Studio io - Axle Length
KennoMonkey replied to Chilly's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
There are some more common color schemes. For example, black axles tend to be even lengths and light bluish gray odd lengths. That might cut your number of trials in half. HTH -
Yes. And I noticed you also need to pay attention to the timing. The wings flex and if you get the timing right you can build that up. Thanks!!

I just built the newly released 10327. It’s so intricate. Here’s my question, the wings flap a couple of inches. Are they supposed to flap more? I messed up the landing ramp and had to disassemble and rebuild. So I’m a little worried I messed up something else.

That be a mighty fair ship o’ the heavens. Har!

I had this happen from both sides. I just want to add that I opted for peace of mind in both cases. A company sells one of my most popular designs, even to the point of publishing my very own instruction with no credit whatsoever. I decided not to even contact them and to be flattered by it. Someone else called me out for “copying” their design. There were so many external differences that even the internal details couldn’t be the same. I could swear I’d never seen their MOC before this, but maybe I wasn’t remembering correctly. I decided that “inspired by” could be true and gave them that credit. They were pleased and we ended on friendly terms. All builders know how difficult design can be. It’s also a little vulnerable to put it out there. I wish we could all be supportive, but there are immature bell ends out there. I’m sorry this happened to you. Back to original question, I feel you are justified in being miffed. I just hope it didn’t ruin your day or anything and that venting here helped.

Started working on this a while back trying to find a style I like. I'm going for a hand-drawn style that I don't actually have to draw :) Does this look too much like what it is (image processed renders)? Feedback most welcome!

I just got Commander Cody. He needed a clone specific accessory. This "bazooka" shows up frequently in the Clone Wars show. I know my rocket launcher seems huge. I just figure comically large is the Lego style. Plus, 2x2 is too small and 3x3 is somewhat difficult to work with. Free instructions on Rebrickable

[MOC] Wookie and Rebel Commandos Meet-n-Greet
KennoMonkey replied to KennoMonkey's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! And, I obviously agree. Most of the aftermarket stuff doesn’t look “Lego” to me. It’s overly detailed and the proportions are too fine. -
A small MOC scene to show off some custom minifig blasters... I got Commando Rex in there. hee hee... The bounty hunter is Ketsu Onyo from Star Wars Rebels. And, yes, I used an xacto to make her Westar-35.

[MOC] "Chess Ko Sebulba" Episode 1 The Phantom Menace
KennoMonkey replied to A_Goodman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sweet! I love that scene and you totally captured it. All your MOCs are cinematic -
My nephew and I were getting into the Microfighters with their comically oversized pilots and heads sticking up out of the cockpit and thought of this Dune inspired ornithopter. So cool in the movie, just as I pictured them from reading the books. Playable and very swooshable. It's pretty simple, cheap and easy to build. My first MOC and first ornithopter design. [MOC] - Rebel Incom T-65 X-wing starfighter (1/32 scale)
KennoMonkey replied to Max_Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Cool cool cool. Love the cockpit and excellent landing gear design. You can only do so much at this scale, nevertheless very accurate. -
Very nice cockpit and fuselage design. Good job!

Thanks for the props. I'm so new I had to look up NPU. What a nice compliment :]
