  1. For a $1000 slice of Death Star with stickers, nope. But that is me. For $1500 with no stickers and the back half a sphere. Yes! Please take my money..half of the time I could display it as a diorama and the other time as a model.
  2. Just finished building the Natural History Museum today and overall I like it. Don’t mind the color scheme and think the height is appropriate for size of town the Modulars seem to reside in. As to PK82’s post I also encountered the white plates on the base of the second level to be off. Running one of my finger nails up both the sides it always caught on those white plates. Now for some speculation, would sure love to see a Hospital, Train Depot and a School on a 32x48 studprint. And of course still think we have lots of ideas left for future Modulars; Hardware Store, Butcher, Post Office, Apartments, Library, etc. Lastly, here’s to calling the next Modular a corner Newspaper Office!
  3. So 2025 will be a Tabloid Office/Printing Press so we can officially kick off the rumors!
  4. I always thought the idea of a yearly half size “modulaette” would be cool. Think about a park, plaza, playground or even a cemetery ( cool for those who added the Haunted Mansion ) on a 32x32 baseplate. Or even a small business (Farmer Market, Butcher, Hardware Store) 1 to 2 floors on a 16x32 baseplate. You could even do an alleyway with some rubbish bins, cardboard boxes and a stray cat or two…that fire engine needs someway to the back entrance of the Fire Brigade. Try to keep the cost to $75-$125usd and I think you have a winner. Kinda like battle packs in Star Wars but for the Modular line.
  5. Modular Wishlist: School Hospital Hardware Store Library Arcade Toy Store Park & Playground
  6. Just finished building the Jazz Club yesterday and for me it works right out of the box. Pet Shop is the first modular I added to or modified. I bought a second copy and mirror built the Apartment section. Since then: TH - as is. PC - added a brick built sign to side of building. Very common in Hollywood to have signs painted onto sides of buildings back in the day. PR - removed the outdoor eating area and added the Laundry section from BB to it ( there is a famous restaurant in Northern California called the "French Laundry". DO - expanded the Barbershop section. BB - mirror built the other side (removed the Laundromat). AS - shrunk to 32 studs width. DD - as is. CG - as is. BS - only built and displayed the Bookshop section. PP - centered and expanded the Police Station and removed the Donut shop and News stand. BH - haven't yet but want to remove the Art Gallery and use the space to create the Public plaza that was removed from AS. And that is the beauty of the Modular line - you can do or not do anything you want with them!
  7. This years Modular will be 3 levels and made out of bricks! Kidding aside it wouldn’t be autumn without all the speculation. So it will be a Mill, a Rumor Mill!
  8. Multiple tries but finally succeeded in ordering Police Modular. Real pain was crashing on entering the VIP discount codes. Will feel better when confirmation email arrives. Updated: Email confirmation arrived, this IS a good new years :-)
  9. Well now Bainter-ban we need a split modular, one side the Post Office and the other a County Election Board Office.
  10. Even though Cafe Corner was not a proper hotel would prefer some other type of building. Still holding hope for either a school, police station or library.
  11. I would say each movie in each of the three trilogies has an iconic scene, vehicle, place, moment, etc. I think one could argue that Tatooine IS the iconic planet of the whole franchise when one considers how much happens there. In the first ever movie it plays a huge role. So of all the events and places that have happen on Tatooine one of them takes place in Mos Eisley. The Cantina is where we first meet characters that play important parts in past and future trilogies ( Han and Chewbacca), see a lightsaber in action (Obi Wan dis arming someone as oppose to Luke swinging it around) and the most debated scene, did Han shoot first! As someone else posted earlier it sets the tone of the larger SW Universe. It is worthy of MBS status and a great set as well. Regardless of which movie one sees first and what order viewed in, the ANH will always be the first movie.
  12. Recently bought and completed this beast! Love all the Mods done and have used a few myself. Really liked the Engine Mods by ClassicLook ( https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=110014 ). I added LED light strips as well and made one change. Used two LED Strips Parallel to each other instead of just one. Heres a pic of one strip in use: Now with two strips: Connector used to join two led strips together: Strips are not aligned on LEDS but can be - like the jumble looks as it fits the motif of the Falcon! Would like to thank all who posted their Mods as it provides lots on inspiration to fellow builders! The LED Strip, Connectors and Battery Pack all bought on Amazon.
