Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

So would you guys say the Miles mech has that exaggerated swagger of a black teen? For those who don't get it, watch Gamespot's review of SM: Miles Morales -

Then I do hope they'll actually include some proper variants, not whatever the new Snape and Sprout are supposed to be I'll always appreciate new prints but those 2, especially Sprout, are a waste of budget imo. Sprout is just a dumbed down version of the CMF fig and if they really wanted to stick with this costume for Snape they should've just reused the existing figure but with a new set of prints for his face, would've been much more usefull. -
There have been no delays caused directly by the virus, just some sets getting delayed because they're based on a now delayed movie. There was ofc that period where the US wasn't getting the new waves concurrently with the rest of the world because of the factories in Mexico closing down but afaik that issue has now largely been resolved and it didn't affect the releases on other markets. I highly doubt they'll delay the set. I'm also not really sure what you mean by ''lego will certainly have riots on their hands''. As far as LEGO is concerned we have no knowledge of this set, they neither have a moral nor legal obligation to inform of us of any delays or changes so if something does happen people are just gonna have to suck it up and go on with their day Anyway, I highly doubt any of these proposed scenarios will happen. Just expect it to release as planned.

I'd actually really like to see a bunch more FB sets. Though, admittedly, that's more because of the potential beasts than the characters -
Kind of a serious question: with the passing of Kirby Morrow would you guys prefer Cole to be organically removed from the story or replaced with a different actor? I know this is very different than a normal tv show as the LEGO products are a big part of the franchise as well and it's unlikely for LEGO to take out on of the ninja but I'm really curious what you guys think.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'll just chime in to say that I really don't know what it is and I wasn't hinting at anything. 'Apply the usual grain of salt' was meant to convey that while I'm sure the info is correct it shouldn't be treated as fact untill LEGO themselves confirms it. -
Pretty sure the island is the only structure for S14 and that the biggest set are those catamarans

I feel like this advice applies to LEGO as a company overall, not just Ninjago or Legacy. Especially in the last few years they've really been focusing on vehicles, most of them repeats of past products with next to no innovation (which is pretty sad for a company centered around creativity ). I've personally always preferred location/scenery sets over vehicles so it's disappointing to see LEGO go down this route.

I vaguely remember a source saying it was based on Venom 2. And anyway, if LEGO is making Marvel busts/helmets it makes absolutely no sense to do Carnage this early if there's no movie involved. -

It's possible that we'll get 1 or 2 sets that aren't based on Dominion but it's more likely that all sets have been delayed to 2022. -
Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

In hindsight I'm actually kinda disappointed in the book choices they made for the book sets. They're nice and all but they're not really future-friendly if you get what I mean. Would've made more sense to pair the common rooms/dormitories with House books and classes with a book based on the subject in question (so Potions with Advanced Potion Making for example). It's not the end of the world and it doesn't take away from the sets themselves, they're still really good, but it's definetely a missed opportunity Nope, the book sets will release on January 1st while the list of sets I shared are part of the summer wave. -

LEGO exec: "What did you say? You want a Deadpool bust? Sure, we'll do that. Gotta use that 18+ line of course!'' -
I get your disappointment but I feel like you're kinda missing the point of Legacy here. This subtheme exists to give new fans or older fans who weren't into the theme from the beginning another chance at being able to buy sets based on the earlier seasons. These sets are new interpretations of the original stuff using newer pieces and techniques as they come along and different minifigure designs, they're not supposed to be ''the original set but better''.

DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm no economics expert but I'll do my best to explain some of this as well as I can. Inflation is a very important thing to take in mind when it comes to comparing prices from sets released in different years. To follow your own example, a set that cost $60 in 2011 would cost roughly $70 in 2020 due to inflation alone. For the set in question (the 4+ Avengers tower) there are a couple more factors to take in mind: - It's a 4+/Juniors set and is therefore designed to be easy to assemble my small children. Because of this 4+/Juniors sets generally use a lot of large pieces and receives printed parts instead of stickers. Of course a big panel or window piece costs a lot more to produce than a simple 1x1 plate, which drives up the price of the set. Then there's also the printed parts which are more expensive to produce than the same exact parts but with stickers. All of this is done to make the build experience for young builders easier but it does raise the price a fair amount. - Big pieces cost more than small pieces and the same goes for minifigures. This set contains a bigfig (Hulk), which also raises the price of the set. - Last but certainly not least there's also the licensing fee to take in mind. Something like Ninjago sets are generally less expensive because it's an in-house theme and LEGO owns the rights to it. When LEGO makes licensed sets (like Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter etc) they have to pay the license-owner a fee, which also gets calculated into the price. All of this still doesn't really justify the $60 pricetag on that set but most of this generally applies to all sets. Every set is different and there are a lot of factors that will eventually decide the price of a set, sometimes that price ends up being pretty good and other times it'll end up being way more than most customers are willing to pay. English isn't my primary language so some of my sentences might end up being quite messy when I've written a longer explanation but I hope this makes sense to you. -

These are part of the winter wave for LEGO Art. They're based on Harry Potter but don't have anything to do with the HP theme itself.
