Very nice arcade chuckie, and good use of parts for the arcade machine! Are you going to enter it into the Modular Madness contest here on Eurobricks, it seems to be to be the right size?
-
Brilliantly shaped hull, the weathering takes it to the next level! It's quite a big trawler, have you thought about the cost? And are the sails going to be brick built or custom?

Lego CUUSOO Firefly Serenity Playset Reaches 10k!
TheKingOfBuilding replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I think we should just have one topic titled "Lego Cuusoo Licensed Sets To Reach 10K", at this rate there should be quite a few projects posted there a week... -
Very nice house, I like this style of architecture. I am eagerly waiting to see the top floor of the house! I agree. Unless you're planning to use different shades of red (e.g dark, sand and normal red) 1x2 plates don't really have that much effect in real life, LDD outlines the plates to make them stand out while the edges are not that noticeable in person so you'd be much better off using normal bricks.

Great review Pandora! This is a really nice set, along with the rest of the Paradisia range. That baseplate is superb along with all of the other parts - if only Lego included such pieces in sets nowdays, exclusive printing, rare colours...
-
Very nice space style carriage, you've done a good job turning a typical Blacktron design into a train carriage. I think you should make a Blacktron style engine to pull it!
-
Once again, you've done a excellent job! I the shape and the spare tyre is a nice touch! One thing I would suggest though is to add a grille above the side exhausts:

I have a question; is there a hight limit? For example the town hall is the tallest official modular so can my entry be taller than the town hall or do I have to make it the same/shorter hight as the TH?

Very nice choice for a vehicle to build, especially in those colours, they really make it stand out just like the real thing One thing I would change though is the overhang on top of the windscreen, if you use jumper plates to reduce it to a half-stud offset it would look much more realistic.

Its looking really good, I can't wait to see the interior! Are you going to build a couple of sailing boats to go in the harbour? I think they would capture the feel Nyhavn and just make the water a little less "empty".

LEGO Team GB Minifigures Discussion
TheKingOfBuilding replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I sure hope these are real, they look fantastic! I guess Lego where still "testing" the CM theme around that time to see if was going to be a success. Obviously now they know the theme is very popular, they couldn't resist the chance to get a liscence to make Team GB minifigs. -
They are good if you don't have many parts, but raised baseplates really take away the creativity of building Lego, so this one with no actual studs is probably the least useful part for town building. I actually think Technic parts are really useful for making motorized elevators and car lifts for buildings, plus some Technic parts can create really nice stone effects, such as in this brilliant moc by tiberium_blue.

MOC: Micro Dino Defense HQ
TheKingOfBuilding replied to Combee's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Excellent job, its instantly reconisible! You've done a very good job on the dinosaurs and vehicles as well, the only thing I would suggest is to make the supply crate in the bottom right of the photos a bit smaller? -
Thank you lightningtiger and gotoAndLego! Any ideas for another movie car that I could build? I was thinking about making the General Lee or the A-team van.

MOC: The Big Guy - Large Minifig Sculpture
TheKingOfBuilding replied to TimBurdon's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You've built an impressive mosaic and the shovel and bollards are a nice touch! Is there any particular reason you chose to do the mosaic of a constuction worker minifigure? -
After a little break from building cars, I'm back with the Ecto 1, the Ghostbuster's converted 1959 Cadillac Futura Hearse/Ambulance. There are alot of good Lego Ecto 1's on the web but I felt that they were all missing something - the space to actually fit the Ghostbusters. My one can fit the three original Ghostbusters (in a "T" shape - two minifigures at the front and one at the back), has opening doors, a space to fit two proton packs and is my first 7-wide car! And some more shots showing the features and functions. The interior has dashboard, a Ghost-monitor I added for fun and space in the back for proton packs. I hope you liked my Ecto 1 and comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome as usual!

I had the idea of making a modular bank for a while, and had been building certain sections seperately (such as the windows and columns) until I decided to just go and make the whole bank. It turned out to be 16x48, my biggest modular yet, and not as modern as I was aiming for but it still turned out alright. So lets see some pictures! Here you can see most of exterior details and how solid the bank looks (no chance of any robberys then !) And if you go through those big double doors... ...you can see inside Lego City Grand Bank! I just didn't have enough grey bricks to finish the walls all the way round though but I guess you could say the back is open for "playability". I managed to take a shot of the counter just before it got busy so its easier to see the details. Lets meet up with the staff to see whats happening behind the counter. A robbery taking place, someone withdrawing their money - just a normal day of good business. Whats up these stairs? Turns out, its a bunch of consultants at their cubicles. I'm not that sure about their safety though, mabye I should speak to the manager about adding some railings? Just as well that the manager's office is just down the corridor. He doesn't seem too happy to see us though. The manager said he'd think about the railings and that he'd let us have a look in the staff-only section. Here you can see the corridor to the security office and the gold vault below, which I sadly do not have pernmission to enter. I managed to snap a shot inside the security office as well. Why so many moniters? This guy is also in charge of the security cameras in Lego City Car Park. I hope you liked my modular bank and as always any comments and suggestions for improvement are more than welcome!

Wow, the cracks and other damage details make this creation really realistic! You've captured the feeling of the scene brilliantly, and the flesh minifigs and use of textured bricks make it look so much more life like. Once again, you've done a excellent job!
-
Woah, I was not expecting it to be a transformer! Brilliant creation, and considering the function, I think you've got a perfect amount of detailing - it looks like you've just managed to squeeze it all in so I don't even know if theres any more room to fit more details! Also I was wondering, is this crane a official transformer (out of the movies/cartoons)?

Who needs roofs on a car wash? It doesn't matter if it rains - I thought the hole point of a car wash was to get your car wet!

Lego Road Plates in Sets
TheKingOfBuilding replied to The Blue Brick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think Lego only include road plates when they absolutely have to now, not just to save costs but to have more funds going to design the actual buildings/vehicles in the set. A good example is last year's Space Centre. Without the road plate, the launch pad would be flimsy if on a normal baseplate since the road plate covers a much larger area. Road plates for sets like 3661 Bank & Money transfer however are not critical, as the bank would still be stable on a normal baseplate like the one used in the set. -
Hayabusa, the second LEGO® CUUSOO release

Mabye the founder/CEO of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (the guys who made the Hayabusa)? -
MOC: 1974 Dodge Monaco Sedan (Police Package)
TheKingOfBuilding replied to ER0L's topic in LEGO Town
So they're custom. I thought they were some very worn stars from this sticker sheet (I own a copy of the set the sticker sheet came in and the stars really look like your custom ones when they're worn ) -
MOC: 1974 Dodge Monaco Sedan (Police Package)
TheKingOfBuilding replied to ER0L's topic in LEGO Town
Excellent recreation of the dodge, the collectable minifigure stand on the hood is used perfectly I think this is your best 7-wide car yet! Are the stars on the sides custom or official stickers?
