  1. I found a 7052: UFO Abduction in a beat-up box on sale for £12 and 4866: Knight Bus (the 2011 version) for £14 - over half price I am planning on combining my 2004 and 2011 Knight Buses to make one movie accurate bus, so look out for it on the liscensed forums!
  2. Thanks, I just couldn't work out a smooth mechanism for the lift but I think it turned out alright in end. Thank you Blue Brick! Thanks! I agree that that set had two of the nicest four-wide cars Lego made, they have so many useful pieces even my tan car is not intact - it has four holes where 1x1 plates should go.
  3. When the first photos of the new Lego City Car park came out, they gave me inspiration to build a bigger, better and more detailed car park, and it is up to you to say if I succeded. My version has 24 parking spaces, a car wash, gas pumps, a booth to pay for the gas (something Lego's Car Park is lacking) and a motorized car lift. Enjoy! Here you can see the size, a bit of the car lift and that my photo studio is way too small. The entrance has a ramp to get the the car lift and some lights to indicate if its safe or not to drive onto it. I wasn't planning on having the lights but since I had some space on the Power Functions battery box I thought why not? If you decide you want to park you car on the ground floor you have easier access to the two ticket machines and the exit. There are also CCTV cameras on every floor which are monitered by Lego City Central Security (link is a teaser for an upcoming MOC) Here are gas pumps, with the booth to pay for the gas behind them, and the exit at the right(also something the official car park lacks). In this view you can see the roof of the mini gas station and the car wash I managed to squeeze in on the first floor to the right. EDIT: Click here to see the video! And finally a short video demonstrating the motorized car lift, an improvement of "hand of God" operated one in the Lego set! I hope you liked my Lego City car park and you can view all of the photos plus a couple more in my flickr set here! and comments or suggestions for improvement are more than welcome!
  4. Thank you all for your great comments! Sorry for the late reply. I've updated the first post with a picture of Mystery Gang!
  5. Its looking good and I can't wait to see the finished product! The only thing I would change is 1x1 gap in the door but other than that, great work
  6. Nice trailer - I allways love it when models have a special feature or function! Are you planning on building the trailer in other colours? A Star Bucks green trailer would look even better!
  7. Thanks for all the great comments everyone! Just because you can only see two seats that are only wide enough to seat one minifigure, doesn't mean there isn't space in the back of the Land Rover to seat another minifig
  8. New Lego City Forest Fire minifigure pack: More info at Brickset.
  9. Great recreation of the castle Etzel and the bell is really nice too! Only the sides look a bit bare - mabye use a SNOT technique for the windows?
  10. Today I thought i'd share my Land Rover model. It is based on a Land Rver Series 1 and can seat two minifigures. I got the idea for making a classic Land Rover after finding the train window piece which was perfect for the front windscreen. It is a very simple design but I felt the end result does it's job well. In these alternative views you can see a few more details and the dashboard I included to make the model a bit more interesting. I hope you liked my simple Land Rover and comments or suggestions for improvement are more than weclome!
  11. I'm not sure if this should go in Action Themes or Special themes but since the Scooby Doo gang are "Monster Fighters" I think i've posted this topic in the right forum. Hello and today I will be showing my Mystery Machine, the converted camper van that Scooby Doo and the gang use as their transport and mobile HQ. The Mystery Machine has alot of patterns and a cartoony shape that I think I managed to reacreate in bricks quite well. It took a couple of nights to build and can hold two minifigures. Enjoy! And some more shots showing the side detailing and lettering and the overall size and shape of the model: I hope you liked my Mystery Machine and comments or suggestions for improvement are welcome! And a scence with the camper as a bonus...
  12. Excellent modular - I like all of tiny but realistic details you've included, and the lamp/shop sigh technique is ingenius! Mabye you could make the roof in dark green so it would live up to its name a bit more?
  13. Brickset.com should tell you a good bit of information about the set.
  14. Great work on the 18-wheeler (I love the fact it even has cargo space!) and nice store but those mudguard pieces make the store look a bit too futuristic for my taste.
  15. It depends on the type of stickers, for example stickers on a white background (such as this sheet) tend to be of a lower quality and crack/fall off a Lego piece quicker than stickers on a transparent background (such as this sheet). So far, only a few of my white-backgound stickers have cracked and/or fallen off a couple of eight year old sets, so i'd say normal stickers last about 10 years on a piece, but transparent backed ones might last more.
  16. I've just noticed a weird detail in the car park; the only security camera in the set is on top of the security office? Why doesn't the security officer just look out of the window insted of having a high-tech camera in the same place?
  17. Well, a sticker sheet is a piece so probably the sticker sheet in 4000001 Moulding Machines is the rarest piece. They made 10,000 gold C-3POs which were randomly inserted into set but only 68 of Moulding Machines sets for the Inside Tour, which costs a couple of thousand pounds. So the sticker sheet is way more rare and (if for sale) would probably cost more.
  18. I see you got some inspiration from the new Monster Fighters train? Interesting model legolego, lots of good parts usages!
  19. Wow, it really is fantastic! I love the use of the SNOT tiles on the ground floor, and I like the clock tower to Once again, excellent job!
  20. Brilliant broadwalk RoxYourBlox! The amount of details you've included really shows. Are you planning on doing more colour themed streets? That would be awesome!
  21. Thanks for all of the great comments everyone! I suppose you are right, its just I wanted to get the white stripe down the front of camper and just used the first technique that came to my mind. Thinking about it, I could use the same stripe technique as the one on my Bugatti Veyron.
  22. Hello and today I thought i'd share my minifigure scale Volkswagen Splitscreen Camper Van, basicly a sized-down version of 10220 Volkswagen Camper Van. It comes complete with an interior and can seat four minifigs. Here are some alternative views: Here you can (just about) see the compact interior with tiled floor, a sink, a hob and a little table. I found the interior was one of the most fun parts of the camper van to build, because of the size and space limits. You can also get and idea of the length and width of the Camper, and the numerous little details on it. I hoped you liked my minifig scale VW Camper, and as with all of my models, you can view the photos in higher resolution in my flickr set. Look out for more minifig scale cars from me as they will be on Eurobricks very soon, and all comments and suggestions for improvement are more than welcome!
  23. Thank you for your opinions MetroiD, L@go and Legocrazy81. I think i'll go with the Pet Shop though, as it has more of a variety of pieces, and it gives me a bit more time to save up some spare money to buy it!
  24. Another picture of the car park (courtsy of Brickset.com): I'm not that excited about the car park. My opinion is its just nothing special, and not to mention the saftey flaw; what if the minifigures forget to put the handbrake on while their cars are on the top floor... with no saftey barriers that gap for the lift goes a long way down
  25. Cute little spider and, as has been already pointed out, the use of picks is a neat idea! But aren't spiders supposed to have eight legs?
