  1. This looks so great!
  2. Thank you for the list! We're also in the process of bricklinging it; it will be very helpful.
  3. This looks so great!
  4. Thank you! It's one of my favorite movie&novel (although its been a while since last time I read the book). We had great fun building it. I already showed my son the scene a while ago, but between the holidays we watched the whole movie; and it was great seeing him love it and be inspired by it (I don't think I have to explain how different it is compared to today's blockbusters)
  5. Thank you!
  6. Thank you! The half sphere of the Death Star was kind of an obvious choice, it fitted perfectly to the scale. Yes, we included the speeder road too, since it was a quite unique part of the architecture; and were debating whether to include the Jedi temple also, but in the end decided against it.
  7. Thank you; glad you like it! Well, we wanted to differentiate as much as possible the normal world and the upside down; hence the more vivid, green color palette for the forest ground (as opposed to the normal, brownish colors that should be natural); the grey/black is based on the depiction of the upside down in the show. We knew from the start that we wanted to build it with the two sides attached; that was the starting point of the diorama; and from there we build everything in mirror (more or less; there were a few variations).
  8. Thank you so much! Glad you like it. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures with the pieces used for the Ghost; but I'm sure most of them can be recognised from the images. It was the most time consuming part of the build; we wanted to get it perfect. We could have used the one from the advent calendar, but wanted it to be our MOC.
  9. Thank you!
  10. No, we haven't yet; thanks for showing us!
  11. It looks great; too bad it was rejected. Really love the way you built the demodogs.
  12. Unfortunately, we don't have any photos with the frame between the two sides; but we used 52107 bricks (modified 1 x 2 with Studs on 2 Sides) placed horizontally, and tiles around the exterior. PS. I posted it in the Sci fi section because I think the series is scifi/horror (and of course nostalgia) driven; but perhaps you're right; but I have no idea how I can move a thread from one theme to another.
  13. Thank you!
  14. LOL :))))) (oh, no; we've been found out)
  15. Hi everybody! We built a small diorama inspired by Stranger Things; hope you like it: More images here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/152265303@N06/sets/72157706048488644
  16. Hi everybody, We built this Lothal skyline from the Rebels series, in Architecture style; hope you like it: Tried to include the recognizable buildings; Ezra's tower, the Imperial Center, the Old Senate building, the marketplace, etc. The Ghost and ATDP are our designs too. (We know that the ATDP is way larger than it should be, but wanted it to be more detailed) More images here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/152265303@N06/sets/72157706049088074
  17. "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" Although this is more Also sprach Zarathustra&Blue Danube moment
  18. XD
  19. Thank you!
  20. I'm unfamiliar with the point&shoots, so quickly checked dpreview for a description; that wasn't what I had in mind when I said decentish camera :)) The complete lack of aperture&expo control is unfortunately a no starter (at least for me). But you don't need to shell out a fortune for equipment; even some bridge cameras are pretty good. And if you don't have a problem with owning a SH, there are a lot of companies that sell refurbished equipment (thats how I bought my current camera; at 1/3rd of its original price); or buy one directly from fb marketplace/classified ad/etc. with personal pickup; to check the shutter count and condition. XD You should have stated that its for both of you. But perhaps thats not such a great idea; my previous camera that I bought was "ours"; and after we split, when she wanted it, she got half of it. Literally half of it. XD
  21. Thank you! It means a great deal to us too! There are some great tutorials on the net creating&using lightboxes; I'd only add that you need a sturdy tripod, the timer function to further reduce camera shake; and a decent-ish camera&lens is already good (I use a 10 year old Pentax with some cheap zoom, and a few 30-50 year old manual primes). Try not cranking up the ISO too much (it adds noise), set the aperture depending on the type of shot you want (f1.4 - 4 narrow field of depth, f8-11 everything is crisp), set the exposure time according to it (or use aperture priority, let your camera decide, so you don't have over/underexposed areas), and you're all set.
  22. Hi everyone! Our MOC was featured on Legos social media! https://www.facebook.com/LEGO/posts/10156262090443403 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsf6Hx8h2DE/ https://twitter.com/LEGO_Group/status/1083740344481705984
  23. Thank you very much! We tried to stay as close to the source material as possible. I took the photos outside on the terrace; with a cloudy sky (so there was diffuse lighting). Usually I take my photos of MOCs this way; but if there aren't clouds, I put up a white sheet in the path of the sun, to achieve the diffuse light. But I'm in the process to set up a normal studio; for that I'll use three DIY softboxes and a desktop lightbox. There are a lot of online refences that can be used.
  24. Happy New Year everyone! Our last build of 2018 was the iconic scene from 2001 A Space Odyssey - from bone to space station. Hope you enjoy! The flickr album, with the rest of the photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/152265303@N06/albums/72157705266651634
  25. Thank you! Yes, they are instantly recognizable (and very cool looking). Although this is a generic orc camp, we tried to create the buildings as close to the source as possible.
