ww2 medic life, MCW Contest Entry
Captain Zuloo replied to LittleBuilder's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Egggggh! Gruesome! I like it, well done. Looks very real (as far as LEGO goes that is). -
I only have 9v, but I do have different colours in it. Not because I choose it to be the case, but it's near impossible to get 9v track for a reasonable price now-days, so I jump at any opportunity to get a good 9v deal regardless of the colour. Although I did just win an auction for old grey 50 straights and 4 points (2 left, 2 right). My dark bley straights are usually in the shunting yard or under rolling stock so as not to be seen. Tops topic too TheBrickster, well dont thinking of it - it's an interesting read!

The biggest Prize Pool in AFOL fansite history?

Rome wasn't built in a day good sir, likewise great contests take time to prepare. But rest assured, we are working to full capacity. -
St. Elizabeth Parish Church - Port of Brick Royal
Captain Zuloo replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
Excellent effort Mister Hornbricker! The coulour scheme is my favourite part. Did you buy specific parts for this MOC, or did you use parts already in your collection? This MOC has been frontpaged on Classic-Pirates.com. -
Yargh, welcome matey! You have city, so I suppose you aren't a complete loss yet, but we'll get you hooked on Pirates in no time! Be sure to keep an eye on the horizon of Classic-Pirates.com from time to time. Welcome to Eurobricks!

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11
Captain Zuloo replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Let's explore the building first. Does the track run inside the building making it possible for this old logging train to be inside? -

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11

Holy johnson rod! What was that? Are you guys hurt? Here... *takes specially placed bandages fron pocket and wraps them around the wounds* How about whoever is leading this time carries a long stick on front of them? -
Fantastic ship there! Often cruise ships are seen, but never any this big and detailed. All the smaller ones kinda suck too. But fantastic effort with yours, I like the coulours and the proportions. Welcome to Eurobricks.

Fantastic work maydayartist! Your efforts are outstanding. I'm a big fan of the tudor building and the Captain's House. This has been frontpaged on Classic-Pirates.com. Well done.

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11

I would like to use my train engineering skills to think about how the switch is built and check each part of the device to see what could be topping it from moving. -
Hello Master of Puppets/Creeping Death! Metallica is a great band indeed. Welcome to Eurobricks!

Mrs Iz, surely you would have learnt by now that we only put the best of the best on the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage.

I have half the tables built for my LEGO train layout 'Blocksford' and I have my straight track laid out on them. There is space for two more straights which I don't have (yet) so I wanted to build something to fill in the space. So I came up with the idea of a signal box. I wanted to make it with a colour that I have lots of (to avoid ordering parts) but not a primary LEGO colour like red or blue that would just look stupid. So I ended up going with white. I wanted it to look as though it was made from painted brick, and I figured the best way to build a brick wall is with bricks right? So it's built in a way that it resembles how bricks are laid. I spoke to CGH and he said it needed something more to spice it up a little - maybe some railing for the stairs so you wouldn't be in danger when coming home when drunk. So that's where the railing on the stairs and the lamp came in. I think it looks a heap better with them. So I present to you, my Blocksford Classic Town style signal box! A nice angle shot showing all of the signal box Much the same but from a different angle and the operator coming outside Again another shot from an angle Marvel at the complexity of the back. You can see the brick pattern fairly well just below the roof here And a final shot of a minifig walking up the steps. I hope you guys like it, CC welcome. Cheers, Zuloo

Oh, sorry. I thought it was rock...ah, so that's why it was all squishy and moving! *doesn't remove hand* -
Yargh, a Pirates fan! I'm sure being a pirate yerself you're well aware of the Classic-Pirates.com blog? Enjoy your stay matey, and shoot a PM my way if ye get stuck.

That's great TheBrickster! It sure beats the crap out of MOT! Although you were trying to replicate the original set, I think it's good that you had to work around some part restrictions because it made you think harder. And now, it looks far better than the original. KEep up the fantastic work mate.

The Emerald Night was probably designed not to have a platform, hence the ladder up to the door. Although I think the cars on the Emerald Night were based off of the pullmans which didn't have ladders. So I've removed them off of mine. Removing the ladders and moving the bogies back a little also makes the car look longer. But I think the best solution to make it look better at the platfors would be to widen the cars - a very good idea, but one I won't be trying until I have at least 3 cars and money to burn on BrickLink. But good luck Teddy!

I would suggest using some buffers. Without them, the track just kind of stops, with them, I think it adds some realism. It's rare that you'll find train tracks without buffers on busy lines. Below are some photos (although not very good ones) of what I've done for buffers:

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11

I say we call it quits for today and go back to the Emerald. Townies can have dinner with us OUTSIDE the train and we'll provide sleeping bags and matresses for you to sleep under it if you wish. Then tomorrow we can come back to this here tunnel with torches and the handcart. Did we ever solve where the knives from the kitchen went? -

I second that. We won't get anywhere by being scared of the place. So let's head to the Southwest, we've seen all we could here.
