It's a big misunderstanding that boxes will take up a lot of space. I think many Lego boxes, if not all, are designed to be so compact that there wouldn't be too much space left. Space is money, no one wants a box bigger than necessary, TLG wouldn't want, retailers wouldn't want, normal fans wouldn't want. You can use the original box to keep and sort a played set very well, unless you mix up one set with another but in that case, you would probably have to mix up many sets together in a big container or otherwise, there wouldn't be any real reduction in storage space. Only in this way you are going to save up the space but it will be a big headache when you want to build the sets again in the future.

Does anyone buy Lego but not open or sell it most of time? I have been buying hundreds of sets in recent years but 98% of them are not opened or sold. Normally when I have time, I take them out, look at the boxes, and put them back into the wardrobe where my Lego sets are kept. For the 2% that I will open and play, the box is usually damaged or in bad condition. For perfect or nice box, I really don't want to open them. Is it a psychological problem? But I enjoy this habit so much and doesn't feel any pain. Does anyone here do the same?

By the way, can I know why people would buy from HK or Singapore, yes I know that their prices are low but shipping cost is never zero, and usually accounts for a big fraction of the total cost even with the most economic one.

I still have not yet got many sets of 2022, and now 2023 is coming.

Can you take a few pictures of the details of the City fire command unit truck for me? i.e. 60282. This is a hard decision because the price isn't right here for me but I am getting interested in this truck.

Does any City fans here get the Fire Command Unit 60282? I can find deals now for $35 but it only has 380 pcs, which is really costly.

I mean, where can I check for the lowest price ever of a retired set in the global market BEFORE it's retired. Not necessarily the absolute lowest, but around the lowest point is fine. I mean, the lowest price of a set in the market after it's born, not necessarily the current price. Because I'd like to buy a retired set but I don't know it's lowest price before it's retired. If it is a lot more expensive now then I will just forget it and look for something otherwise. I do not want to let the investors to earn too much. Yes I cannot control their price, but I can control myself

Probably there was no city grocery store before but how do you know that there will be never again? I do not agree with your point about the school because the new school doesn't sell well here and there are often special deals exclusively for this set and the price is not unattractive.

Does the new creator noodle shop match other city buildings in proportion?

After all, do you think the new city grocery store will retire this soon? (i.e. in Dec 2022). This is a set that I must get but the price now is too bad.

I am shocked because I'll never, ever pay $80 for 404 pieces. Sometimes buying Lego is like gambling. As I said I could never believe that the wildlife rescue (i.e. 60302) would now drop to $50 now while I got it for $65 and thought it was the lowest price ever. By the way, I've got the new city police station for $40, which I thought it couldn't be this cheap before.

I will wait until it drops to $30. It's not impossible. I thought Lego 60302 had reached its lowest price and got it for $65 a few months ago. Did you know, here they are selling it now for $50 only! Crazy! I'm confident that the city grocery store will drop below $40USD, but you have to wait and keep an eye on it.

Would anyone explain to me what the price for Lego 60347 City Grocery Store is priced so high and there isn't any real drop in price in other sources e.g. ebay, individuals, where they will usually offer a real deal. The lowest price I can find for it is not lower than USD$50 for 404 pieces (i.e. price per piece=$0.125) but I could get the train station for $65 for about 900 pieces (i.e. price per piece=$0.07) and I can even get the freight train for $135 for about 1150 (i.e. $0.12) pieces but it includes a remote. Is there any very special or exclusive parts for 60347 which makes it this costly?

According to the data on brickset, RRP for 60198 was $229.99 while RRP for 60336 now, which should be a newer version, is only $199.99. They both have 6 exclusive mini-figures and the only difference is that 60198 has 73 more pieces (i.e. 1226-1153=73), so I don't think there is any huge difference. After 4 years, the suggested price for the similar set doesn't rise, but even drop. What do you think? Does Lego know from experience that the freight train doesn't sell well so they make it more valued for the money now?

LEGO 60337 or LEGO 60197 if you were me? Prices are close. The newer one is only a few bucks more expensive here, which can be ignored. The thing I don't like about the newer train is the shape of the head, but the small station is improved with trees and two more minifigures which are a great added value. I will have budget next month but without doubt I will get only one and save for something otherwise. It is really meaningless to get both.

How much did you guy get the new freight train for? I got it for approx. USD$130, good deal or not?

Well. But I am happy with the new City passenger train and the freight train, and also the train station. Especially the new freight train (i.e. 60336), it's really nicer and more beautiful than the older version (released in 2018?).

I'm disappointed with almost every City buildings released in recent years.

Even though City theme is always my favorite, I don't really have every city set, but for the city set I really like, I will get a lot of them, for example, I now have seven sets of Lego 60312 and about ten sets of Lego 60239, and three sets of the new city mobile crane. I have about twenty sets of Lego 60300 for the monkeys and trees.

I ignored city police sets because they were poorly designed, nothing about price. Even though they are so common, their price per piece is still a lot higher than Creator sets that I don't understand. For example, I've just got 31131 for $30 today, but the lowest price I can find for 60316 is $45.
