 in terms of what they'll put in sets. I'm holding you too this, but you have to rebrand your account as "Morb Adam" I keep hearing this, but I can't understand why they'd introduce a new bigfig style in 2021 and then just...stop. It's been a year and a half. We don't need to panic yet. I would say overall I want more or less the same as you for this wave. Nightwing with arm printing or dual-molded arms would be a nice stretch goal, though I'll settle for any new or updated members of the bat family (aside from batgirl and damian, we've had them recently enough.) I suppose there is some hope then. Though, re: aquaman and flash... so what? There was just a batman movie. The general audience can handle the concept of multiple iterations of the same character at this point. (Plus, all they'd need to do to differentiate them is a more standard aquaman and, like, Wally or Jay as flash. Or just a Barry played by someone who didn't get really into reverse-flash method acting.) -

The Chad move would be firing absolutely everyone and making a phase without the big three. Make the core trio Alfred, Perry White, and Steve Trevor with a rope. (Or, you know, making solo films off core Leaguers and then capping the phase with the formation of the league. Which is what it sounded like they were doing. But now we don't even have a full WW film, no Flash, no Aquaman, no Cyborg, mm, other leaguers.) No, he's definately biased that way. Those characters are waaaaay too obscure to be featured immediately in phase one of a relaunch, especially a phase subtitled "gods and monsters". It's a pseudo peacemaker season 2. Rumor is Momoa may be returning as Lobo, but there isn't even an aquaman project this phase. Gadot, maybe, but still. All that lip service about a clean slate when he fired Cavill right after he came back and blam, his personal ones are back. It'd be like if after phase 2 of the MCU they rebooted and the only actors to return were the guardians and Chris Hemsworth thor. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I'll take pretty much anything at this point, but here are some of my hopes: Semi-realistic: Clark and Diana in the sets. It's been years since our last versions of the characters. A really nice batmobile would be nice too. Somewhat Unrealistic: Barry (doubt they'd put a non-movie flash into a set within months of a movie flash), some Court of Owls representation Pipe Dream: Red hood. Given that they'll only put Punisher in an 18+ set I doubt we'll see Jason's Hood anytime soon, but I really like the character for showing Batman's failure, and for his little team he's built up with Artemis and Bizarro. It definately isn't about the relaunch. I doubt we'll see a single one of those projects this year. probably just generic batman -

It's Armani. ugh, only 5 no way home sets? I was hoping for 15. I'm glad no one's actually mad. the DC theme has been largely dead for years, so it's incredible that we're finally getting a new wave. -

I like it, it's very cool. Though I can't get it out of my head that it looks like he's wearing reverse underwear or something. -

The only one I'm really excited about at all is the Lantern Corps project. The Waller show shows EXACTLY what I knew Gunn was gonna do- despite all his talk about a full reboot and removing Cavill, his favorites get to stay. Honestly this is so frustrating, it's gonna set back the odds of getting a proper DCEU by another decade or so. -
Thank you! I honestly was a little worried people would find it underwhelming. I'm glad you like it! A small update on future plans: 1: X-wing instructions should be out later today, and Reaper instructions should be out later this week/next week (hopefully). On the other hand, after building the optimus prime set I'm really motivated to build more transformers in that scale, so unless someone was looking forewards to the Hammerhead corvette scene diorama I'll be putting that on the backburner.

The other two points are definately solid points (It's possible lego didn't halt production and is just storing them, but I think it would have leaked by now if that was the case), but as for the first, it doesn't have to be the case at all. A black 2x4 or re-used batman face aren't going to leak because there's no way to prove they're from the new set, they aren't interesting, etc. All this means is that out of the 3-5 new prints for the set, the torso was the only one that leaked. -

Was that supposed to look like the Abbey Road cover? Either way, yeah. A sentinal would probably be about Optimus Prime's size max. -

My guess is that given how troubled the production of that film is and how many times it's been delayed, they were at the stage of printing the torsos, and stopped. -

I don't know if the boushh helmet is evidence of it, but given that Chewie's supposed to be included I'd say the helmet will definately be in it, since it's representing the "he's holding a thermal detonator" scene -

40580 Buildable Tahu: Bionicle returns in 2023!
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Bionicle was almost solely for children. Doesn't mean it's wrong to like it as an adult, but it's true. No need to get all defensive. My point is that G1 bionicle fans are adults now, and more likely to buy something like Optimus Prime, an Icons set, or some other set meant at least in part for adults than ninjago, city, or dots. -

