[OL - CHIII - CAT C] A'Chua's People
Ross Fisher replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Beleg the Ranger Thanks! I thought it would be a neat idea to build vertically, and a fishing tower seemed a neat idea. @Bodi Naturally, assimilation was a big thing back in Roman times. I'm really happy with how the fish look, too. Like a proper shoal. @Fraunces Thanks. I have been doing François' story epigramally, and something from the Natives' perspective seemed appropriate for this category. @blackdeathgr Cheers! I was particularly happy with the spider web as a fishing net. I've had them knocking around for a while and never used them. This was my chance! -

...and as the days ended on the fourth lunar cycle, A'chua the Voyager returned from the West. And he brought with him a priest from that strange land. And he brought with him a scribe, to record the priest's deeds. And he brought with him a warrior, to guard the priest. And he brought with him a child, to learn from the priest. And it was good. And the priest did speak to the fishermen of the Tyree'Dee. And he proclaimed that the gods recognised by the Tyree'Dee were the same as those recognised in the East. That Rangaroa, Master of the Seas, the Bountiful One, is known to them as Pus'hēden. That Lono, Lord of the Heavens, the Fertile Father, is known to them as Sus. That Te Pua, Master of Death, Guardian of Flames, is known to them as Hē'des. And he proclaimed that other tribes from the West would come. And they would wear the badge of the Lotus. And they would not recognise our gods. And they would not respect our traditions. And they would kill our people. And they would plunder our possessions. And they would trample our crops. And they would despoil the graves of our ancestors. All this, A'chua the Voyager confirmed. Taken from the record of the Tyree'Dee

@Sir Kingston It's a nice build. I'd like to see you experiment with Studs Not On Top building. Think it would work well for you. -

[Factions Ep.5 - Cat B][L7 - Anobis - CS] Easy Starter Mission
Ross Fisher replied to karmajay's topic in Factions Archive
It's a good start for your first MOC. nicely done. My suggestion is more about your photography. You might like to try using a single-colour backdrop behind the model, and cropping off the excess border so we see the MOC as large as possible. But, like I say, it's a very good start, and I look forward to seeing more from you. -

White milk? Wouldn't be a poppy, would it? Coz there are fields of those on other islands. -
Faction: The Imperial Triumvirate (TT)
Ross Fisher replied to Darth Bjorn's topic in Factions Archive
@Beleg the Ranger Great that you've already thought about it. Just a couple of other things to consider: Each character has one skill to start out with from this list. Have a look and think what you might like your character to be like. Be aware that the Triumvirate already has quite a few members with soldier skills. A Bounty Hunter would definitely be welcome, though. Also, you'll notice that there aren't any force users as active characters in the game. From the mechanics side of things, thats just so we can keep things balanced, but it's also so we can explore the more grounded side of life in the Galaxy. Lastly, Darth Malgus was born 3701 years before the Battle of Yavin. Factions is set 5+ years after the Battle of Yavin. This would mean that your Sig would probably be over 3500 years old at this stage. This would likely put most species out of option for you. Just something to consider.- 126 replies

Faction: The Imperial Triumvirate (TT)
Ross Fisher replied to Darth Bjorn's topic in Factions Archive
@Beleg the Ranger Hi! Factions is based on this map. Send Bjorn a message and he'll invite you to our Discord channel. Once you're there, we can talk about strategic priorities for the Faction. First thing I'd suggest is putting together a SigFig to play as.- 126 replies

[Factions Ep. 5 Cat. B][R4 - Gigor - TT] The Star Dragon
Ross Fisher replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Factions Archive
@marvelBoy123 thanks. TBH, I don't think it's my best work. I'll get back to improving the quality now. -
*Your entry has earned 5 XP* Y'know, I met a Star Dragon once? Watched it die out on one of Gigor's frozen oceans. As far as I could make out, it got caught in our tractor beam as it navigated deep space. Got dragged through the atmosphere and slammed into the ice. Turns out their bodies were designed to handle the vacuum of deep space; not an impact at terminal velocity. 'Course, there was nothing I could do to save it. My tiny bottle of bacta-gel was all but useless to a creature that size. Couldn't exactly call support in from base, either. What's Triumvirate command going to do with a Star Dragon, after all? Well, I stayed with it for half an hour, keeping it company. I watched the lights in its eyes growing dimmer, and it's breath growing fainter. In the end, it didn't have the strength to hold itself above the water any longer, and slowly slipped under. Writing that report was definitely not the kind of fun I was sold when I signed up for diplomatic service, I can tell you. Marked the location just in case Triumvirate research and development wanted to inspect the body. Pretty sure no-one ever bothered to take a look.

Factions - Introduction, Discussion, and Core Rules
Ross Fisher replied to goatman461's topic in Factions Archive
@karmajay Factions would be happy to have a complete beginner. I know that many of the Factions provide constructive criticism on request, so you can improve your building. You can also get quite far with using instructions and then putting them in context. -
[OL - CHIII - CAT B] Someone worth fighting for
Ross Fisher replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@blackdeathgr @Keymonus @Khorne Yeaaahhhh, that was my attempt at a Scottish dialect. Glad you got the gist, even if the whole thing was pretty impenetrable. @blackdeathgr The mask is this one. I've had it knocking around for ages, and this seemed the perfect time to use it. I really liked the sloping roof. I wanted a cross between a classical Greek temple and an Aztec building, and I really like the result. Bit gutted that doesn't come across more, but I'm still pretty proud of the build. -
Aye, so, thur we waer: the Cannen, 'is scribe, ole 'Chua isself, the wee lassie we took aboard in Fatu Hiva, an' yers true. An' 'Chua'd took us tae a bay on 'Oleonda. Filled tae burstin' wie ole ruins. Cannen'd asket tae meet wie the most influentuel folk on the isle. An' by thunner, din't he just? A whole tribe: nought but wimmen. Aye, and the bonniest, most generous-proportioned wimmen yeh ever did see. They'd straighten out the Highlands, I'll tell yeh that for nought. So thurs me; tryin desperate to keep me eyes off their assets and on their very pointy weapons. An thurs yon lassie; all pint-sized terror tryin to get the drop on everyone. An thurs 'Chua, desperately hoping he ain't upset the wimmen, or the Cannen, or anyone else. An thurs the beg cheese, deciding we'er tae burn em all at the stake or start preachin the gospel o' Hades at 'em. An ah says tae masself; 'MacSpud, what you gone got yerssel intae now?' --- overheard in a Rassilion bar many years later.

José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
Ross Fisher replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I'm beginning a petition to rename this thread "José's Inn" on account of the fact that Redbeard's mysterious companion is allegedly planning to open a franchise in every settlement.
