  1. After doing some more research, it seems this is produced by a division on The LEGO Company in the hope that people will subscribe to their BrickMaster program. Thoughts?
  2. I probably know that better than most people on this forum - "The set pages need a parent...blah blah blah..."
  3. Why thank you very much Mister Phes! That might even convince me to get to making another Pirates film. We'll see. And congratulations Xrisl, you have been frontpaged!
  4. Raphy, there is a more in depth conversation on that over here.
  5. No, it's a box. Look at the cover again. It says "Includes Over 140 Bricks and 2 Minifigures!"
  6. Are these official LEGO sets? Because if they are, why aren't they on LEGO.com, and if they aren't, how are they allowed to sell with the LEGO logo on them?
  7. Interesting topic TheBrickster, and one that I've been thinking about for some time. I don't have a problem with displaying my trains as such, as when they aren't on a layout they are always on a small section of rail on my bookshelf. What I'm interested in is STORAGE. When I was exhibiting Blocksford in April, I noticed that the NMRA layout behind us were putting their trains in boxes. Small boxes that were the right size for the trains (of course they were, they were the boxes the trains probably came in). So now I want boxes that are similar. A perfect size would be a longer 9v track box. Any ideas?
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are official sets? The reason I ask is that I didn't think they were, then I saw the official LEGO logo which isn't allowed to be used even on fan websites logos let alone a product.
  9. I beg to differ: Emerald Night, Medieval Market Village, Millenium Falcon, Death Star and all the modular buildings just to name a few were all produced due to AFOL demand. How many 10 year olds do you know who can afford a $250 building?
  10. ...when you see the postman out your window every morning and you cross your fingers that a friend or relative has sent you a LEGO set with him.
  11. I'd agree with you if I could log into the Dashboard. Honestly mate, the sooner your ISP gives back some decent internet speeds so you can fix up WP the better! EDIT: I can log in now, and yes I sure as hell do agree that it should be frontpaged!
  12. Yet again TheBrickster, another nice train MOC. If you and Dave keep this up, we'll need a seperate train forum! I love the ladder at the back of the car, it adds a nice touch of realism to it. I think it could be improved if you got rid of the windows and replaced them with green brick (maybe even add a sticker there like keetong suggested) because freight wagons wouldn't have windows. If you decide to keep the windows there, the different shades of glass don't stand out. I didn't notice them until I read it. Now I just need to get me some of those doors and I can build my own boxcar! Wonderful work TheBrickster, I really admire your ability to whip up quality train MOC after quality train MOC without losing enthusiasm. Don't stop building em mate.
  13. Finally! Some solid proof for you dimwits that red and blue are the SAME! Look at the shakos, the same logo on both red AND blue. I honestly think that LEGO intended them to be on the same team, as they had a common enemy - the Pirates.
  14. Ah,so it is. Very well done disguising it! I could barely notice that obnoxious RC reciver on the train base that is so obvious in 7898. Fantastic work mate, I look foward to seeing a collection of rolling stock just as highly detailed as this for it to pull along.
  15. Wow, that is supurb! I love the roof curve. The colours selected are great too. So this runs on PF?
  16. Nice MOC mate, very nice indeed. We don't often see modern navy ships, so this is a nice change. One thing I could suggest to make this ship more realistic, is maybe if you used this piece on the bridge. It would make it look more like a real modern navy ship. Well done here, I hope you keep us posted on this and other MOCs.
  17. Wow, I look foward to this! I'll have to get up at 6 on Monday, but I think it'll be worth it. Thanks for sharing this piece of information fallentomato! I'm sure the STAR contest will produce some fantastic entries.
  18. Yargh, welcome matey! Welcome to Eurobricks, it's great to have another Pirates fan around. Are you familiar with Classic-Pirates.com? We update it daily with fresh content. The original and best Pirate blog and forum is certainly worth a trip to! Enjoy your stay here mate, and if ye need anything, don't hesitate to contact me or the rest of the crew.
  19. Nice effort there Hound Knight! Wonderful work, it's always a pleasure to see one of your drawings.
  20. Happy birthday guys, may your day be full of fun and happiness!
  21. Hmmm...I think this part is pretty useless. I would relly admire someone who could include it in a MOC as anything other than an oversized train nose.
  22. Well keep up these fantastic creations, and it'll happen more often!
  23. Thanks for the compliment keetong. The straight up is supposed to be white painted wood and the top section is meant to be painted brick. I did the straight up intentionally, but thanks for the comment. I might end up changing it. We'll see. Well you tell the railway company not to pinch my design! Thanks Eilif, I was actually really hoping you'd like this. Yours is one of my favourite layouts on the net. Sadly though, Blocksofrd won't start looking too realistic until I can get enough money to buy parts to balast the whole thing. Then I'll screw the realism up completely with random Pirates/spacemen/divers/jedi etc. all through the layout. But hey, that's what separates LEGO layouts to scale ones. You can do that, and that's the type of thing that I love about LEGO trains. They can be whatever you imagine. Well they were your ideas after all. Thanks mate. The interior is empty, but I'll probably make one. It's those types of details that I've noticed that others notice at train shows. Peple are always looking insode your buildings. To hold the lance up I just used two parts, although they took me ages to think of as I wanted to maintain the 4-wide stairs as much as possible. I think I achieved it well. The below picture should illustrate the stair design fairly well: Thanks for the kind words TheBrickster.
  24. Bahahaha, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this. It is a really cool concept, and I'm fairly sure it's a first. This has been frontpaged on Classic-Pirates.com. Keep up the good work.
