  1. TLG's help desk said the BIONICLE reboot was doing fine just five months before it's cancelation. They're not always 100% true to their word XD
  2. Where werewolves covered in the original Fantastic Beasts book? If they were you might be on to something...
  3. That sounds epic! Presumably the gear function seen at Toy Fair is to flip the tables from the dueling club, but Snape and Lockheart aren't in this set. If they come with the D2C Hogwarts it would make sense for them to have "upgrades" to create their scenes in the previous set. I don't want to get my hopes up, but that would be genius!
  4. Agreed. The Toy Fair one feels a lot more prototypical and awkward.
  5. That's actually kind of adorable. If my memory serves correctly, Newt's actual in universe + "real life" book on Fantastic Beasts contains the Baskilisk and Phoenix. They would be a fun way to make his suitcase more "complete" by having all of his studies. Whomever suggested the reverseble banners having Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw was right! That's a nice touch, and I can imagine kids turning it into a play feature similar to 4701.
  6. Oh yeah it can close, I thought that corner piece with the trashcan was locking it open.
  7. I'd just like to point out the press release said: "Build even bigger adventures and combine with 75953 Whomping Willow." Keyword being "combine." The sets may not connect directly, they may just have some sort of compatible function. Or maybe it's literally just saying to buy 'em both and play with them together. Though them connecting seems like the most likely meaning, it's not the only one.
  8. Assuming you're talking about the Sanctum Sanctorum that's also just two walls, it's got no roof or back. Really hoping McGonagall has two heads. I got one of those World Racer sets when I was a kid and the fact you could see everyone's mouths through the back of their helmets annoyed me to no end.
  9. Yeah, the original run had so much more variety and "world-building" sets than the 2010 one. You really got to build the Wizarding World from the ground up. Glad to see them go back to that!
  10. I agree, I'd also like some of LEGO's original characters like Johnny Thunder, the Classic Spacemen, and the Toa Mata. But this is a Harry Potter discussion so this probably isn't the place to discuss it XD Have they revealed what the HP Brickheadz are going to be or was it just a general announcement?
  11. I didn't get any Brickheadz last year and the theme hasn't interested me much, but these and the new Star Wars ones are must haves for me!
  12. According the the set information The Brother's Brick got from LEGO, yes that is Susan Bones!
  13. I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet (despite being obvious) but the details on the tower look like stickers. What a shame!
  14. Yes! We finally got pictures! Gotta say I love that the students have short legs. One of my big issues (especially with the 2010 run) was that the students didn't seem to age, but now it looks like they will. And that baskilisk is adorable! The interior is nice and cozy, and I hope the D2C Hogwarts comes with the missing banners. I can't tell for sure but Dumbledore looks a bit wrinkler with smaller eyes, maybe it'll be a Richard Harris one? The print reminds me of his 2001 minifigure much more than the Micheal Gambon one from latter years. Nick's inclusion makes me think the CMF list may have been false, which if is the case makes me sad 'cause I wanted all the ghosts. Oh well...
  15. I do hope we get some polybags, especially when their limited time offers from LEGO.com. It gives me an excuse to make bulk buys! I know these aren't coming out 'till autumn, but I'm already nervously hording my cash for 'em. I hope the post about them being revealed in May is true, cause I want to know what I'm saving up for!
  16. A part of me hopes this newcomer set is for Fantastic Beasts. We need Quennie and Jacob minifigures and it being FB and not HP may save some stress on my wallet (sorry Beasts, but Harry comes first!)
  17. Oh man I didn't vote for Friendly Felix! I loved that guy. If I had my way I'd make them all into minifigs and make a bunch of Battle Packs for the different armor sets for army buiding! Unfortunately that probably won't happen... Also no Naomi? That hologram was adorable!
  18. Was gonna mention those when he asked for set ideas! Things like the Venture Koi and Spider Queen are definitely the most iconic parts of the game. Beyond them, maybe a "Rocket-Builder-Pack." It would come with all the nose-cones, exhausts, and bodies of the in-game rockets and you could swap them around to make your own. Perhaps it could come with the launch pads? The Nexus Tower on Crux Prime would be sweet too (Naomi minifig!) You could do Nimbus Station (the main square) but that might be a tad bland compared to other ideas sets. Perhaps a collection of mini-builds of all the different levels that could be arranged to make a "map" of Crux's ruins, including a build for the Maelstrom. The Venture Explorer, the Paradox research facility in Advent Gardens, the tree-locked Black Seas Barracuda, the many temples of Forbidden Valley, Wenn-Wuzzit's Time Machine, they could all make nice sets, but may be to heavily focused on a specific faction. One big issue with an LU project is the minifigures. You aren't allowed to introduce new molds on Ideas, but almost all the notable characters have at least one custom molded piece. Thanks to things like NEXO Knights giving us an Duke style sword you could make substitutions, but still.
  19. Adorable! My first thoughts on getting the anniversary set was how cool it would be to make a whole micro Space collection.
  20. All of them are pretty epic, but I've always held Insectoids and Space Police III above the rest. The aliens of Life on Mars where fantastic too, a shame they go for so much secondhand!
