  1. This looks sensational cja! I had a similar experience a few years ago when my first son was born and I dug up my old collection and had to sift and try and remember all the old sets I used to own, then rebuild from the pile, making note of all missing pieces. Very fun detective work. But Lego has changed and it is incredibly impressive to see that with your first MOC you've been able to capture the modern design sensibilities and quality. I definitely hope you have more ideas for modulars that you can share with us. I love getting inspired! I especially like your use of dark blue and the greenhouse. Awesome :) keep up the good work!
  2. Personally, the thing that makes me think this list is true is that it doesn't sound like a wishlist. The first wave was all about dwarves, we don't need to see more than main man Thorin or Thrain this wave, and it looks like we'll get both. I tend to find the argument that the death of Smaug in DOS could potentially lead to an anticlimactic TABA to be believable. Therefore, I am not surprised that we may not get Smaug till next year, when he'll be just as much of a cash cow. It seems instead that this may be more of an elf wave (army? Galadriel? even another Elrond?) which would make sense if Lego is trying to focus on new ground rather than just re-release figs we mostly have. I wouldn't be worried about the supposed lack of focus on Bilbo and the dwarves - I would be celebrating the fact that they are covering as many characters as they can in the few Hobbit waves we will likely get! I have no doubt there'll be another exclusive which may produce Beorn, or even Thranduil if it is an "elf wave"? I would expect Smaug in December 2014.
  3. Such gorgeous buildings Kristel. When I catch up with the official Modulars I will definitely be coveting some of your work... although I am concerned yours will make some of the others seem slightly dull ;)
  4. Is anyone else looking forward to swashbuckling Han/Chewie/Lando back stories? I'd love to see the scene recreated where Han wins the Falcon "fair and square" - something tells me that phrase and pre-ANH Han don't quite jive ;)
  5. Big W Pakenham has the smaller MOS sets and the Iron Man 3 sets (Mansion $58; Sea Port $38) - looking forward to checking for some S10 in the city tomorrow...
  6. Life of George at Target in Knox today :)
  7. Pakenham Big W has both Pharoah's Quest 7326 ($75) and Dino 5886 ($60) on clearance. A few copies of each, so if you feel like a somewhat boring drive down the Monash, come for a visit ;)
  8. Don't worry Masked Builder - easy mistake to make given the glimpses we've seen of Faora...
  9. I couple of years ago I bought a custom TCW Padme from Christo and have thought ever since that I would love to see Lego outdo it. For those who appreciate TCW faces, I felt it was a gorgeous rendition. I was thinking that I might have to get the Malevolence in its entirety for that fig alone. Looking at these close ups of the Lego TCW Padme though... all I can say is, I'm glad there are those on ebay and Bricklink who will sell me the pieces for the long awaited ship without figs, because Christo's fig is far superior, and the rest of hose figs we more or less have. Disappointed Lego's efforts fell so far short, but glad someone is out there making figs that do the source material justice.
  10. More exciting news from Pakenham! I can't quite believe I just wrote that... Apparently the new Star Wars planet sets are already ON SALE! Were $14.64, now $13.42! So if anyone in Melbourne feels like a drive down the Monash... oh who am I kidding, you'd probably spend more on gas getting out here than the saving. Although I am still unsure about how these sets are here and not reportedly anywhere else yet? Big W Pakenham is barely 2 months old though... perhaps this is a rookie error by the toy department manager that they are out so soon?? I thought I'd attach some pictures, although I am completely unsure if I am attaching them right might be making my own rookie error
  11. 2012 Star Wars have arrived in Melbourne! Pakenham Big W to be precise. Geonisian Cannon, Droid Escape, both battle packs and the planet sets all plentiful. Approximately $38, $18 and $14 respectively. Don't mind me while I go admire the new Geonisians ;)
  12. Hey everyone, I love the work you all do in keeping us up to date on goings on. Just thought I'd make a contribution in saying Big W Doncaster in Melbourne had the new City sets today, and some S6... Not much left though. Glad to hear Lightning is dancing ;)
