  1. Zeus: the existing lightning bolt in light blue. Print with white robes and golden ornament on his Arms. New hairpiece with golden ornament and new white beard. Hades: the old Dumbledore beard. New headgear with black ornaments. Orc warrior: new hairpiece with orc ears. Inspired by the Warcraft orcs. Dwarfen Guard: octagonal shield like the Erebor dwarfs have. Recolor of Zeus'beard, recolour of the old castle dwarfen helmet without wings in gold. Elven adventurer. Leather armor. Recolour or Hyperion's (?) small Cape. New cowl with elven ears. Orange Uthan-suit guy with Zurg's long arms. Kangaroo suit with new headgear and tail piece.
  2. You are 100% right with that. I think there is a lot of potential for cool playsets, top. The reason I doubt we will see a Scooby line in the near future is a different one. Lego wants to maximize their profits. That means it isn't about satisfying collectors. They take a licence, bring a few sets including some popular characters and go on to the next one. We already had a Scooby wave not long ago. Lots of children own the whole gang already. Some because they got them on their own, some because of older brothers and sisters. Most adult collectors own them probably, too. The Ghostbusters on the other hand had one ideas set long ago, three dimensions sets (not counting the one for the Reboot), the HQ no child was getting because of the prize and a Ecto 1&2 for the terrible reboot. There is a much higher chance to reach buyers that don't own an older version. Especially the UCS Ecto1 is something completely new.
  3. 1) Azrael - Arkam Knight Version 2) Mad Hatter 3) Hush 4) Bigfig Solomon Grundy 5) a good Wayne manor. Similar detail in the interieur like the one room in the old batcave set had... just more rooms. At best with details from different batman movies. Would be popular for people that only collect modulars. Would be popular for girls playing dollhouse even if they dont like superheroes (if the price isn't above the 200€ point where it becomes a pure collectors item)... I know, it won't happen :/
  4. I think it is important to be precise. If someone says "that's racist" he should be able to say why. Is the word monkey racist now even when used for a gorilla or chimpanzee? Then i take everything back and apologize. If not there is nothing to critisize in the design. There is a theme called monkey kid about a little monkey. The artwork shows an ape... another animal would be strange, wouldn't it? It was said the ape is a blackface. That's what was concerning me and it has in fact to do with this period of history. The blackface depiction with big red lips and a certain type of cheeckbones is no monkey. Here we have a little cartoon monkey without any cheekbones, lips or nose which happens to be red and black in a completely different way. It is just no blackface so i wouldn't use the term. When we say it is still racist because it is a monkey in these colours and monkey can be used as an insult for the same group which is discriminated against with another depiction in the same colours, we reach a point where you can call nearly everything racist. As far as i know from a TV Show about prison inmates "Toad" is another racist term for black people. Would a black poison frog with red dots on his back be racist then, too? As far as it seems to me this discussion is all about bias. When I - as a gamer and historian - see a unicorn i think about Witcher 3 and some mythological stories inappropriate for children first. That doesn't mean that unicorns are inappropriate for children. When racism is quite present in my thoughts and a childrens toy reminds me of it that doesn't mean the toy is racist.
  5. @Maple Excuse me?! I studied history and wrote several papers on colonial history and abolition. I know most likely much more than you. All i did was politely and honestly interested asking if there are varriants of the "classic" blackface depiction, because the monkey doesn't have the fat red lips. He has the red in circles around his eyes. Except the two colours there is nothing that he has in common with it. He isn't closer to a blackface than the cartoon duck. I know that the monkey insult is a thing in America. The sh*tstorm about the commercial for a "coolest monkey in the jungle"-T-Shirt worn by a child with dark skincolour was in German news, too. Blackface depiction are much older than the insult of Africans beeing monkeys. The blackface depiction has nothing to do with a monkey. You are totaly mixing up 2 different things you think to see with a certain bias and react in an insulting way towards people who did nothing wrong.
  6. Ok, are they different from the "classic" comic depiction with extremely fat red lips in a completely black face? I am just curious because i had some classes about postcolonial studies and saw a bunch of illustrations from the last century.
