New LEGO Speed Champions 2021 Rumors, Speculation
MTBingNinja replied to Bartlomiej's topic in LEGO Town
That's HUGE, I know we were paranoid about Lego canceling the SC series but it seemed that COVID delayed the release for 2021. Money talks, if the SC sets keep selling, Lego will keep developing them. I thought I saw an interview with a Lego representative that they'll be moving away from Speed Champion structures as people haven't been "playing with them too much" and tend to just interact with the cars. That 75889 set was the best!!!- 755 replies

Luv the dragster idea. Maybe down the line they’ll come out with an old school hot rod, custom car or a celebrity car (i.e. Munsters vehicle).- 755 replies

New LEGO Speed Champions 2021 Rumors, Speculation

Give me another big bowl of crow. I’ll make crow a steady part of my diet as long as they keep delivering a healthy lineup of 8-studs. I don’t miss the 6-studs one bit.- 755 replies

I’ll be buying all the new sets, believe me 🤓. I mean, I’d love to see the sales numbers between the 8-stud compared to the 6-studs. In such, are the 8-stud sales blowing away the 6-stud sales.- 755 replies

Me too. Unless it’s a full blown race car with livery stickers, I lean towards keeping my SC cars clean looking without all the livery stickers.- 755 replies

I just dip them in a bucket of water, light scrub with a clean bristle brush and then rinse off to get the dust off. I think your polish cleaner is the culprit.- 755 replies

I modeled the V8 off of a Lego engine on Google, couldn't resist building a Hemi with Hilborn fuel injection:

Hello. Thanks for reaching out to me. I haven’t had any issues with the stickers degrading. I keep my models out of direct sunlight as well. Not sure what else the issue may be. Do you handle or play with them a lot?- 755 replies

Can't even seem to register a new account through Aliexpress. Anyone know if Aliexpress is a reputable website to make purchases from. The website link to register doesn't even look secure.- 755 replies

[MOC] Lego Speed Champions Garage, Spray Painting the Nissan GT-R
MTBingNinja replied to MTBingNinja's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks! Real spray paint, Testors enamel metallic purple. Laid down a tiny bit of primer beforehand. ...maybe I’ll “spill” some paint on the floor and have some footsteps traces from the guy stepping in the paint 🤣 -
[MOC] Lego Speed Champions Garage, Spray Painting the Nissan GT-R
MTBingNinja replied to MTBingNinja's topic in LEGO Town
I agree. Thought of adding a spray booth when I first setup the garage but ran out of room. Thought of spraying some of the tiles on the floor but thought the car was high enough where he wouldn’t have gotten some paint on the floor. Thought of spraying a tile too where the empty can of spray paint lies. -
Had a lot of fun spray painting the Nissan GT-R in my Speed Champions diorama garage. I know the purists are screaming right now but couldn't resist. Enjoyed the process right from the begging, from taping off the windows and other body parts right down to painting the paint cans. Primed the GT-R a bit before spraying down the Testors enamel metallic purple. I taped of the car more not to get too much overspray, wanted to make it look like he was applying paint from left to right and one panel at a time. Really pleased with the way it came out, in hindsight I wouldn't a thing but welcome everyone's feedback.

Upset that they're not releasing another Speed Champions 8-wide series (SPC) this winter but I cam across the 76052 Batmobile which will fill a void for a bit. The 76052 Batmobile will fit nicely in my MOC garage. The Batmobile car is great as it's not "gimmicky" as it comes across the authentic '66 George Barris custom car. I am not a fan of the "cartoony" 70906 Joker Lowrider. Love authentic looking cars, hence the Speed Champions series, the 8158 Lego Speed Racer & Snake Oiler are missing the mark a bit too. Any other 8-wides that you guys have come to like outside of the SCS?

Eating Crow with the new 8-wide Lego Speed Champions
MTBingNinja replied to MTBingNinja's topic in LEGO Town
That's a good point LegoDW. I have a full Lego MOC Mechanic Garage Diorama where the 8-wides fit easily into place. Even though I had to tweak it a bit, the 8-wides fit on the Ferrari FXX K & Development wind/dyno tunnel. -
Really impressed with the new Lego Speed Champions series. Initially, I wasn't a fan of the thought of a new 8-wide series but have come to love every set. Looking back, I think part of it was frustration that my old 6-wides would be "outdated". I have all the new 8-wide sets and like each one of them. The Ferrari F8 Tributo looks better in person than the caption on the box. I thought the Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing Gen2 car and Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY looked dumb but pulled the trigger and purchased them last week, absolutely happy that I did as I love the colors and a lot of the building techniques. I know that there was a lot of commotion and frustration with the transition from the 6-wide to 8-wide, but am a fan of the new camp now.