  13. I have posted on this topic before in regards to a Police Station. I collect Modulars and not the City Theme. I would like a Modular Police Station. In 2009 10197 Fire Brigade was released. In City 7208 Fire Station was also released. So Lego has released in both themes before. It could do it again.
  14. Still have a wide selection of Civic Bldgs left to choose from; School, Library, Post Office, Hospital, Police Station, etc. Any one of those would make a great Modular.
  15. Finished my mod to the Corner Garage with some input from Koalayummies. The awning know conforms to the baseplate by shorting its length by two studs. I also moved the awning down in height to match profile of the ground floor. Other small changes were to remove street lamp, use of classic smile face minifigure heads and all my modular utilize the tree from Fire Brigade. Photos:
  16. The build is complete! I like it without the yellow sign on the awning. Tiles on order to finish this section where awning attaches to main building. Need to move this lampost. (another tile on order) This modular has grown on me since I first saw it. The build and small mod done to it have solidify its position on my modular block.
  17. It barely stays on the baseplate. The base of the gas pump island is now 1 stud away from the edge. I usually display my Modulars up high (top of bookcases) so the centering on the building was more important to me than on the base plate. Note: by moving the awning to center the driveway is now the same width on each side, 10 studs. On the official build its 12 studs and 8 studs.
  18. Liked this Modular since it was announced. Day 1 purchase and currently building it. However one thing that has bothered me from the get go is the fact that the awning above the gas pump is not centered with the upper floors. My attempt at a correction:
  19. I can’t recall the last time I removed the floors to access the inside of my modulars once there built and displayed. I much rather the piece count go to exterior detail and not play features. I also echo the sentiment of having the ground floor detailed as we can usually see into more than the top floors. Lastly in regards to the vechiles, Fire Brigade set the gold standard and more importantly the Fire Engine was part of the bdlg! Palace Cinema and Downtown Diner vechiles are in my opinion supbar and worse can’t be displayed inside their Modulars but rather only along side it! My continuing hope for a Police Station Modular is because they can include a nice period style paddy wagon that can access the station via a garage like Fire Brigade, hint hint Lego Designers!!!!
  20. A School or Library would be nice additions. Like the idea of a Mechanics Garage maybe combine with a Service Station, make this a corner building and oh boy would it be swell. Still need a Hospital and Police Station. Liked the extra length of AS so maybe lets go taller. Like a five story early 19th century office tower found in Chicago or New York. Lots of way the next Modular can go and like different people designing them!
  21. Does anyone know if Target (on-line) in the US will have this available on Jan 1st as well?
  22. Maybe just maybe the DD can be the start of a new city block with a more modern theme. By that I mean the previous 12 modulars form a perfect city block ( square ) if you modified MS into a 16 studs wide building: Lego Conductor Onto the DD itself, Im not sure about it. If the top floors above the Diner were a full 32 studs wide the "Diner" sign might not look so big and off centered. Don't mind the car but miss the basic "smile face" heads on the minifigs!
  23. Yes you are right, Hopefully we should hear something solid soon! Late September for both Brick Bank & Assembly Square rumors..............
  24. Wesley D & Drunknok thank you! As for the water I did keep it: IMG_E2220 by Lego Conductor IMG_2221 by Lego Conductor Still have some stickers to apply and additional modifications once a PAB order arrives. Plan on modest changes to second level the most drastic being the removal of the tree. Might try to rework into a Cherry Blossom type tree for the street level. Top level will see the removal of the Tower and basically be just the outdoor Sushi Bar. My goal is converting into a Chinatown type area of my Modular City. Plan on having it across from the Palace Cinema which of course is influenced by the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
  25. While waiting for information on the next Modular have been working on modifying Ninjago City into one. My progress so far: IMG_2201 by Lego Conductor. Tackling the second level next!