It's because it's from the sequels, I'd guess. Not a particularly popular time period. We know lego likes to open new lines or sublines with the OT. My guess is now that they've opened it to mando and clones we'll see a kylo helmet next year or the year after. Though that said, the Boushh helmet confuses me. It looks excellent, it's just not exactly the most iconic helmet. Anyone else see that video they put out for the clone helmets? It's a nice little touch. -

DC superheroes MOC wave: The Brick Knight Returns
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
I had to go back and check but yes, one of the wave 3 ones is a cyborg mech. I do need ideas for a third though. (Second is another batman one in the same way we've had two iron man mechs) -
Welcome to Eurobricks! I'll send you a PM that you can respond to. Love the username, by the way. High praise indeed. I have to agree that the larger scale is an issue with a lot of the official x-wings.

DC superheroes MOC wave: The Brick Knight Returns
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
Haha, I think they could put anyone new in charge of lego DC and it'd do better than it currently is. Glad to hear you like the bat-tank. And that I kept the mechs the same. The 2023 design is a huge downgrade IMO. Don't worry, the series will continue. It might be awhile (I primarily do star wars mocs), but I do have the sets for wave 3 planned out. It takes a bit of a turn from the previous ones, and the only hint I'll give for it is that the Doomsday fight doesn't go well. Thank you! My rationale was with Batman and a main leaguer in every set, there's room to throw in some new characters. Though not having a real doomsday fig (I refuse to count the mighty micros fig) is crazy. Even in the years when DC wasn't dead you'd think we'd have had one in that 2012-2018 era. Thank you! I blame DC management. The movies can be blamed at least in part on just how successful the MCU has been, but we haven't had a proper DC cartoon in over a decade. Kids just aren't being exposed to the characters. Yeah, the Bat-Pods set is definately a bit lacking in color. Realistically lego would have made it a green and purple joker-colored building, but I wanted to make something less cartoonish. That said, I probably could have put in some graffiti or something to give it some color. (Though that set pushes the lego-realisticness in a few ways, I'm not sure they'd want to put a rack with knives and a crowbar next to a captured batman.) Thank you! I am very happy with how the bat-mech turned out. The superman mech thing was unintentional, but I'm now going to pretend the bubble canopy was meant as a nod to his classic roots. -

Cody's helmet is near-perfect. Rex's suffers from the same issue as the stormtrooper and TIE pilot, but is still very well done. It might be a little hard to do the cracked one without excessive stickers, but it'd be cool to see them pull it off. -
Welp, a half-year has passed since I first did this, and lego DC continues to wither away. The only sets we know are coming this year are a technic batcycle and a batmobile based on a very troubled production. So once again, I've decided to make a wave myself, this time incorporating some new criteria. My constraints for this wave were as follows, to ensure it would be something lego could realistically do: Standard wave type: I can't do 80 $800 D2C Batman sets. For this wave, as with the last, I've made 3 mech gimmicks like the marvel sets (still in the old style, as I dislike the ninjago limb style), and 5 standard system sets, as well as one polybag. Iconicity: This basically translates to "Batman needs to be a focus", since, well, he's the most popular DC character, and what seems to sell best with kids. Maybe with the new DCU other characters will become more popular, but for now, Batman's the star of the show. In addition, one of the sets is a tie-in to the new shazam film, as cross-promotion like lego tends to do with it's DC sets. For each set, I also only used existing pieces in existing colors for the builds. (With one exception, you'll see it later.) This is so the builds can be built IRL if one desires. The figures, on the other hand, do not follow this rule, and have more arm-and-leg dual molding than would be realistic, just since Stud.io has a limited print inventory and I wanted to differentiate who was who. For this wave I have also started dabbling in custom prints. Only two sets have it this time (two of the mechs), but I may try and make custom figure prints later. Now that I've rambled for a paragraph, let's get started: Additional images and descriptions for each set are in spoilers for space, but do not actually contain spoilers for anything. FINAL BATSUIT POLYBAG: 49 pieces SUPERMAN MECH: 150 pieces FLASH MECH: 150 pieces (again, flash helmet isn't in Stud.io, ignore the batman helmet) GREEN LANTERN MECH: 167 pieces BAT-GLIDER: GRID ATTACKS: 157 pieces BAT-TANK: WAR OF THE GODS: 371 pieces BAT-COPTER: SHAZAM SKY BATTLE: 533 pieces BAT-PODS: RESCUING BATMAN: 676 pieces BAT-MECH: DOOMSDAY: 948 pieces Let me know what you guys think!
