  1. I still feel like the entire concept of an Elf Clubhouse is out of left field, but I can't help but enjoy the overall design. I feel like the inclusion of the big computer as one of the side builds is a bit odd...
  2. FYI - Brick Show is reporting Harry Potter Gifts With Purchase for September: LEGO Harry Potter and Hedwig: Owl Delivery (30420) - for purchases of LEGO Harry Potter sets worth $40 or more. LEGO BrickHeadz Hagrid and Buckbeak (40412) - for purchases of LEGO Harry Potter sets worth $100 or more. https://brickshow.com/2020/08/expect-a-couple-of-lego-harry-potter-gwp-sets-in-september
  3. Oddly enough, it's been reported that Downtown Diner is due to retire first. https://www.thebrickfan.com/rumored-lego-direct-to-consumer-sets-retiring-in-2020/
  4. I have to agree that the whole concept of an "Elf Clubhouse" is a bit strange and not an established part of winter holiday lore (near as I'm aware). But I'll try to reserve judgment until I see what exactly it is.
  5. Thanks for the kind words and sharing your thoughts! I've found that neoclassical pediments are always tough at this scale. For this build, I first tried out the same technique used in the Trafalgar Square set, which I think does a better job at closing the gap at the top. But very confusingly, when I built it in Bricklink Studio, the unsightly gap was still prominent. After a lot of experimentation, a simple hinge is the best solution I could come up with for now.
  6. I designed the US Supreme Court in the style of the Architecture Landmark series! Since the building is actually quite long in its depth, I took inspiration from the overall approach of the official Trafalgar Square set. The rear side of the building also features a super micro version of the famous courtroom! Let me know what you think!
  7. I know a lot of people were disappointed that the Paris skyline did not include Notre Dame - so I had some fun modifying the official set to include it (along with the Panthéon). The Bricklink Studio file is available for free download here: https://rebrickable.com/users/benbuildslego/mocs/
  8. Thanks for the kind words! So glad you like them!
  9. Welcome to "The Happiest Place on Earth!" I designed a skyline for each of the four main Walt Disney World parks - with each park's primary icon in the center of each. The length of each skyline is the same (and identical length to the official London and Paris skyline sets). Any one who may be interested in instructions can find them here and on Rebrickable.com! MAGIC KINGDOM: EPCOT: HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS: ANIMAL KINGDOM: Let me know what you think!
  10. Brilliant - I love seeing them side by side!
  11. Thanks for all the kind feedback! It was a definitely a fun and challenging building (with constant comparing to reference material). In the near future - I'll experiment with changing the foliage to represent winter and spring!
  12. I designed Neuschwanstein Castle in the style of the LEGO Architecture series, and it contains about 1,276 pieces. This world famous castle is located in southern Bavaria and was built by Ludwig II (aka "The Mad King"). This Romanesque castle served as key inspiration for Walt Disney's own Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella Castles. Let me know what you think! I don't have instructions for this build just yet, but my other instructions can be found here and on Rebrickable.com.
  13. Thanks for the kind words! :D
  14. "LEGO, uh, finds a way." This MOC is built in the style of the LEGO Architecture Skyline series and features some of the iconic locations from the classic film, including: Helicopter Landing Pad Jurassic Park Visitor Center Jurassic Park Gate "That's one big pile of s#*t" Raptor Pen Tyrannosaurus Rex Pen Let me know what you think! Anyone interested can also find me on Instagram @BenBuildsLego (Instructions can be found here and on Rebrickable.com).
  15. I had to double-check to make sure it wasn't still April 1st! At last!
  16. I definitely applaud them for thinking outside the box, but since most of us here are TFOLs/AFOLs, this doesn't seem to be up our alley. I'm mostly wondering now if this is how all the sets will be, or if we'll get some traditional sets.
  17. Last year I designed a Hogwarts MOC done in the Architecture Skyline-series: This micro design features the Hogwarts Express, the Forbidden Forest (with Aragog), Hagrid's Hut, a section of Hogwarts Castle, the Whomping Willow, and the Quidditch Field.
  18. Thanks! Super appreciated!
  19. I'll have to see what the final result looks like and whether it can fit into the space available - it seems like it could work! Good eye! - And yes - I believe I switched it out since the unicorn horn in pearl gold is cheaper / more available than the pearl gold screwdriver.
  20. I designed it mainly as a set that can serve as a fun display piece for adult Indy fans - similar to the Architecture Skyline series. I'm also kicking myself since I missed out on the original sets since I was in my dark ages at the time lol. Since the 40th anniversary of Indy is next year, I wanted to focus on the classic 80s trilogy. Thanks so much! Clearly there is still a demand for more Indiana Jones sets! If nothing else, I hope LEGO notices that!
  21. Thanks for the kind words! I'm unfamiliar with Dune, but I may need to check it out to see if it could be a good fit for a skyline.
  22. I'm super pleased with everything about this set except for the lack of beskar armor. The Baby Yoda figure alone makes it a must-have.
  23. No worries whatsoever - I appreciate hearing the feedback!
