If that's going to be the third line then that's pretty cool. It is in space, which I had guessed, though I was hoping for pirates not more skeletons. I wonder what this maelstrom is like. You know, I've been thinking, Ninjago could be the next Dragon Ball Z - it could go on and on forever, as long as they can think of new ways to power up the characters and give them fiercer and tougher opponents to fight. I'm not a fan of Dragon Ball Z, but Ninjago sometimes reminds me of it.

Thanks so much! If those piece counts are accurate and Brickipedia is accurate on the minifigures to be included, those are actually very good prices, especially compared to the new Super Heroes sets. I'm assuming this is because Lord of the Rings will pull on a lot of pieces already made available through Castle so there won't be a lot of new pieces to make, unlike Super Heroes which has a lot of new pieces.

One, I love Ninjago, for the most part. Yes there are things that bother me like the vehicles are not made very well and there certainly are too many of them. But I love the story and the characters. My appreciation of them is greatly enhanced by watching the TV show on Youtube. Two, I really enjoyed the buildings from the first year and I am a little saddened by there not being any buildings in at least this first wave of the second year. As much as I don't like there being a lot of vehicles, at least this first wave has cooler vehicles. And I happen to really like the snake people. Maybe it's because I like Nagas from Mythology. Third, I would so love a Pirate vs Ninja theme for the third year. And it could work if they were futuristic pirates. I've watched a lot of anime with space pirates that have that classic pirate personality but with space ships. So I bet LEGO could pull off more flying ships or maybe move the whole thing to space. The sky's the limit on what can be done. Fourth, I like the wackiness of this theme. It appeals to the kid in me. Finally, for those who don't like, please don't buy it. More for those who do! Oh, and incidentally, when I went after Christmas to TRU to buy the new booster packs, they were all sold out. Almost all of the Ninjago, new and old, was gone. So I think it's selling very well. And if stores are marking it down, that's all the more savings for fans. I almost always try to buy when sets are on sale.

The "continuity" of recent action themes
SilvaShado replied to Haltiamieli's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It's just LEGO playing it safe. With one wave, they can present a story from beginning to end. If it sells well, great - it's on to the next theme. If it sells poorly, well, then it's a good thing they didn't have any more planned - it's on to the next theme. It's quite economical for LEGO, a good strategy, no matter how you look at it. But from fan's perspective, it sucks. Fans of each theme want more in that theme, but won't get it again. At least not exactly. The themes will rotate back into existence, but with a different twist or slant. I find it better for my budget so I'm not spending too much. And if I really like a theme, I buy as many of the sets as I can to make my own creations to fit in the theme. As for the classicness of the recent sets, I am hopeful that this will lead towards mythological or more historical themes. But with it being an adventure theme, it will only be so realistic as they'll need to include adventurers of some type. It's not too bad, but I was personally hoping for more from Pharaoh's Quest. Most of the vehicles sucked except the plane. -
I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but if you talking about the new Heroica expansions, the map on LEGO's website shows 5 new locations. I blogged about it. Will do!

Awesome zombie attack!! Thanks for sharing.

Where can I find the listing with the piece counts? If the sets are as big as people are saying, then the prices seem reasonable for a licensed series where they have to make a lot of new molds and print pieces in new colors.

The Target near me has them in the girl aisle right next to Polly Pocket. It really is amazing how similar the figures are.

Okay, I got it now. He can defeat a monster in melee combat like normal, but if he rolls it and he's not next to a monster, he can move farther. Makes a lot of sense for a Ninja to be able to move quickly. I definitely like it. I still haven't found the piece of paper that I wrote down abilities for each of the ninjas, but as soon as I do, I'll post it. I'm also hoping to have some time this month to remake the Ninjago board to be compatible with Heroica.

Monster Fighters 2012
SilvaShado replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm really hoping there will be a Zombie set, hopefully a Zombie battle pack. But I'm not sure since there wasn't a zombie picture in the prelims, but that doesn't mean there won't. It's just no confirmation yet, but I am hopeful! -
I agree. Most people who don't like a LEGO product aren't going to waste time posting about it unless they have something they want to say. And not everyone likes Friends. I'm in a love/hate relationship with Friends. I love 95% of it, but hate the other 5% - the figures. But like everyone has said, just buy the sets for what you like and toss the rest. I'm sure there are a lot of people who won't be buying these sets at all. Some may have posted here, but most probably have just ignored it and moved on to themes that they like.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
SilvaShado replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm hopeful with the new changes they're making and ones that they've said they'll do, the quality of the projects will improve. They have talked about doing more moderation to reduce the number of projects that don't fall into the guidelines and making projects go through review before they allowed to be posted. It'll take time, but CUUSOO is in beta so it's not supposed to be a finished service. But there are a lot of good quality creations on CUUSOO. Some are hard to find, but as people talk about them, they're getting more votes and rising up the ladder. -
VIP Exclusive 850458 LEGO® Minifigures set
SilvaShado replied to Thego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If they're not able or willing to make the body printing then it's a no-go for the figure. Unfortunately for me, I didn't get many zombies. Only 1 extra. I can only hope Monster Hunters has zombies. -
Very astute observation. I agree completely. Yes, it's for the girls, but what girls play with is filtered through their parents and what their parents will allow their kids to play with. For example, the other day on Facebook, one of my friends posted a picture of her sons standing in the LEGO store with the new monthly mini build. They were all happy, even though they had just spent 2 hours waiting in line. One mom commented, boy I'm glad my girls don't like LEGO. I'd never want to stand in line for 2 hours for LEGO. So this just shows me that it really is the parents who filter what is appropriate for their children to play with. I bet if her girls had been exposed to LEGO without any filtering, they may enjoy it. But now they won't because mom is against it. I still have to say that my only beef with Friends is that the mini-dolls are not compatible with normal minifigures. But I will be buying these set for parts because I am in love with the new pieces and colors. I'll just be using the mini-doll's hair for my minifigures and tossing all the bald mini-dolls in a bag for storage. I'd sell them, but I don't know anyone who'd want bald dolls. lol!

