Why Ancient Rome never became an official theme?
leafan replied to astral brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
They've never done it because they primarily sell to kids and kids *mostly* don't know what Rome is, let alone ancient Rome. All the slavery, ex trade etc isn't a valid reason in my opinion because kids don't even know what it is like I mentioned, and it's not implied by the visuals of the era, unless they plan to do a brothel. With the supposed target towards adults recently, I think it is possible, however unlikely.- 7 replies

This week I'd like to draw your attention to a lovely idea by Kolonialbeamter called 'The Royal Flagship'. This project has been on Ideas for some time now and could use some love from like-minded supporters. It currently has 167 days left to get around 400 supporters more in order to receive extra time. Regarding the lack of interior detail, the designer had this to say: So the designer is open to suggestions it seems. I have invited them to come here and discuss now that this is posted. Thanks for your considerationof this Idea. If you'd like to support it now, please do so here. Do you have any thoughts on this Idea? Would you like to see it made into an official set? Let us know!

Quite an achievement! I know that idea isn't technically Castle but hopefully the similarities will make TLG understand the demand for these types of set.- 532 replies

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
leafan replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
@Brickander Brickumnus - Thanks for the images. From having a good look, I'd recommend that you ask the seller if all 5 sails are there. I can see at least 1, possibly 2 sails but it'd be good if he could confirm. I'd also recommend asking the seller to pour it all out (or lay out the parts, if possible) so that you can see more clearly. Worth a try right? Anyway, it looks like the lot has the instructions for 6059 Knight's Stronghold (one of the Black Knights era Castle sets): I can also see some Blacktron 2 classic space sets, and at least some of the parts to 6952 Solar Power Transporter (you can tell from the convex corner piece): There's also a large trans-green dish which I initially thought was Blacktron 2, but turns out the large dishes were never used there, so that means it's 41128 Amusement Park Space Ride, which itself is from 2016, so it's not all classic sets: Hope that helps bud. The price per kilo that I mentioned is without shipping, since that can vary wildly, but I've very sure of the price as I buy a lot of used Lego. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to help.- 502 replies

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
leafan replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hard to say without seeing the pictures, but as Azog said, it depends on key elements being present. Generally, the maximum I'd pay for 1kg of Lego is £10 ($12), but I'd be happier at £7 ($9), but perhaps the markets are different in the US. I'd expect the US to be cheaper honestly. That said, if the BSB is virtually complete with all rare parts and minifigures (sails being key), then it could be worth a punt. My advice would be to haggle though. In these times, the seller may be willing to settle for less.- 502 replies

Hi Marta / @MartaFischer! Welcome to Eurobricks. Do you mean the board games or the computer games? I did briefly try the Hobbit PC game and I regularly play the Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed mobile/PC game (I play on PC). I have never tried to play one of the board games.

Hi everybody, This week, instead of a new Ideas entry, I'd like to draw your attention to a great ship that will soon fail as an Idea and have to have words with Davey Jones' Locker! Support now to save it! I present, the Spanish Galleon Warship by Babyteeth. You may be familiar with Babyteeth as his/her entry of the Caribbean Clipper is currently surging through to 10,000 votes. There are far, far more images over at the Ideas entry, so go there to view those and support it now. Do you have any thoughts on this Idea? Do you love it? Hate it? Tell us why. Most importantly, if you do love it - please go and support it on Ideas now. It doesn't have much time left!

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
leafan replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Today I have added the following Ideas. Roman Warship by Iyan Ha: Medieval Observatory by SMARLINL Old Castle. by MasterOGEL: Ninja Outpost by Greenflame24 (Yes, a Ninja entry!): Additionally, some good news is that @povoq's Siege the castle ! entry has been saved from falling off the Ideas website as it reached the 1000 support threshold for gaining extra time. You now have 199 days to support this great Idea. Hopefully, we here at Eurobricks had something to do with that.- 532 replies

Oh that was you? Great. I am AdmiralCuriousDog on Ideas and have supported your project both there and here at Eurobricks. We support Historic projects from the index here. Yours was shared on Page 13. I will add your tag. May I suggest using a picture of your Idea as you Avatar here on Eurobricks? It'll let people identify you and raise profile for your Idea.

Great job @Captain Red! You should post this in our dedicated Pirates sub-forum, or it's own MOC sub-forum; there will be lots more interest there. Looks like you're new here too, so welcome to Eurobricks! @Mister Phes Are you able to move this topic to a more suitable sub-forum?

I don't think that every era of history needs it's own sub-forum, but having one for the likes of Western and Tolkien wouldn't harm in my opinion. I could see Tolkien taking a few posts away from the main forum but for Western, it can only benefit. Right now, if you only wanted to see Western stuff, that would be difficult to filter to.
