  1. I really like this streetscene, the atmosphere of this city, so typical and with this architectural style we can find on the south of Europe :)
  2. In fact, I noticed this today and read his interesting review. I also spent some hours reading a lot on this website. The interesting part is the construction techniques of this Executor that we can see. But photos do not show some angles of view that are important, unfortunately.
  3. Oh, okay, I had never noticed the "All items" option on the left column of the stores. It is convenient as it shows the items that do not reach minimal desired quantity in red numbers. Thanks for this information
  4. Which option is it ? After putting in cart the parts in minimum desired quantity, I only get to solution to use my second Wanted list without quantities in the shop, to find the parts that didn't reach the min. quantity requirement.
  5. Thanks for the explanation about the stairs, I see you used a lot of Snot techniques on your buildings
  6. I'll wait for the complete reviews before deciding what to do. But I never MOC, so, not sure it could be a solution for me.
  7. This set is designed for AFOLs, so if it doesn't pleases to AFOLs, there will be a problem somewhere. As Anio said, Lego is quite often doing great job on their set design. But here it is not the case as a notable number of possible buyers are sceptic about this Super Star Destroyer. The Lego group knows that the SSD is a set everyone wants to be created. The question is not "Will they cancel the SSD or not ?", because it would be completely stupid and will never happen. The only question is "Will the Lego Group rework this set or not ?". I hope they would, but we don't know if this advice will be listened. About the Lego Group always doing good job because it IS the Lego Group, I hope you realize the curious thing you say. The Lego Group is doing good things, and more questionable ones too, such like this : To meditate...
  8. I live in the south of the France and you can find scorpions here too. They're not really big, something like 5cm. Each summer, there's also a curious locust invasion. It's a plague as they come by millions in the city, and, yes, they jump on you and entangle in your hairs Fortunately they only stay a day or two before leaving ! About the scorpions, I already had some in my apartment two times, and striking them with a broom is useless as they are extremely resistant. Personnally, I demolish them with a big hammer. You can also use a vacuum cleaner, or eventually call the firemen (if they come... and here, it's not the case for little scorpions. Snakes is the minimum.)
  9. I really hope they would rework it. Such a set must be legendary and perfect. Star Wars fans like me are waiting a good job about this massive ship. It's the Super Star Destroyer guys ! Not a basic Star Wars ship.
  10. Thanks ! I had a look at it and it's a really nice van
  11. I love your Ice Cream van, is it a personnal creation ?
  12. I would love to have the instructions to build the two buildings you made They're just perfect !
  13. The Super Star Destroyer effectively disappeared from the Shop at Home. I remember it was there last month. I Lego rework this set ?
  14. It's a rather radical solution
  15. I finally finished ordering all the parts. Total cost is 627€, shippings included. Cheaper than the usual 800€ we usually get for this set. I also ordered all the 10182 Cafe Corner parts for 235€, instead of 500€ for the used set... Will soon be building the 10190 Market Street so You shouldn't, because it will work fine at the beginning of your orders, but by checking this, Bricklink will not show you the parts that are not in the minimum desired quantity. And there's a lot at the end of the orders, as sometimes no shop offers a specific part in the quantity you want. You will have to order those parts from diffrent shops, of course, but if you checked this box, you can't uncheck it later... You will have to create a new list without that box checked. The other problem is that if a shop get a part but not in your minimum desired quantity, these parts will not be displayed to you. You will so have to multiply the orders... and the final cost. You should also make two lists of parts, one for the parts you get showing which ones are physically missing, and the second one for the parts you still need to order. If you don't do that you will have to wait for each parcel to arrive and be verified before lauching the following order, and it will take months.
  16. I'm reading The End Of Eternity from Isaac Asimov, when I'm at home, Musashi Miyamoto from Eiji Yoshikawa, when I'm at work and Nobody's Boy from Hector mallot, when at bed Will soon be reading the last and sixth tome of Earth's Children, from Jean Auel, a monumental story (something like six thousand pages) about a woman living in Europe during the paleolithic era. I've recently finished reading The Chronoliths, from Robert Charles Winston, Waiting for Godot, a play from Samuel Beckett, and The Man In The High Castle, from Philip K. Dick, one of my favorite books. I rarely make mistakes when I choose the books I'll read
  17. I really like the MOC you've done, simple but realistic
  18. Notice that those 2 Light Bluish Gray Riggings are not available on Pick a Brick and on Lego Support too. So, only BL get them, and the price is expensive. Fortunately I had a dog that was doing nothing but sleeping all day, so I sold it to the local chinese restaurant and bought the missing Falcon parts.