  7. When i opened this site this sentence was the first thing i saw completely out of context... It sounds just so wrong ... The two cmfs with ponchos had no torso print, too. The new mould is fantastic. I hope we see it recoloured as a plush animal. Would be great in a modular toy shop. I´d just wish the piñatas colors were a bit different with bright red, standard yellow and medium blue instead of these... The one thing confusing me is the plastic bag. Looks like the ones used for knockoff figures, doesn´t it?
  8. I don´t see ANY similarity to a blackface caricature except the colours black and red... It is just a funny little cartoon ape smiley with black fur. If that´s racist Calimero, the little duck would be, too ... https://www.pinterest.de/pin/76139049926765285/ Take a look on the bull´s horns and the purple sword... Would be great for a Balrog, if they appear in the right colours... http://en.qmjm.com/index.php?g=Home&m=Index&a=product_series_list&id=729&l=en As long as it is free from Chima-Scifi-Steampunk-stuff it could be quite a nice theme delivering new castle-armor-prints, headgear, wepons and so on like Ninjago is from time to time.
  9. To be honest i don't get the discussion about who is a "real" AFOL or just a licence fan and how that would make a difference in sales. Lego was a big part of my childhood and i adore minifigures. Seeing things i love like Simpsons, Lord of the rings or Scooby Doo in this medium i love gives me a huge amount of joy every morning when i see my display while getting dressed. I do Mocs and custom minifigures but exclusively about licenced themes. If Lego would release a 400€-Gondor in Minifigure scale i'd get it. If there were good castle sets usefull for lotr i'd probably pick them up. If there are sweet orc-parts in generic fantasy sets, i'll bricklink them. If a third party company offers a good 3d-Printed accessory piece, i'll get it. On the other hand i dont want the retro yellow castle for free. Am i an adult fan of bricks? Am i an Non-fol? What matters to the company is the fact, that i am willing to spend the money for 7 pairs dark brown medium legs on Bricklink to upgrade my dwarfs and make them larger than Hobbits but smaller than humans. What matters to the company is that there are Comic Nerds paying 250€ because of a very cool display Batmobil and sn exclusive moulded headgear. If Lego would just reuse old moulds Afols with a huge collection would soon have little reason to get new sets, as well as children/their parents, when the pieces are available cheap on the second hand market. The hat/hair combination from Stranger things will be reused. The moulded Mickey and Donald heads are a usefull addition for Legos library and i am sure there will be a Juniors line with them when the big sets are retired because the demand of 300+€-sets is satisfied. Medium legs will be reused. The very few occasions Lego makes what i would call " real special service" with moulds like the keaton Batman headgear doesn't happen very often and it pays off well.
  10. Don't forget, that the centaur has to wear Star wars 501-Armour as a big middlefinger towards the people waiting for a battlepack
  11. Would be nice to get one. I'd probably buy one. Lego missed the point where i would have gotten an Army of them. I am happy with my Brickforge centaurs now. I love Robert's hairpiece design :D That would be a great piece for Fantasy Mocs.
  12. I am starting to believe the guys at Lego making such decisions are running in circles all night long just thinking about how to make people stop collecting...
  13. A good friend of mine is hardcore into collecting Pokémon. She knows most of the merchandise lines and so on. As far as i know from her Nintendo is and was allways extremely protective about its properties especially action figures and figurines. The company has it's production organized and is successfull. They don't need a partner like Lego. Small packages with a few Lego sized figures cost as much as a Lego set with them probably would/should. I highly doubt we will see sets. Even if that would not be the case it doesn't seem likely that Lego would produce so many new moulds. Link needs a new headgear, Shield ans sword or he will look awefull. Every Pokemon needs a special mould. Mario and Luigi could use the same hat. Peach needs new hair. Browser or Donkey kong should be big figs. Minifigs of them would need headmoulds...
  14. I'd prefer Captain Americas Mask in black with teeth printed on the head. Would be a little Goofy Version like Riddler from tlbm. If Lego wont release him in about a year i am going to make a custom one this way.
