    Lovely work!
  3. Love it! Wonderful mid 90s minifigures, displayed and captured beautifully!
  4. Brilliant!
  5. Cheers! Those newish 3 leaf pieces are perfect for grapevines, and hadn't seen them done like this before! Glad you like the hands - again I'd seen them all lined up in a regular manner, but I wanted them to look more chaotic for a slightly messy thatched roof! Thank you!! So glad it spoke to you. It is a Raven - would have to be as it's raven scaled by minifigure standards. Yes the tree is a cross section of the trunk, perhaps would have been better if I included the entire thing. :) and THANK YOU on the Bubble Scout Support - means a lot! Cheers, and you're welcome! Thanks for the nice comment. :) Thanks!
  6. Thank you! :)
  7. The prices for many of these are eyewatering, it will be fascinating to see how it affects sales. Alongside the Mario sets, which are also insanely priced (the ones which don't include the new technology), this is a rather risky venture. We'll see how it pans out. My favourite new recolour is that curved blue corner piece that makes up the "eye" of the "hammerhead"! Beautiful!
  8. "Pilot H and Pilot G were two of the bravest explorers the Federation had ever known. Working together as an inseparable team, they had flown to the farthest reaches of the galaxy in their Bubble Scout ships, discovering distant star systems, retrieving valuable artefacts, whilst always evading the rogues living at the edge of the Galaxy." I just had to try this using those curve pieces, and this is the result! The build got a lot of nice comments on Flickr, Reddit and Instagram so I subsequently decided to make it into a Lego Ideas submission. It's very difficult for non movie or TV based projects to gather enough support on there, which has been been discussed on this forum, so I'm attempting to buck the trend of IP Ideas! I couldn't help but make reference to M:Tron and Blacktron, and hopefully new trans-yellow parts would be a nice side effect of this project being made. Unfortunately modern magnet pieces are rather bulky because of a change in the law, so that part might need a bit of refining. G and H are mine and my fiancée's initials; so the project has a little extra personal resonance for me too! I would really appreciate your vote so that this build might one day become a real set. Please also comment so that it goes up in the popularity rankings! It's been doing quite well so far (550 supporters in 10 days) so lets get it to 10,000! Please also share with any friends or family who you think might also like this. :) https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f64e35a2-ebb2-43a7-9dca-dbe0e683bbbf
  9. Beautiful work! It's in an instantly recognisable, personal style, yet adheres to the principles of neoclassic space building! Great work.
  10. Yes, I totally see that! Not the original intention but its a great idea/interpretation Hehe! So glad! Thanks very much! I love making that extra effort to put the photograph in a background!
  11. Thanks so much! Yes I was happy with the underside, hence doing a separate "Space Scene" edit just for that one! I'd never seen the blue fin elements used like that either - probably the only bit that could be used in a real set! Thanks man! So glad! Cheers! Means a lot. I have a lot more in progress, and have posted a lot on my Flickr too. :)

Great angles, and oh so creepy!
  13. Thanks! You can see high resolution versions if you click through to Flickr and then click download see all sizes - and go to the biggest one (no need to actually download)
  14. Haha, thanks! The guy in cowl is actually labelling - he has a paint brush in his hand! There is a guy drinking it in the fourth photo by the house. :)
  15. I totally agree. There's something missing for me on that Barracuda Bay ship... Obviously the best is the original, but I love this new Creator set, think its the best Lego set this year.
  16. A creation I made for CCC 18 months ago, depicting all the stages of winemaking. I learned a lot from researching how this was done in Medieval times! Was very happy when it came first in the category it was in. Here are the stages depicted: -Tilling the ground -Planting seeds (try to spot them!) -Collecting chicken manure as fertiliser (including one chicken in the process of making some of the fresh stuff!) -Watering the seedlings using watering pots - they have a thumb release on the top which releases the water. Ingenious! -Hoeing and weeding using domesticated pig varieties that eat vegetation without excessively digging up the ground, like other breeds. (Important not to use their dung as manure! - it’s full of worms that are harmful to humans.) -Ripening (the four rows represent progressive stages of the vines maturing) -Picking/harvesting in autumn (hence the autumnal tree in this area of the MOC) -Stomping and pressing. (How widespread the use of feet for pressing grapes has ever been is disputed as grape presses of Roman age have been found. It has been used sometimes, and it makes good sense as a method because one doesn’t want to release the bitter tannins by crushing the seeds, but it is inefficient and so hard to imagine it was widely used. As such I also included a design for a mechanical press.) -Bottling/Labelling -Storing/fermenting (in the basement) -Selling (off to market! This is the oldest part of the build - it's inspired by a Lego ideas book, and was my first castle themed build after my dark ages I think. In one of the photos you can see it has a set of hinged steps for loading.)
  17. The LL-942 was designed for use in high density atmospheres, and also to be able to withstand manoeuvres in high gravitational fields. Early exploratory missions included many to gas and ice giants, its natural habitat, but it soon proved so popular with Federation pilots that it became one of the most used ships in active service. A Classic Space spaceship I built for the 40th anniversary of the theme last year, in lovely old grey. I also decided to do a retro version of the build with box art to match!
  18. Thanks very much! I was pleased at how expressive the head turned out. Thanks, man. Glad you enjoyed it! Yes! Nostalgia trip to a theme that never was :) This was just featured on the Eurobricks instagram - how can I get them to link to my instagram profile: the_brick_artisan?
  19. Thanks! I made it a long time ago, and so it's satisfying to look back and see my use of more basic shaping to create an effective creature! Thanks very much! Cheers! I actually just remembered, that I did indeed try another animal... might have to dig that one up again and finish it! Thanks so much!
  20. Trailing the smaller turtle craft, larger vessels can often be seen, with many more robot crew. What these serene droid ships portend is still opaque, but gliding impassively through the heavens, their tranquil, steadfast passage has a spellbinding effect on people lucky enough to observe them. Another space turtle I built around the same time as my previously posted ones. I remember taking hours perfecting the octagonal geometry and the head too, things which seem rather easier to contemplate now, having built far more complex designs. Again, I'm still quite attached to this one, though think it might be time to free up some shelf space. Part one is here.
  21. "Recent reports of eerie sightings from the edge of the galaxy: turtles, swimming, soaring elegantly through nebulae, as if across liquid oceans. It seems that these craft are able to absorb energy and fundamental particles into their neon shells and then retransmit them through movable fins for propulsion in any direction. Piloted by a race of mysterious robots, these mechanical beings have chosen to replicate natural forms in the designs for their spacecraft." Something a bit different! I think these were amongst the first Space MOCs I built after my dark ages, and they're relatively simple, but I'm still keen on them so I just posted them on Flickr. They've been hanging out on my shelf for the last few years. Trans-neon green and dark blue were always my favourites as a kid. My building process usually involves trying to understand and accentuate (even celebrate!) the unique design of Lego elements, rather than trying to disguise their qualities. Even the unpopular large parts have a lot of fascinating possibilities geometrically and aesthetically, far beyond their usage in sets. What large Lego parts are you a fan of?
  22. There is lots of crap, but you can use tags to find things you might be interested in, then only follow those people who have posted builds which you admire. In a sense its similar to Flickr in the sense that you can look through groups to find builds which you like, and follow those builders whose work catches your eye. It's not as good as Flickr though because the image quality is so low.
  23. My suspicion is that instagram is stealing many people away from forums these days... There has been a boom in the Lego community there, to the extent that many have left Flickr altogether for instance, and Flickr is certainly suffering - comments there are far fewer and likes too it seems. These communities are invaluable though, so I am delighted that you are continuing to innovate and put in the effort to make this forum thrive.