  21. Assuming the series would be CMF style I'd want Young Wu Young Garmadon Young Misako Mystake Dr. Julian Lou Cyrus Borg in a wheelchair The Pink Ninja (Zane) The Mechanic (Season 8 full attire) Young Morro Cliff Gordon The Past Elemental Master of Lightning No Eye Pete Police Commissioner Selma General Acturus I'd also love to get Jacob, Camille, Gravis, and Bobolo, but I think they'd be better suited for a Battle Pack like Shade, Ash, and S6 Skylor where. Ed and Edna in their original attire and the Ninja in pre-recruitment or casual clothes would be great, but I think you can Moc Edna with the CMF Series 2 Pilot and the Ninja have so many outfits they'd be better suited to some other special release. On a slightly unrelated note it would be fantastic to get a Giant Stone Warrior in the style of Ant Man in the Super Hero Airport Battle or Ares from the Wonder Woman Warrior Battle. While it might be a tad to big the prisoner version of him from the Kyrptarium was way too small.
  22. Actually Ed and Edna where in the movie. You can see them holding hands as Lloyd jumps across a river and "Hard Knock Life" plays. It's really blink and you miss it, but I know there's a clip on YouTube highlighting the scene.
  23. Very nice! The texturing on the sides is fabulous. I used to love Tiny Turbos, although I didn't get too many of them. I do have a few of the race tracks that could fold up into boxes for storage, such a creative solution to packaging large parts. Something I've always wondered was if the LEGO Dimensions minibuilds are compatible with Tiny Turbos. I'd assume they are but since all my TTs are disassembled I'm not sure.
  24. This is going to be my first post on this site, hopefully it goes up before Toy Fair reveals too much! After reading about all the rumors swirling around about a $500 UCS/D2C Hogwarts Castle I got into a bit of a LEGO Harry Potter mood. After looking through Google Images at fans own takes on a UCS Hogwarts I found an image of someone who combined all the Classic Series (2001-2007) Hogwarts sets together into one massive display! The display was pretty interesting, so I decided to look through all of the sets and compare them to a map of Hogwarts to try and picture how a more movie accurate display of the models would look and I came to an interesting conclusion. Before we begin I should mention this list doesn’t cover any of the sets based on Hogwarts’ surroundings (Hagrid’s Hut, Forbidden Forest, ect.) just the main castle itself. I’m also not covering 4721 or 4722 because they’re... weird…. Prices are in USD Interior sets are, relatively speaking, very spread out. Only two of them explicitly depict the same room (4701 and 4733) with the rest covering distinct parts of the castle. Interior sets have incredibly detailed rooms/furniture, however the walls are bland and full of gaps. 4701: Sorting Hat and 4733: The Dueling Club depict the interior of the great hall. 4706: Forbidden Corridor, 4704: The Room of the Winged Keys, and 4702: The Final Challenge depict the different stages to reach the Philosopher’s Stone. 4729: Dumbledore's Office and 4731: Dobby's Release depict parts of the Staircase Tower (it’s hard to tell weather 4731 is supposed to take place in Dumbledore’s Office or in the hall just outside. 4705: Snape's Class, 4730: The Chamber of Secrets, and 4735: Slytherin depict parts of the dungeon. 4752: Professor Lupin's Classroom takes place off the Central Courtyard 4712: Troll on the Loose, 4751: Harry and the Marauder's Map, and 4753: Sirius Black's Escape take place in undisclosed locations. We know the bathroom is on the first floor near the Great Hall, the statue from 4751 is on a tangent of the third floor corridor which is in turn off of the Staircase Tower, and Black’s escape location could be seen from the movie but I’m too lazy to rewatch those scenes. At original retail price all these sets would cost $304 Exterior sets (as some people call them "dollhouses") on the other hand aren’t quite so clear cut. While they all depict different aspects of the castle exterior, the rooms within have a lot of crossover with each other. If memory serves each one contains a Gryffindor common room or dorm, and one of them has the Slytherin dorm in a tower! However, some simple shuffling of furniture can fix this discrepancy. The walls and roofs of these sets are highly detailed, but the rooms inside are cramped and basic. 4709: Hogwarts Castle depicts the Great Hall, The Main Entrance, and either Gryffindor or Staircase Tower 4757: Hogwarts Castle depicts the Clock Tower, a nearby tower, and the entrance to it’s courtyard 5378: Hogwarts Castle depicts the Owlery, the Greenhouses, and an part of the castle I’m not sure of, but based on its door and the inclusion of the greenhouses must be the Bell Towers At original retail price all these sets would cost $270 For those of you who don’t know, Hogwarts is essentially split into two halves. The lower/front half contains the Clock Tower, the Quad, Gryffindor Tower, Dividation Tower, Staircase Tower, the Great Hall, and the Entrance Courtyard. The upper/back half contains the Middle Courtyard, DAtDA Classroom, Training Grounds, the Bell Towers, the Greenhouses, and the Long Gallery with Central Tower. Here’s a picture: As you may have noticed, the vast majority of sets are based on the lower half of the castle, only 4752 and 5378 explicitly take place in the upper half. That means that even with a full Hogwarts collection you’d be missing half of the castle. For the exterior sets that’s not that big of a problem, one or two more sets would probably fix the issue, but for the interiors that’s a lot of missing content. As mentioned before all the interior sets add up to $304 and all exterior to $270, making the grand total of the 2001-2007 LEGO Harry Potter Castle $574! When adding into consideration how money has inflated and that the interior style sets covered less of the total castle as the exterior sets I think a dollhouse style set would be the most likely for a D2C Hogwarts. Alternatively, several D2C/Flagship Hogwarts sets could be released depicting different sections of the school (a UCS Quad, a UCS Middle Courtyard, a $90-200 Dungeons set, and the rumored $90 Great Hall.) These segments would be modular with each other to create one giant school. While I think that would be the coolest option, I kind of doubt LEGO would do it (but here’s hoping!)