  15. Could not agree more. Especially not knowing if there will be a minifig with unprinted dark brown medium legs or if it stays exclusive to one character in the stranger things set annoys me... And the fact that face and torso have no market value doesn´t help either. There is noone selling the legs separately out there because of that. I need at least 8 of them for my Middle Earth Dwarfs (Gosh, i hope the custom printing will work out like i planned...). It makes quite a difference when i have to buy 8 times the whole figure for about 15€ each after the set retired or to be able to buy a bunch of them for a few bucks when they are included in a CMF... That´s something i am afraid of, too. In my opinion lego proved several times that they tend to act that way... like with ridiculous amounts of stickers in the 350€-Ghostbusters HQ 100% targeted towards adults, while claiming that stickers are only used just because children them so much... On the other hand: If they are too greedy to gives us printed legs it means better chances to get unprinted medium legs in different colours
  16. I´d definitly buy some of the figures on bricklink. Would be a great opportunity to get the Ducks with dual mouldet medium sized legs like they should have been in the beginnig.
  17. To be honest i don´t get why AFOLs are still buying DC Sets. Except for catwoman, Firefly and Shazam there have been better variants of every character before and the few cool new things (like these figures or the wheels of the new Batmobil) can be purchased on bricklink for a few bucks. I hope for Mad hatter, Hush and Azrael to appear in minifigure form. Then i´ll have one great version of the batmobil and every Gotham character i really like.
  18. https://store.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb3162c01 Maybe this Torso? I'd say the Hunter-Spiderman-Villain with a different head and Woodys Headgear would be quite fitting, but in yellow it becomes really difficult. In my opinion the most important thing is the knife. Brick Warriors has exactly such a knife.
  19. Hello, I found this Internetsite called shapeways. They make 3d-printed objekts by the designs people upload. They have very nice custom parts but i am not sure that Filament would work best. I'd like to get headgear and weapons from them. I guess everything will work for the headgear but if the material is to soft/hard, it could become a problem with putting it in a minifigs hand... i'd be really gratefull, if anybody has experience with that site and can give me an advice. With kind regards, Gorilla
  20. @Duncan Young @RedHoodPug That's a pitty :/ Thank you! :) then i'll probably do a custom print someday... would just have saved me some time and money^^'
  21. Awesome :D
  22. Thank you very much! :)
  23. I don't want to be annoying, but could someone who owns the figures tell me if the blue on the lantern villain with purple face is the same used for the nightwing from the dvd-polybag a few years ago? I'd like to upgrade my knightwing with arm prints :)
  24. The only problem i see with Crabbe Goyle and Cat-Hermoine is their age. The figures from Chamber of secrets had short legs in the sets until now unlike the 4 medium sized leg-robe combos we got in the first wave. Oh, i don´t mean that they shouldn´t do that mould. Like i said: We need everything we can get for Castle/Fantasy. But it can still annoy me to get reminded of the potential Lego wastet with the Middle Earth sets (For example: a set with Witchking, Fellbeast and Eowyn would sell well to Middle Earth nerds as well as to Children who just see a cool generic fantasy set. Just like an Iron Hill Dwarfes Battlepack... I think it wasn´t a failure of the licence that the Laketown sets - especially the way they were done- the uruk forge or the Mirkwood army didn´t sell well. Their could have been a mould for orcrist if they didn´t make the hat hair combo for the master of laketown. Half of the time he isn´t wearing a hat. It could also have been Kilis Haipiece without the hole for a quiver, which looks stupid on thorin, Fili, the pirate and Quinlan Vos. it would have been easy to improve the theme just by doing different new moulds.).
  25. I think polyjuce Crabbe and Goyle are quite likely. The two are missing and could offer different Torso Prints for their houses robes like the 4 versions of the first series. Griffendor's sword would be a punch in the face of Middle Eart Fans, who never got Glamdring, Narsil or Orcrist... I get why Lego would not do a Heugrimm, but the first 3 were really neccessary. On the other hand i'd i'd be glad to get anything for the Castle theme...