  19. I am currently reconstructing this set using BL because the price of an original box is way too high. Here in Europe it's between 1000€ and 1200€ This set has 5200 parts and I found a thousand of them in my own Lego stock. In fact, few parts are costing a lot, and you can ask Lego Customer Service to send you a lot of them for a reasonable price. In fact, on a french forum like this one, we are doing a contest called "Crafting its 10179 Millenium Falcon for the poor" The winner is the person that builds this set for the lowest price, taxes and shipping included. Some made a 600€ one, but I think I will do better (I'm currently at 250€ for half the parts, hope I could finish it for 500€). But it's also a way to laugh at indecent seller's faces.
  20. Entrance just looks great, I would love a set like this
  21. I was totally hiding my passion for Lego, until I recently decided to stop putting my minifigs and sets in my bedroom each time someone came to my apartment. Now I display my sets everywhere and, so, people just realize by themselves. So, my friends and family know, but not my job's colleagues, as there's not a really good ambiance in the enterprise I work in. It doesn't helps talking about passions. In fact, you can only talk motorbikes, motorbikes and ? Oh, well, motorbikes. Only one of my colleagues has serious clues about my hobby, and it's kind of voluntary. It's a cool guy, totally obsessed by Linux ( He sticks Tux posters everywhere at work and even have a Tux plush on his desk ) But I also know another colleague hides his passion for guns. I don't know why, maybe he gets his reasons. I'm sure a lot of people where I work get secret passions they would never talk about. I think it's their secret garden and I respect everything a man or a woman can love to do as a hobby. I would love to meet another AFOL in fact, because I only know through internet for the time being. But the creations I see here are just amazing
  22. I think the minifigs population is increasing at a faster rate than human does, so minifigs will soon be more than us. For the moment, they look indifferent to us, wisely staying on their boxes on shops, getting displayed at homes, and hiding themselves under a sofa or an unsuspected corner of the house. But soon... Soon they will understand the number they are and there will be an ocean of minifigs submerging human cities, taking miles of territories to them. Their first target will be the Lego production sites on Denmark. Once it will be done, they will produce there far more minifigs than anyone can imagine. Then they will invade the rest of the world. Our only chance to survive will be escaping to Mars or somewhere minifigs can't go... for the moment. Nobody really wonders where all the existing minifigs actually are. It is a question to ask. If all the Lego fans own something like 100 millions of them, where are the 4 billions missing ? In the nature ? Some are in children's hands, of course. But are they all ? I believe it is not the case. I think they simply disappear from our sight and form a vast army somewhere where there are no humans : in the deserts of ice (minifigs fear heat). The only possible conclusion is that minifigs are regrouping in Antarctic continent, preparing their surprise attack. From there, by sea (they float), minifigs will be able to reach any strategic location without being detected by our military forces. It is what they will do when they will decide to, maybe tomorrow morning. You will swith on the TV and hear "It's incredible ! A massive apparition of plastic men has invaded severals cities all over the world ! They get angry faces and actually walk all over the San Francisco Golden gate in direction of the city ! Most of the citizen ran away to the mountains while patriots are ready to fight using flamethrowers, the only thing that seems to slow down the plastic men progression ! Oh ! I'm told that the same thing is happening in Houston, Miami, San Diego and Seattle ! The president will talk in ten minutes about this incredible situation ! Oh ! Another strange new ! A Megablocks factory located in Canada is currently in flames !"
  23. I'm 28 and returned from the dark ages at 26, and I'm buying sets in order to build them and keep them displayed. Not MOCing for the time being, and rarely playing with the sets, what I really appreciate is buying and building all the sets I like. And I like a lot of them, so it costs a lot of course, but having a well-paid job, why should I refuse to do it ? The only thing I could say you is that if you like building Lego, there's no problem with this. It is a passion like any other. I simply consider myself as a set collector. Of course, it is not really a common passion for adults, but if you like it, just do it. There's nothing bad, nothing illegal or dangerous. When I'm looking at my work colleagues' passion, such like motorbikes, cars, rugby, guns or video games, I see no difference beetween me and them. You could resume everything in your life with a few words : Will you do what you really like to do, or only what people want you to do ?
  24. This is a superb creation, the hotel as far as the black car on a sixties style. Good work !
  25. I pronounce it like "Ah Fol" but "Ay Fol" could be better. The problem is that in french, Fol means crazy, and "La folle" refers to gays About MOC, I pronounce it like mock, in one word, but in french it also means "to mock", and also something else I can't really talk on a public forum
