[TC18] 9398 Baby Car
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm glad you like it! I think short gifs can tell more than words ;) Thanks! I tried to match it as close as I can. Also unfortunately my 9398 is dissasembled and I can't take picture of these two together... Thanks! All wheel steering is possible but not really important for me, my kid love when this pistons move and making noise. I'm not a big fan too but it will stay. I can do LDD if you like to try, my wife already said that I did two cars instead of one yeah, also mine 9398 was one of first sets after dark ages update time! I have reworked front, roof, back and couple other stuff. Body is hold by 2 pins and it's braced enough to survive 3,5yo kid so mission passed. Seats are ready to put minifigs. Yes, 3x3 L liftarms on the seats will be red in the nearest future. Yes, gap in the hood will be filled too. -
Hello, I've almost finished my previous car VW Beetle for the contest but I thought it was too easy so I started building something more challenging. It's inspired by 9398 off roader. It already has 2 live axles front axle with steering (I have to skip double steering to add engine instead) HoG on the roof working V8 engine deatachable body 4x4 drive And yes, it's squeezed in 15L So, I think it would be more interesting build than previous one ;)

Custom third party Universal Joint 3L
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice find of the u-joint! If they will be available I'll buy them asap! If Lego will make the same ones in normal price I'll buy from Lego. But I don't think they will do. -

Stig O'Sore - Carmageddon
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks! I'll check that I'm not sure about this blue hoses, but probably they will stay, I just found it in a box with blue stuff and I have never used them before :) Pneumatic tubes are too fat unfortunately and it look too bulky (already tried) Yeah, front is still in progress and all stuff there is just a sketch and rather guide. Finally there will be DBG #1 connectors but first I have to find them. (btw. This one on pic is "Dark Brown") All in all I have to remove panels from front hood because they cause lot of problems like even width. Probably I'll use more #21 and #22 tiny panels to shape hood. -
Stig O'Sore - Carmageddon
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah, I'll probably go with clean design. Stig was just an inspiration to build something similar but not exact copy. update time! a bit of space for spare wheel, front need now more attention. I'm not sure if "seat panels" will stay here. -

Stig O'Sore - Carmageddon
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks! Thanks! Actually I have lot of DBG so I have to recycle it somewhere :D Rear for sure, on pictures was an initial sketch of basic chassis. update time: steering done, antenna as HoG 3 cylinder engine done - powered by rear axle differential (by rubber band) It's a bit messy now but it will be fixed later. It's still a sketch. -

Hahaha, yeah! But it's never too late to build another car :) Really I don't like ordinary casual cars, super cars, boring cars and other similar stuff where Lego technic is going latest years. I'm in scifi and fantasy stuff mostly -
Generic Contest Discussion
Ctan replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have remember.... and studs everywhere. I'm in! :) -
Hi, after building previous crawler for TC17 I left with lot of unused parts... So, I decieded to use them in other creation. A lot of weight and size compromises have been made. For example 3 buggy motors instead of 4. I have started sketching the bodywork. engine is now without shaft but there will be one and also chain linked to the middle 5292 buggy motor Tracks goes very smooth, even front tracks are working properly and doesn't disconnect from differential. Hooray. Front suspension is a bit wobbly but when driving it's not visible. @Zerobricks you have a lot of experience with buggy motors and BuWizz and maybe I do something wrong. I have connected 2 back motors to one buwizz, 1 middle motor and servo to second BuWizz. I can drive only on slow or normal mode without overloading it. On fast it almost instantly stop and disconnect. Is this normal behavior? Thanks in advance for any help

Duplo Technic Trains
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Update: maximum crane load is 0,486 kg (with more load outriggers start breaking) After some test with junctions and bridges.. Well.. it sometime work and sometime don't so best option is to put these guys on simple closed loop. Thanks guys! :) I have now a bit of free time and I'm thinking to build Leopold or Dora because it shouldn't be too complicated to build. Just imagine 2 pararell Duplo tracks for Dora I have an .io file for the train so if you like to have it just let me know. -

[TC17] Rebel Tow Truck
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks! :) Thanks! Well, what I can say, some of people would say it look like 41999, like 42069, like latest madoca crawler, like 9398, like muslcle cars. Yes, all of them are right. But also you can say that 41999 was inspired by real cars, madoca crawler was inspired by real car, 42069 was inspired by real cars. Well, all Mad Max cars was based on real cars. All in all my build is also inspired by real cars which I like. -

Duplo Technic Trains
Ctan replied to Ctan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I took some better pictures of the crane, it survived my son, so I think it's well braced. It has a few weak spots like cart couplers but for now I have no better idea for them. full-res images: https://bricksafe.com/pages/Ctan/duplo-technic-train-crane -
