  1. Thanks for the suggestions and comments everyone
  2. The MOC was designed in Studio. This is my first attempt at using any type of graphic design software. The design is completely studless. I wanted all of the top-level to be the same height but couldn't work out how to make the arches line up. Let me know if anyone has any feedback or tips on using the software.
  3. One of my friends thinks that some of the building techniques are similar to those used in the AAT, which was a "ball ache" to put together on a significantly smaller vehicle. It looks amazing but, I'll stick with my UCS version.
  4. It's more or less minifig scale. The cockpit is always bigger when we see inside the ship but, I get the impression they give the ship Tardis qualities when they make the sets. The Brick Vault version has more than double the number of pieces of the UCS version. From looking at the pictures, this might be due to replacing a few large pieces with lots of small pieces rather than increasing the size of the ship. The windscreen from the UCS ship goes for stupid amounts so I'm not sure how they'll get around that issue.
  5. I just had an email about Brick Vault's new set. The instructions are $50 and they estimate that the pieces cost $950 - $1100 so it isn't cheap. It looks smoother than the official UCS set so it would be interesting to see them next to each other.
  6. Is the price for the manual available? I can't see it in this thread or on StarBricks' website.
  7. Thanks for the feedback. I prefer minifig scale, which pushes me towards Brick Vault, but, the engines on the Star Bricks version are much nicer. Decisions, decisions...
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I hadn't compared the engines but, now that you've mentioned it I can see that the difference is huge.
  9. Can anyone comment on the differences in size, stability, building experience, and so on between this U-Wing and Brick Vault's U-Wing? StarBricks' U-Wing has around 500 extra pieces so I'm assuming it's a bit bigger?
  10. Thanks for the quick response.
  11. I know Brick Vault have released updated instructions of some MOCs, such as the U-Wing, UCS Ghost and Jerac's TIEs. Can this version of the RC be considered to be definitive or are the instructions likely to be significantly updated at some point? I'm definitely going to build it sooner or later but I don't want to start accumulating pieces until the instructions are 100% finished.
  12. Very nice work. I built this set last myself last month. I thought that the gaps in the wings and the canopy mount were two main issues with the model. I'll be interested to see the update when Jerac is finished.
  13. I think this one might work? Hope so as I've ordered the pieces!
  14. Great. I look forward to seeing the photos.
  15. Has there anyone here that has built the Brick Vault Z-95 and can comment on its stability?
  16. This looks really nice. I have a couple of question: 1) Do you anticipate having any issues with the wings bending? I know some people have complained about this with the BrickVaul Tyderium. 2) How does it compare to the official set in terms of size?
  17. Looks really nice. Is the official set a good donor set or are there a lot of different pieces?
  18. I prefer it the other way round. Jhae's cockpit is probably more accurate but, I don't like the fact that it isn't properly enclosed. Conversely, I think that Jhae's engines look better. Has anyone tried a hybrid of the two ships?
  19. Lucky you. My AT-AP has been sat 'awaiting stock' since July. Don't think I'm going to get it!
  20. Unfortunately not. I was thinking about a tile but, you're probably correct about it being too thick.
  21. That's really creative. Never seen one that scale before.
  22. That looks really nice. Do you think you could cover the exposed Technic sections in the lower part of the leg?
