Not sure yet, I'll get back to you. Just to say, there will now be an unconfirmed number of original black shako's and backpacks. PM me for more details and I'll get back asap. And Holodoc, can you pick me up a promotional 7696 plane please? I assume I missed the Imperial Flagship. -Sir Norman "And I had my Brickarm'd redcoat marines all ready for it..." Ray.

Well, I am excited! I attempted to book on Thursday, prefering to ring up. Sadly, all I got was queuing music, and after about 10 minutes, gave up. Since Holo has asked me if I'd be willing to share, I'm waiting for a response from him or the other two if they would prefer I did that. I really can't wait though :) I know a good chunk of the route anyway (driven to Heathrow before for BrickCon in October) and just need to mooch a satnav/memorise directions for the rest of the way! I haven't been to LEGOland since, hmm, shortly after it opened! I'm only sad that now, when I finally return, I can't get a driving licence. Just have to stick to my real one :( -Sir Norman "Yes, I am drunk. Why do you ask?" Ray.

NEW! Who will come to the Event
Sir Norman Ray replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I did ask for a single room, because to be honest, I'm very used to doing things on my own. I'm also going to admit, I'm a little anti-social and as such have problems sharing things like bedrooms. But if push comes to shove, if they need it, I'll get a double room. I'll just have to bitem the bullet and pick up a large bottle of Jamesons Whisky. -Sir Norman "Nervous man" Ray. -

Well, providing I can get my car tooled out to have a sat nav system (bloody Fiat. Yeah, because there's no reason to have a cigerette lighter socket in a car anymore...) I could do that. Only problem is, it may be a little cramped. I drive a 2009 Fiat Panda, so not a lot of space for luggage and the like. -Sir Norman "Get on the roof and hold on tight!" Ray. -
If no other British members who are going says so, I'll do the dirty deed if needed. Least I could do. -Sir Norman "With a small, 5% transaction fee of course..." Ray.
-
Actually, have to agree to that! I could either get a cheap flight or do a road trip from the Eurostar! And visit mainland Europe for the first time in a decade. -Sir Norman "Wait, me in Europe?" Ray.

I have to say guys, I like this hotel :) In fact, I just got a reconmendation of it! My sister had a work conference there when it handled civil service venues. She loved it, and is amazed this is the one we should be going for! Also, I;d like to say I'm sorry for not being much help. I was looking around at hotels, I will admit, but sadly, I live too far away from London to know enough about it. I was looking into the main chains you see on TV here in the UK. -Sir Norman Ray.

I want his lunch breaks. Trust me, in my job, a day long lunch is needed... Anyway, if needed, I don't mind paying up front. Or going for my own hotel. -Sir Norman "Loves the travellodge adverts" Ray.

I had a feeling you might have responded :) As I said, not much details, as I havent had a chance to sort through my drawers they are packed into. Most likely they will have red epaulets, if any. Backpacks unlikely, muskets for certain and I have to say, probably no headgear, if they do, they'll be tricorne. -Sir Norman "Too ill, too tired and too lacking in whisky to check right now..." Ray. DER EDIT: At this time, I have amassed 90 odd minifigures with red epaulets with tricorne hats, head's and hands. Yes, those two last parts are important. A LOT of blue coats were savagely beheaded and dehanded to replace the fleshie parts of Colonel Drinkski Lotski Vodkaski to make my WW2 Platoon of British soldiers. As such, I have a LOT of bluecoats with no heads or hands. I have no idea on muskets at this time, still going through my desk. -Sir Norman "My fingers are all dusty..." Ray.
-
Well, I've decided to throw my weight in. Anybody need any Imperial Guard (Blue Coat) minifigures? Please note, this is just me asking for the moment. I have no idea on my numbers right now, And no. They do not have Shako's. I am keeping all 300 of them. Also, I MAY be interested in yonder Imperial Flagship. Let me get some voertime in... -Sir Norman "Sat on a throne of Shako's" Ray.

At BrickCon, I came up with a very good schedule. "To the pub!" It was the battle cry of the Bricklord area. -Sir Norman "But not at 6am..." Ray. -

Can I throw peanuts during the presentation? Or can I drink during it? I happen to have an Irish Whisky and Guinness habit at the moment. Seriously, I am interested in the background workings. -Sir Norman "Then, I know how to destroy it..." Ray. -

And now you know why I asked for a single room! It's not just because I'm anti-social! -Sir Norman "I don't snore anyway. I don't hear it." Ray. -

Sure, why not. Easier to get to then Seattle, with any luck! I'll be on my own, unless you include the pocket load of LEGO I have on me at all times in case I get bored, and King Fu, my Fiat Panda. Goodbye, whilst I don't think I knew you, I hope and pray that you are in paradise now. -Sir Norman Ray.

Who will come to Eurobricks Event 2011?
Sir Norman Ray replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Yeah, I might give it a bash, meet some more British fans. Going out to BrickCon is all fun, but American accents get on me nerves after a while :P Plus, it's a simple drive from Essex, and I haven't been to LEGOLAND Windsor since... erm, when did it open? A few months after that :P I swear, I'll get my LEGO driving license! And have it sit next to my real one! -Sir Norman "Plus I'm sure it'll be cheaper!" Ray. -
It's never too late in my opinion. There will always be somebody finding a lost collection and shoving it up on eBay. Plus there's always the chance an AFOL may decide to give it all up. I for one, in the current economic climate, look at my drawer of South Essex, over 200 of them, and thinking of selling them on Bricklink to get some extra money... Then I go back to doing overtime as they'll grasp those shako's off of me if I really hid skidrow. -Sir Norman "So hands off." Ray.
-
I'm slowly getting into town, but mainly the CafeCorner series. This is because I love the detail and the possibilites that I can use it for. I also love that particular line for it's older feel. This is odd for me, as I spent my youth and my initial coming back to LEGO dedicated to Pirates :P -Sir Norman "And I like the 1930's era" Ray.
-
It's not just the pirates. This link here, outs you to a few of my pictures of Major Norman Ray. If you look closely, the gold buckly and stars on the Soviet Colonel uniform have faded. Now the figure is probably a year old by my books, I'm not too sure when I it. Now I do admit I do handle my figures a bit much, combined with going to Seattle in October, but the paint just isn't lasting! -Sir Norman "But I'm not moaning that much. THos Soviet symbols annoyed me." Ray.
-
Awesome! That means my British officers can finally stop looking like they are either Commando's or on parade! -Sir Norman "Except Major Ray of course. He's got his Golden Brodie now!" Ray.

10210 Imperial Flagship - UPCOMING SET!!!
Sir Norman Ray replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hey no worries! I watch Spitting Image DVD's most of the time. A show famous for taking the mickey out of my poloitical party, the Conservatives, for 12 years. My personal opinion is that if something is truely important, it needs to be parodied. Politics, entertainment, national identity etc. It's all good in my opinion :) -Sir Norman "Rule Britannia! Britain doesn't rule that much! Come on, lets us face it! We're 10th rate!" Ray.