Monster Fighters 2012
SilvaShado replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
lol! Yeah, isn't 99% of LEGO aimed at kids with that 1% aimed at adults? As it is, I love Ninjago, but then I love Ninjas. Yes, there are sets and concepts that I don't like, but overall, I am very happy and hooked on the series. And I'm sure I'll be the same way about Monster Fighters. I can only hope that there's an unannounced Zombie set. Hopefully, a Zombie battle pack. That would sell soo well! -
VIP Exclusive 850458 LEGO® Minifigures set
SilvaShado replied to Thego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So in other words, the Spartan, Zombie and Robot may have been in the top 5, but they're no longer producing those parts so LEGO went with runner-ups.... lame! At least they could have told us that in the new email. I would have felt much better about it if LEGO had honestly said, "Well, the top minifigures were this, but we can't make those anymore so you get these instead." Of course, that would have stirred up its own pot of controversy, so I guess LEGO is screwed no matter what. But it just begs the question of why they had the voting in the first place if they knew there were going to be figures that they couldn't make... I would have been much happier in the first place if they'd done a limited voting for just the figures they could make. It would have been more honest. But on the other hand, keeping it wide open for any figure in series 1 through 3 shows LEGO what people are interested in. I can only hope that the Spartan, Zombie and Robot placed high so that LEGO knows what to make next... Yeah, LEGO can't win one way or another on this... -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
SilvaShado replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh, it's not my project, just one that I am supporting. But I do agree, it is one of the best models on CUUSOO! I was going to support it, but someone said that it would be taken down soon since it's made by someone under 18... I guess I can still support it anyway. If gets taken down, at least it will have my vote for the future. -
VIP Exclusive 850458 LEGO® Minifigures set
SilvaShado replied to Thego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Agreed. I think LEGO looked at the results and weeded out the ones they didn't want to reprint. This is hat's left over. I mean, come on - the fisherman?! So not unique, especially with the fishing pole in almost every series since him. Glad the elf is there, but then I bought a lot of him so I don't need this set for another elf. And I'm not interested in the rest so I'll pass... -

That sucks that you got locked out when you're not under 13. I know they were going to make that change, guess they went too far the other way. But I'm able to log in just fine. So hopefully they'll get back to you soon. As for the projects, I wasn't sure where to post to share projects that I like so I figure I'll post them here until someone tells me otherwise. Haunted Mansion: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/7776 Back to the Future: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/96 Modular Western Town: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/1787 Rise to the Wicked: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/2685 The Winchester: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/7451 Flooded Temple Ruins: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/6616 There are others that I supported, but it's sometimes hard to navigate the site, especially when the links to view more won't open. -
I figured out some abilities for the ninja a while ago, but haven't gotten to redesigning the temple board for Heroica. I'll find the piece of paper I wrote the abilities down on and post them. I think I stuck them in the Ninjago game box. So the shield doesn't allow him to defeat a monster? Isn't that a disadvantage?

I finally checked out the Friends in store and must say that I love the new pieces and colors. I love the butterfly, new flower molds and all the "tools." As much as I dislike the mini-dolls for not being compatible with normal minifigures, I'm sure I'll be buying these sets on sale for the parts. I am so happy with the new azure blue - especially with so many large plates in that color. I am 95% in love with these sets. If only they had been normal minifigures, I wouldn't be so torn about buying these. But that just saves me money. If I loved these completely, I'd want to buy one of each to keep as is and then buy extra copies for parts. This way, I can just focus on buying for parts. More money for Super Heroes and Ninjago.

Good point. I think LEGO could easily do. The question is whether they will. I think I'm okay with either a static pose or a poseable horse. The more elves the better! Especially a female elf so I can make my elven village.
-
We finally got one earlier this year. So exciting! It was the final blacksmith shop for us to get. Now we have all the Castle blacksmiths plus my own MOC version. I really hope LEGO does more medieval stores/town life.
-
Thanks for the responses about the new horse. I really hope that it is a fully movable horse rather than just a set mold of a horse rearing. That one pose would not be very useful. I can't wait for more detailed pictures!

New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive
SilvaShado replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I saw it in my local LEGO store yesterday and it does look very nice. I'm so happy for the new female minifigure in the green dress, but sad that they just re-included the same queen. I also found it odd that everything for the Falcon Knight is in the Dragon Knight colors, like they just switched the shields at the last minute. I'm not completely complaining because I like Falcon Knights, but I suspect that this should have been a final culmination for the Dragon Knights versus the Lion Knights. Here's hoping I can afford two copies, one to build as is and for parts!
