Photo's of my engine mod below (apologies for the blurred quality, camera phone pics). I managed to add back the original grill pieces to the engine, to maintain some look of the original model. I have added a couple of the camera piece to help stop the LED slipping as a temporary solution, however I plan to do something better in the future (bottom of 3rd photo). Also, the LED light doesn't shine through the middle part where it attaches to the structure, I'm yet to figure out the best way, but it doesn't detract from the viewing experience too much Hope you enjoy

It looks promising. The "LED tray" is an interesting approach and I'll see if I can adapt it if I have any spares. Currently my LED strips fit nicely in-between the hinge plates of Lock's mod, but could do with securing better. I plan to share some photos when complete (only have bag 17 left) but I'll try and post one later to show you what I mean.

I got the rancor 75005 and an extra 1.3kg of black Lego in a second hand bundle from a seller. Just awaiting for it to arrive, hopefully they'll be a few good pieces to use in bigger builds :)

I think it cost me about £30 + p&p for the efferman stand (2 sellers I think) most pieces in black. Much more satisfying building the stand than ordering the clear plastic one. Plus you can reuse the pieces should you ever dismantle the falcon

Lego store in meadowhall Sheffield has some falcons in stock (didn't see a note about double points) but the store assistant said points on all but the new y-wing, and minimum £30 spend for black VIP cards for the poster. I was very disappointed this year as the only set I want is the new cantina and it wasn't on sale. It's also Lego exclusive (since toys r us went under, the only other place I've seen it). Saved me some money I suppose...

I got the tatooine battle pack for the hefty price of 1p from Argos. I had a free £10 voucher to use up and it was reduced to 9.99 so the small print was I still had to pay 1p. I must own about 18 jawa's now

The gun still fits, but does it differently. I've not got the spare pieces yet to incorporate it back in. I believe it attaches to the main frame by technic pins and beams, rather than the original method. Therefore the original drop down gun turret functionality is not lost.

So I've finally made a start building this beast (finished bag 4) and decided to start modding the interior section. This is the front right section and it now incorporates 2 storage sections to fit up to 3 minifigures. It is based on the instructions provided in the Blocks magazine (issues 42 & 43) but I've adapted it to fit around my spare pieces collection. As you can see it is unfinished (and I plan to replace the bigger compartment with a 6x6 plate when I acquire one). The 'storage tank' and handle are there for ease of removing the compartment lids so I'll need to modify it when I incorporate it into my falcon. [Part 1 - no modifications] [Part 2 - floor fully covered] [Part 3 - flooring removed] The second section I'm currently building is @Lock engine mod but with LED lighting (with a couple of very minor adjustments, sneaking in more trans-blue pieces in where I can). As you can see below, I partially built a section to test out how it looks. I think it does the job fairly well. I did test white and light blue colour settings on the LED strip and the difference is negligible. I think white may be slightly better as it appeared brighter (I've only uploaded the light blue photo here). I've since finished building the left/right hand sections with just the middle connecting part to go. I'll probably need to finish bag 5 before incorporating it properly, and finding a way of integrating the light and battery box/USB powered cable (as I can use either). I hope you enjoy the Mods :)

I've finally started building this monster (bag 1 complete...). I've built the efferman stand (in UCS black style) and Lock's front mandibles part and just ordered the parts for the engine mod today. I hope to share pictures once complete and mods installed with the LED lighting for the engine :)

[MOC] Brodo Asogi delegation in the Galactic Senate
azzer86 replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is really good! I've always had a plan to make something like this (but not with ET) but wouldn't know where to begin and this looks far better than I had in mind or could do I might use this as inspiration now. -
A couple of weeks ago I got ahch-to at 15% off. Yesterday I picked up the Vader transformation 75183 at 25% off (and robin & batgirl brickheadz at 75% off - for spare parts or to sell on more than anything)

https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-12980/dunes/vertical-stand-for-millennium-falcon-75105/#info This one is based on the 75192 stand but for 75105. Hope this is what you're after :)

I bought two of them last year and it's a good model. Paid ~£30 for first and ~£25 for the second in a sale. I wasn't too fussed about the baze and trooper minifigs, so sold them for ~£12 so it made the models even cheaper :)

Whats going on with the 75192 Falcon availability??
azzer86 replied to mattaddiction's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For those in the UK you may find this useful? https://www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-lego-millennium-falcon-75192 It aligns with what others here have posted regarding UK availability. I'm fortunate I got a back-order placed on release day. I wonder if they'll learn their lesson for the rumoured UCS cloud city set and the potential popularity that will have. -
This looks pretty sweet. I've just made my bricklink wanted list based on @Lock's engine mod, but may tweak it to incorporate this engine design. Is it essentially Lock's mod but swapping some of the 3023 pieces for the 11476's? Then adding the LBG hoses and 48729 parts? Thanks (I got the part numbers from bricklink - I'm no expert in remembering them haha)
-
@Lock are your mods fairly complete now you have it on display? I've got the pieces for the efferman stand now (all in black bar a 3-4 hard to get pieces (read expensive)) so your engine and front bit between the mandibles parts would be the next natural progression. I'll see what interior space I have left after adding the led lighting strip and battery compartment in the spare room, although I would like to add in the bedroom shown in the Blocks magazine.

Hi all - I've been following this thread for a while and there are some great mods to try. My falcon still in its box while I clear some space (currently housing an almost finished tatooine layout). l already have an LED strip recommended from this thread and plan to implement Lock's engine mod as a minimum. Still yet to decide on the other rooms, but part 1 from the blocks magazine has my attention at the minute. I do have a question though about the efferman stand. How easy is it to build the model (and mod inside it) whilst it's still on the stand? Also, I'm liking the black piece stand interpretation by space_iaco so I'll have to price both options up. Anyway, great work by all the modders in this forum. I'll share mine when it's complete :)

That is pretty awesome! I bet it would look good next to the 'ucs' BB-8 too.

Looks good. I'm currently working on my own cantina which uses nearly 3 of the old 75052 sets. I'm just waiting for a sale of the new one for the Wuher bartender minifig. Do you plan on building a front, or leaving it open for easy access?

Hi all, After following these forums for a couple of months, I finally signed up the other day. I'd like to share my first real MOC - Tantive IV Interior. This is purely based on re-using pieces from an existing set [Republic Gunship - 75021]. This was after watching Rouge 1 and seeing all these white pieces laying on the floor after dismantling the gunship. I got inspired to create this. Admittedly it could be better: 1) Its my first real SW MOC 2) I have minor 'Lego OCD' and do not like mixing up set pieces (although I'm relaxing that now, grouping unless they are themed items together... except UCS sets :) ). 3) The photos could be better. I did this many months ago and since dismantled, but the ldr file is available if people wish to get better angles etc. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-7707/azzer86/tantive-iv-ship-interior/#comments [img=] [img=] [img=] I hope you enjoy Thanks. Edit: Images added now I've realised how to do it :)
