  1. I'm starting to run out of shelf space for models and will have to redirect my Lego obsession towards minifigures for a bit. :D I'm really enjoying current Star Wars comics and would like to represent its original and already iconic characters. A couple of very nice Doctor Aphras have made the rounds but no Inspectors Magna Tolvan so far. Someone's mocked up decals of her face and body which could be readily printed but necessary equipment's prohibitively expensive for a private collector. Is anyone aware of a company that would offer small-batch bespoke minifig prints? Alternatively, this thread's clearly full of people with more money & enthusiasm than sense; do people reckon it'd make sense to band together and approach, say, Firestar with specific requests and pledges to buy 10+ of the desired minifig? Essentially a Kickstarter for minifig designs? At this point I don't even know if that'd be economically sensible for them; would it?
  2. Here you go! :) They've been gracing my shelves for several weeks now and they're lovely little builds!
  3. I ordered enough parts to build two – one for each of my patrol stormtroopers. Looking forward to assembling them! :)
  4. That's a solid riddle Jerac! :D Sounds a bit like an X-Wing but I think it'll turn out to be something else. Good luck fixing the wobble!! :) JarJarBonks: Agreed, the TIE/D makes sense and most of the design is directly adaptable from the Interceptor. Although perhaps the pilot bubble would have to be substantially rebuilt since the two horizontal pylons keep the model together to a large extent.
  5. Jerac, any teases for upcoming designs? :) BTW just built your TIE Bomber; the sleek design is absolutely stunning and comes at no sacrifice to swooshability, which is much appreciated!
  6. Loving your Aphra!! :)
  7. I'm trying to figure out if the new triangular tiles on Brickheadz Boba Fett's helmet are red or dark red. What do people think?
  8. I'm currently assembling the TIE/fo and trying to figure out why you exchanged the bottom dish from the TIE/ln and TIE/in (and later reused for the TIE/x1). My original hypothesis was that this was forced by a lack of a black 6x6 dish but that's not it. Was it the vertical engine layout? Edit: Just noticed the double post – sorry. :(
  9. No Elthree though. :( Odd since we got K2 in the first wave of Rogue One sets.
  10. Wookieepedia claims that the droid in CC is, in fact, IG-88, and makes no mention of other IG-88s in the new Canon continuity. And IIRC Zuckuss's head was just taken from a monster prop shop so it's fairly likely they didn't give it much thought when setting up that scene in the Cloud City.
  11. I'm guessing the Sentinel was unfamiliar to whoever leaked the impending release of a 'V-19'? The ships are somewhat similar.
  12. The truly mindblowing thing is that these models are not only incredibly accurate, they're also perfectly swooshable. In fact, with the exception of Imperial TIEs' cockpits (which I suspect Jerac intends to fix in an upcoming review) everything is extremely sturdy. They're basically ready for (slightly older) children! And Jerac, thank you!
  13. Sure thing, I hope this does the trick!
  14. Just finished the TIE/sf! Great build as always and it's very impressive that you managed to sneak two minifigs into such a small SNOTty space. So many great details to point out, but I'll go with the shape of engine exhausts. I made a small mod on my model to improve swooshability. The back panel/window easily moves side-to-side since it's attached to the following stack: 1x2 plate, 1x2 modified plate w/ 1 stud, modified 1x1 tile w/ clip. I replaced it with the following stack: 2x3 plate, 2x3 plate, 2x modified 1x2 plate w/ vertical clip & modified tile w/ grille. I also added one inverted 2x2 bracket above the 1x2 bracket to hold the new 2x3 stack firmly in place. The back now feels somewhat more robust. :)
  15. Found it! Thank you. :) There seems to be a lot of open space behind the astromech. And the yellow lever's weird.
  16. Where is everyone finding these photos? I assume linking in posts is frowned upon, but I'd appreciate a DM. :)
  17. That's a spectacular build – my hat's off to you! :) Will be building it in the near future for sure, thanks for providing the LXF. For what it's worth I think you could easily be asking for more. :)
  18. You'll probably know this by now but the new TIE pilots' helmets seem to come out of the same mould as the previous couple of iterations (at least based on photos). However I managed to fit pilots in just fine: all it took was to replace the topmost 2x2 red corner plate with a 2x1 plate, vacating the space beneath the pair of front-facing 1x1 bricks with a stud on one side, leaving them to attach only to the top 2x6 LBG plate and the two front top quarter domes. Structural integrity remains excellent and now there's a happy TIE pilot zooming around in her Interceptor. :)
  19. Praise May the 4th! I just bought both sets of instructions with a nice discount. Looking forward to putting these lovely builds together later in the year. I'm considering changing wing panel colours to white. Having played some Battlefront 2 white seems a tad more accurate than LBG but it's clear you've spent a good amount of time analysing every detail of these craft. Why did you settle on LBG in the end? Did you try both?
  20. Spot on! Earlier versions definitely undersized the central bubble relative to the rest of the body but you got it just right. I think I'll be replacing my TLG build with yours. :) Very impressive Jerac! With all four classic TIEs finished, will you be taking a (well deserved!) break, or have you already sunk your teeth into a new project? Oh and out of curiosity, do you have a specific preference for this "windshield" print (from the A-Wing vs TIE Advanced set) over its update in the TIE Striker and new TIE Fighter?
  21. I'm guessing those wide helmets include this one and the various print alternatives. Are there any correctly sized and shaped helmets? I'm aware of black stormtrooper helmets on the oldest TIE pilots but those are, ehh, not great.
  22. I'm absolutely loving the designs Jerac! In fact I've already ordered the instructions and parts and am looking forward to assembling both models. :) Just a quick question though: one comment I've come across suggested that new(er) TIE pilots don't fit into the cockpit because of their somewhat larger helmets. That doesn't sit right with me but I can't find a picture of one inside so I'd rather check with you. :) And if you're still looking for preferences on follow-up TIEs, I'm personally quite fond of what they tried to do with the Striker!
