  1. Hi Raj_UK and welcome to Eurobricks! For future reference, there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of this forum; I'll merge this with it in a bit As mentioned by neoconagenda there's several useful threads around, and here's a few more which you may find interesting: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67818 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67129 https://bricklinking10179.wordpress.com/ Good luck with the project if you decided to proceed with it.
  2. The Death Star II looks great on display, although it's very wobbly! Personally I'd chose that and the AT-ST & TIE Fighter, rather than the ISD - I can't cope with the idea of painted parts, but I guess that I'm a purist! I'm quietly hoping that TLG will release a new version of the ISD in the next few years, it's long overdue for a face-lift and it seems to be prone to 'sagging', due to the use of magnets.
  3. Hi Cjd223, for future reference there's a general SW Q & A pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit Re: your query, all I'd say is have a good think about what you want to do. I tried to Bricklink a 10030 a couple of years ago, but even then it was difficult to get a lot of the parts new, and I just got frustrated with it and had to admit defeat! However, have you considered Bricklinking the Death Star II rather than buying one? It's relatively cheap to build and most of the parts are readily available, there's even a thread about it: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71088&st=0 If you haven't Bricklinked anything before it's great fun, but it's essential to do lots of planning first!
  4. Thanks BrickCommander, it's good to hear that the set is selling so well. I think it's fair to say that it isn't perfect, but that's understandable given the complex shape of the original. I really enjoyed building it and it's one of my favourite UCS sets to date. It's one of the few OT ships that's truly iconic, and TLG has done a great job of translating it into a set that the vast majority of fans highly regard. Please can we have either a UCS AT-AT, Nebulon B or TIE Bomber next!
  5. It's definitely between the 2nd - 9th in the UK:
  6. The UK website seemed to be very quiet last night, and my order processed very quickly unlike previous years, which is probably due to the lack of decent offers (and there's also a lot of the SW sets at 20-30% off elsewhere at the moment). Oh well, at least I'll get my Admiral Yuralen
  7. I'll probably end up buying the UCS TIE at some point, but I think that it will be heavily discounted in the next 18 months so I'm prepared to wait. Personally I'm amazed that they've used blue technic pins for the stand, they look genuinely awful. I appreciate that they're not currently available in black, but considering the high-end status of the model it's surprising that they didn't do another print run of them!
  8. Hi Flieger, I don't think that this needs a dedicated thread, so I'll merge it into the general SW Q&A thread in a bit
  9. I'll admit that I have a problem with UCS Falcons - if I look at most things for long enough I can normally start to see one.....
  10. Yes, usually all of the offers are listed just after midnight. It's the best time to order if you can, as it's usually fairly quiet and everything should be in stock
  11. I've just been looking at the May 4th Promo that I received in the mail recently and noticed that there's a Falcon tucked away in the top-right of the image! I'm hoping that's a very subtle hint from TLG; they've done it before and I'm hoping that a decent-sized version is in the pipeline....Apologies for the quality of the image but it's very small!
  12. Thanks TWP, that's interesting I was determined not to buy the Ewok Village because, well it has Ewoks, but I get the feeling that it could be nearing the end of it's production run. Perhaps I'll get the Sandcrawler instead, it looks quite an interesting build.
  13. Great work Lukasguy, that looks really impressive! Hopefully TLG will release a new version otherwise I might have to invest in some spray paint at some point!
  14. I don't think they will unfortunately, as it was only released a couple of months ago and seems to be selling very well! I think it's more likely that the Death Star, UCS X-Wing, UCS Sandcrawler & Ewok Village may be on the list, with a mixture of the smaller sets (B-Wing, Mos Eisley Cantina, MTT etc). I'm quite looking forward to making a couple of orders, the Admiral Yularen minifigure is the best May 4th promo that they've had for several years
  15. That's amazing ScottishDave, and far better than the original set. I really like the design of your engines, they look suitably chaotic and are crammed with details. If you're interested in the Hyperdrives, there's a drawing of one in the Haynes worshop manual for the Falcon! To be honest, I'm not sure if it's based on anything, but it's quite an interesting design
  16. Hi everyone, I've just moved all of the posts regarding the May 4th promotion to this (newly renamed) thread: (link here) Please can we keep this thread for 2015 sets & rumours! Thanks, Robin
  17. I've spent far too much time trawling through Bricklink during the last couple of years, I think I need to get another hobby!
  18. Hi Mereel, I haven't seen one but you might find the post below of interest. Most of the technic frame is hidden when the model is completed, apart from a few areas in the front mandibles, so you should be able to use alternate colours for it if you want
  19. The new sets have just been listed on Amazon UK as pre-orders, prices below: Imperial Shuttle Tyderium - £79.99 Final Duel - £69.99 Naboo Fighter - £54.99 Flash Speeder - £34.99 The Shuttle seems quite reasonable, but I'm not sure how they arrived at £54.99 for the Naboo Fighter
  20. Hi, Isn't that just a 2x4 Plate (part 3020) and a 4x4 Plate Cut corner (part 30503) that are joined together?
  21. It seems a bit odd that Leia has a fabric poncho, whilst Han's trenchcoat is printed.. perhaps it's an attempt by TLG to create a discussion point! I still think that the printing is getting too much - I much prefer the rebels from 8038!
  22. You're welcome, it's a massive model and I'm sure you'll be pleased with it! That's perfectly normal and they'll help to act as 'suspension' to the finished model, so it should survive any minor asteroid impacts! I only did it as a project to keep me occupied during the winter, and I'd promised myself that I'd sell it as soon as I'd finished it. In reality I've already got a sizable collection, so by selling it on it helped to lessen the guilt a little....and helps to keep Mrs Lobot happy!
  23. Hi Dino i) Log into Bricklink ii) Click on 'Wanted' tab at the top of the screen iii) Select the 'Part out a Set' hyperlink iv) Enter the set number and follow the steps on screen (I don't recommend that you select the 'Notify Me By E-Mail' option though!!) You can either remove parts you don't need during the initial stages or at any point later on, it's really straightforward. However, I managed my initial orders via Excel and only created a wanted list when I'd got down to around 1,500 parts. The one disadvantage of relying on a Wanted list is that it will frequently highlight lots of stores with huge inventories, but they won't necessarily be the cheapest! It will pay to shop around...
  24. Superb work Anio, another masterpiece! Apologies for the delay, but better late than never....!
  25. Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been busy imaging planets recently! This is the only photo I took of it before I disassembled it. It's not very pretty to look at in black, but it doesn't look awful (and I didn't want to try painting it as most of the attempts I've seen at doing so failed!). The main problem is that the rigging parts are very flexible, and are under quite a bit of stress when attached to the ship... I tried to build one a couple of years ago, but gave up after I'd sourced about 50% of the parts. I was trying to order everything new though, which in hindsight I shouldn't have limited myself to. I keep hoping that we'll get a new version of it soon, otherwise I might try to buy a complete one at some point. It cost me £624.89, including postage, but I didn't bother with any minifigures. Virtually everything was sourced new, so you could probably do it for a bit less if you shop-around and use alternatives for some of the rarer parts. My 'DIY' printed dish was well worth the extra cost though, and I was really pleased with the final result. As I've said before, it's an amazing challenge, but I'd strongly recommend that you spend a lot of time planning before you order anything. Cheers, Robin
