  1. Ouch that's expensive, especially since I just want the ship :-( :-(
  2. Oh, it looks so beautiful, must have it!!! How much does it cost? :-/
  3. I wonder, the hull of the cargo ship itself, what set does it come from? :-) I like it a lot.
  4. I actually came up with another idea whilst reading this thread. I suppose that everybody here at some point in their life has seen a controlled demolition of buildings either in real life or on TV. I think that a demolition company could fit in the 'industry' theme proposed here. When (old) buildings have to make way for new construction projects and tearing them down manually proves to be too expensive they call in the demolition companies who plan these projects for several months. I thought that there was a set in the Steven Spielberg theme where you had a movie set of a bank being blown up. Though I don't have that set myself, perhaps a similar techinque could be used for demolitions. They examine the building's weak points. Calculate how many explosives of what type (conventional or steel cutting explosives for example) are needed. How the building must fall in order to prevent collateral damage, and weaken vital parts of the buildings like structural columns and elevators so they don't need too many explosives in order to get the whole thing down to the ground. If you're gonna have old, polluting industrial bfactories and 'green' government agents, you might as well have demolition contracters who tear down the place when LEGOtown's government for example orders the demolishment after a lengthy activists vs industry trial. :-D Just naming ideas here. :-D Haha, look at it go *wub* *wub* *wub* Explosives rule *y*
  5. Since the replies date from yesterday and today I don't know when it's your birthday :'-( yesterday or today? but in case I'm late I'd like to wish you nonetheless a :-) Happy Piraty Day ahead of you! *y*
  6. Well ... I know it seems strange, but David here got a tad frustrated with nobody (except of course Mr Tiber and Bonaparte) ever replying to his creation, which he had spent ever so many man hours on, that I decided to provide the international, brick pirates loving community with a (perhaps bit obvious) hint. Apparently it did succeed in making people reply, didn't it? :-D

    The Vasa

It looks as nice as the real one! And I saw it *wub* *wub* yes that was a wonderful day, to all who have the money I advise going to Stockholm and viewing it if you haven't done so already But to get back to the ship, I find it even more impressive the model isn't a waterline one, he built the entire hull, very nice indeed *y* *y* *y*
  8. Oh I know, play with lego in bed ... Oh no wait *wacko* that'll scare her into thinking she's engaged with a maniacal psycho, I don't think it's your intention making her think that :-D :-D I don't know really, how to get a woman interested in Lego? :-/ make a little vignette of her doing what she loves doing most? perhaps? :-|
  9. I voted divers cause the pirates weren't in the list :-D If they were however divers would still come in as a close second. It's so versatile I think. If you have a bit of pirates and divers. I pretend a ghost ship sank and so many years later is visited by divers who find relics, treasures, horrifying secrets or whatever. Get them eaten by sharks, lost in the sea, possibilities are endless as far as I'm concerned. I even constructed a little ROV for my own divers which I have to post on your own creations forum soon. Just haven't gotten to it really :-P I just need to find a way to connect it to the sub with a cage and everything. But a long story short; Pirates first, divers close second :-)
  10. looking good so far, the stern looks way better this way *y* *y* *y* Btw I tried to upload some more pics of the frigate on brickshelf the way it looks now though it only worked partially. Somehow I couldn't upload more than three pics and two of those are the same. :S I can't figure out what's the problem so I'll just leave it before I do something stupid :-|| lol PS Too bad no one ever replies on your frigate!!!!!
  11. Whoow 8-
  12. LOL, I know, My mistake, I hope this creation will look as good as his Denise I'll wait,
  13. Pagina kan niet worden weergegeven. well that sucks, what do I do?
  14. I'm sorry, but I'm a complete retard when it comes to computers, don't I have to copy paste an internet URL link instead of something that comes from my documents? correct me if I'm wrong, I'm dumb when it comes to these sort of things. :-P
  15. hmm? where's the link? I can't wait to see it though. The choice of ship you want to base it on is interesting :-P but where's the link though?
  16. three words Robocop goes LEGO!!! I like a lot :-P like sinner already pointed out, the enclosed cockpit gives it a special feel I think
  17. OMG that was hilarious, just like the previous issue, nice job *y* *y* - I'm going to put you in a full body cast! - We need a distraction, either get wacked or eat clam cream. *thinks for a few seconds* - Whack me again ... Couldn't stop laughing :'-) . Like watching a soap only with lego. :-D :-D :-D But was it my imagination or is this issue significantly shorter than the previous one? :-)
  18. Yesss! First to comment. lol :-P You've got a fine-looking MOC there oo7! 8-o I especially like the cliff where those poor pirates met their end. Poor, poor pirates. How unlucky. May I also say that your cafe corner and the little street with horse and carriage are amazingly done, with eye for detail. *y* *y* *y* I always love details *sweet* I certainly hope to see more additions to the port in the future
  19. I like both creations but especially the first one :) It seems so cosy :-D and neat ;-) Though I was wondering what the little magnet in the corner of the island is for? Does it have something to do with the crane?
  20. I played with all the lego in the bath tub, not just pirates but other things as well, and in the end I always pretended the ship exploded or something and I had Lego floating around everywhere. :) Little dead minfigs getting eaten by sharks and mantarays and what not. Though perhaps there's no age limit to playing with lego, is there one for playing with lego in the bath? ;-) The real annoying part is when you had to dry it using a towel. Really hated that, but it made my day :-P Lego ship Videos like this one remind me of the fun I had. :-D
  21. The sixth, though you can read it on my profile ;-)
  22. Well ... Never ever trust your ship to float, even if its hull is watertight, it isn't stable (like mentioned before). Trust me, I have years of experience playing with lego in the bath tub *sad* The fun thing is that minifigs justfloat around and others do not, some sink and others do not, the ship capsize instantely yet many lego pieces come floating back up to the surface. An enigma that has puzzeled 'till this day. BTW I advise everybody who hasn't already, to play in the bath tub with their lego pirates. I swear to god it's fun. Well it was for me (like when I was 8 :-P ) No matter, try it, you'll be surprise how fun such childish behaviour can be.
  23. Oops, well, it's a bit conr-tradictial but though I'm atheist I have grown accustomed to saying Oh My God. What else would I say? :-$ Well Flemsih is the word but Imean, Eastern Flemish and Flemish Brabant sound sowell, let's jsut say it's easier saying it in Dtch :-D
  24. Well, Antwerp really, though I'm not actually Antwerp - ish? (God only knows how to say or spell this 8-| ) I'm half Oost-Vlaams and half Vlaams-Brabants and I live in Antwerp. (Does anybody know the translation of that? :-P ) I just knew it, I was thinking to myself that Flanders may be confused with Ned Flanders. I can assure we we're there first :-D ;-) Besides I'm a strict atheist. |-/ Since I'm a teenager and all (I'm not that social and I don't even have a cellphone so I guess I'm not your 'stereotypical' teen) I've been having troubles with buying LEGO. :'-( Yes, though I certainly like to buy it, I feel, well you know, it's a child's toy, on the box it says from age 5 to 12. I'm nearly 16. I feel so ashamed when I stand there in front of the register. It's so embarrasing :-D :-D
