  1. I really like the dark red wooden floor. Nice piano and bookcase too ! Nice job
  2. I'm reading Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, and Miyamoto Musashi, by Yoshikawa Eiji, an extraordinary novel that takes places in medieval Japan. It's a very big book (1500 pages) and I've only read 900, but it's a really interesting story.
  3. I have 890 minifigs, according to Brickset Nine times more than what I had when I was a child
  4. And this is my bidet :
  5. Oh, sorry, I though this topic was speaking of l'Aveyron Nice car yet, hard to reproduce in a minig-scale in my opinion
  6. Woaw ! This is excellent ! The complete boat will certainly be amazing, like the front part is The shape, colors and details are all well-done.
  7. Shutting down websites for economic interests is a means from the governments to take control of the Internet. Every tracking of citizens for downloading files results in lower liberty as there are many ways to abuse from this system. In France the government created a system that allow private societies to track your connection and report it to a government commission, who automatically send you warnings of legal problems, then being fined, and finallly a cut of your internet connexion. You can also be sent to jail if necessary. The private societies that track your connexion override the civic laws, because they look what you do on the internet and can keep every data transfered. Once you're accused, you get no way to defend yourself. The IP address is used as a proof, and that's all. No need for them to prove with files on your computer or something else. They just say "you've downloaded" and it's as if the Law itself had spoken. The owners of these private societies are friends of the french political leaders that get the power. They know each one another like you and your brother. So everything here becomes more and more corrupted, in every domain, such like the question of nuclear energy that is totally hidden in the media under a wave of stupid subjects like the snow falling from the skies or the last fashion tendency of wearing a moustache. The energy lobby are behind this media orientation. It is the same thing about the downloading question : the copyright owners lobby acts for more power against the consumer, to leave you no choice than what they want you to do. I have to connect to international channels like NHK, Euronews, Al-Jazeera or American ones to get informations about what really happens. The french government massively applaused to MegaUpload shutdown, excepted the extremist ones. Nothing now can prevent other websites to be suddently shutted down for any reason. Politics now get the power to do that, and will do that without a need of proving anything. They will just say "they are pirates" or "they are planning terrorism" or any free accusation, and act. And that's why liberty is actually dying under a tsunami of misinformation. It reminds me the Matrix pills : the blue cool one or the red true one ? Want to be happy, or want to be free ?
  8. This set is a monumental success in design, playability, interiors and price. I just wait for the interior details and the reviews now ! Excellent work here Lego
  9. I buy some sets for selling them later with profit. Among the rules I've chosen to apply, I will never sell the set 25% above its Shop@home retail price. This permits to someone that starts collecting them to find them for a reasonable price. And this first rule implies a second one ; only sell them to well-known AFOLs. So, I try to find sets on sales, but I only buy the ones that interest myself too, so I buy two of them finally. But most of the sets I buy are for me only, though. I buy for myself before buying for selling later. It is not a priority, and I will never sell a set from my personnal collection.
  10. No, they just say in the mail that part XYZ and YXZ are not available, that's all. And just after that they announce the price you will have to pay in 30 days with an order reference, so you just have to call them, give them your order number, bank information and your address, and they sent the order to you. Really easy.
  11. I know. It took me hours, but I made it, as I had no choice. Lego should just let us enter a desired number of items. And you can't save your parts dhopping cart for later, of course : you have to do it in one session, and pray a lot that you computer doesn't bugs At least this order was confirmed excepted for the radar and the light bluish gray masts.
  12. I estimate I've spent 500€ per month, so 6000€, or 8000$ if you prefer. Brickset estimates my collection to 12000$, 120.000 parts and 811 minifigures. But I've not already counted all of them.
  13. I had no problem at all with asking something like 400 replacement parts for this set through the web interface of Shop@home. It was quite long, yet.
  14. I saw "Mr Popper's Penguins" yesterday, a comedy with Jim Carrey. Not the best Jim Carrey's movie I saw, but a good movie yet. I made me think about Happy Feet in fact I particularly appreciated the New York winter background - and even better in high-definition.
  15. I actually read "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens and "The Odyssey" by Homer. I started to read "The Mirror of Cassandra", written by my favorite french writer, Bernard Werber, but this book is just an absolutely unpleasant experience, just like "Requiem For A Dream" was as a movie. Werber was a good writer, in the beginning of its career ; but now he has lost a lot of its talent to write cool imaginative stories, like Stephen King did, in fact. Maybe Salinger was right to write a masterpiece of art and nothing else for the rest of its life.
  16. I was surprised by this choice too, when I received the e-mail unveiling this minifigures come-back. I understand for the elf and I agree for the spaceman, but who could have voted for the gorilla, the mummy or the fisherman ? Just re-edit the spartan or any ancient figure and you will make a lot of happy AFOLs
  17. Today I ordered : Dino 2012 : 5885 Triceratops Trapper (I love the design of this vehicle - and the triceratops of course !) Friends : 3183 Stephanie’s Cool Convertible (This car is really fashion ) City 2012 : 4438 Robbers' Hideout (The bear ! The hideout ! The robbers' car ! ) 4437 Police Pursuit ( The dark red four-wheel drive vehicle is really cool ) 4435 Car and Camper (I never had a trailer in my city ! ) 4434 Dump Truck ( The red wheelbarrow is a must-have, and the truck is well designed in orange) 4433 Dirt Bike Transporter ( 2 bikes and an excellent SUV ! Perfect set ! ) 4431 Ambulance ( I like the ambulance, of course, but also the green bicycle, the street furniture and the 3 minifigs included !) 4208 Fire Truck (I appreciate the fact that the truck is also a little command center with space in it, and including a burning tree ) I had a 10% discount from my usual Lego retailer. I initially wanted to get some of the Star Wars 2012 sets but they are too expensive for the moment. Will see later for them.
  18. You must understand that the second promotional set had so much success that it was quickly unavailable. I specially ordered for this set too, and received it. But you need to also have a kind of luck about this, because these promotionnal sets are offered in a short period of time and can be forgotten in the parcel. Though, I think you should have some other offered set in exchange, but if you especially wanted this one, you'll need to buy it to a Bricklink seller.
  19. I really like this colorfull car that will fit well in any classic City.
  20. I don't really know the interest of such a set. It's quite expensive too. Even on sales, I think I'll ignore it.
  21. This set is convincing, the spaceship is nice despite its stickers, the figs are wisely done too. I also appreciate the two platforms and the trans-clear parts. Good job here !
  22. I really can't buy this set that is too expensive. The cannon is like nothing on earth. I would have expected it could rotate. The geonosians are cool though, but not enough to justify the price.
  23. A great representation of the legendary Demag machine, notably used in diamond mines such like the Ekati Diamond Mine in the North of Canada, close to the Artic Circle. This machine resists well at extremely cold temperatures. You have an excellent video documentary about this Demag machine in MegaStructures Season 2, "Diamond Diggers" (known in french as Les Constructeurs de l'Extrême, S2, Forages Extrêmes, on Direct8 channel) Excellent job Emilus
  24. It's really a nice tower, the facades are finely wrought and the interiors are detailed too. The general aspect is tall and massive, resulting in a rather uncommon architecture Good job !
  25. I bought two of them : one for me, and one that I will sell later. This set is really the ultimate playset I've ever built.
