  1. Been pretty busy so I haven't had much time to work on the Sanctum, but I got to the bag containing Spider-Man today. While there's not a lot of boot printing, I feel like what is there really does make all the difference. I put it next to the Spidey figure that came with the bugle, and it just looks so much better having something on the boots so the torso and the legs don't contrast so much. Would full boot printing be better? Of course. But if this is as much as we're going to get I'm pretty happy. Hopefully it makes its way onto more Spidey figures.
  2. The printing's better on the older hairpiece too, but a slight downgrade on the figures seems to be the norm with the Sanctum unfortunately, Spider- and Iron Man excluded. I am tempted by Gargantos! I like his scene in the film and I would also like to get my hands on America and a better Wong. Might have to wait a while though - I bought the Sanctum before hearing about all the attainable deals from Zavvi and Argos so now my wallet needs a rest, I think Also, unrelated - I forget how people around here feel about customs (I generally browse, but don't buy, bar one exception), but Firestar has a new Stormbreaker mould on their site which is pretty cool. Puts even the new build from the Goat Boat to shame.
  3. Finished the ground floor of the Sanctum. Been a fun build so far. Love all the little details packed into every little corner. The updated Dr Strange fig is great (I know it's not new to this set but I never got the Gargantos set), although I still prefer the fabric cape personally (and his Infinity War hairpiece, for that matter). First time I've seen the new Iron Man helmet up close as well. Now I have it in hand the size doesn't bother me so much. Scale aside it's definitely the best looking of the 3 types imo.
  4. Starling Toys also has another good offer (£180) but is already sold out unfortunately. I've already kind of psyched myself up for the trip to the Lego store to get the set though so I don't mind too much.
  5. It's also available for pre-order at Smythe's in the UK! Just wondering, anyone have any idea of the box dimensions? I'm considering going to pick it up from Liverpool tomorrow but I don't drive, so I'm not sure how foolish that would be
  6. I'm okay with him looking like comic book Namor, since my display is a mix between cinematic and comic, however, while it's not perfect, the Tasu Leech head from SW:TFA might be a good substitute. I'll try it out once I get my hands on the Namor fig.
  7. Pretty cool sets! Although the images I'm looking at aren't the best resolution. I'm enjoying the sleek designs of the various Wakandan vehicles, I agree though that the Sunbird doesn't look like it should be the price it is. There's a charm to that 4+ set. Very simple, fun and good figures. I'd like to see some better pictures and get a closer look at Iron Heart and Namor though, as the latter in particular is what excites me most about this film. Edit: Am I right in thinking minifig Namor is lacking facial hair?
  8. Very excited to see this. I actually held off on buying the system scale set at the time because I was sure a better looking variant would come around and here it is! Unfortunately although the price per part is good, it's still pretty pricey. Much more so than I would have guessed a few years back. If I get this it probably won't be for a while. It took me 5 years to get around to buying the Falcon, and even then that was with a heavy reduction. I'd definitely like to see some of the figures @The Stud mentioned. Kuill most of all!
  9. Yeah, I'm happy with that build. Looking forward to it. The previously unseen figures don't inspire me that much though, bar maybe Mordo. I need a closer look at him.
  10. You must have godlike vision to make out all of those sets! Haha, that picture quality is absolutely terrible. But I can see a beige splodge in the middle and I like location sets, so I hope your theory is right.
  11. As you say, they're all pretty similar. In terms of significance though, the one from last year is pretty much Spider-Man's standard comic costume (and now, I guess, the closest to Holland's costume). The MK4 is from Spider-Man: Worldwide when Peter was doing a bit of a Tony Stark routine (own company, globetrotting adventures, Spider-Man is his pretend bodyguard) and is basically just a reinforced version of the standard suit with some hidden upgrades. The main feature is that the suit has a bit of a metallic sheen and logo glows, which obviously doesn't happen on the minifigure, making it more or less just another stylised take on his standard costume. I agree that it's a pretty good looking figure. The 4+ one... As in the one that just came out from 'Spidey' or the Far From Home one? Either way I guess they're designs that are relegated to non-comic media, so it depends how much emphasis you put on those. The CMF one is obviously pretty popular, a more vibrant take on Holland's costume. But in reality it's obviously based on that one episode of What If? and the Disney park - making it, perhaps, the least significant? Especially since you've already included the Homecoming suit in your collection. I don't really have anything to say about Ultimate. I like that it's printed on a blue torso but other than that it's just more of the same really. TL;DR: The current 2021- Spider-Man minifigure is probably the most comic accurate and significant. MK4 is cool too and straddles the line between the classic and what it's actually meant to represent.
  12. I'll say this for the Kenobi sets, they're pretty good for delivering desirable figures. As such, I'm very glad Ben is also going to be in the Scythe, because this set itself is just kind of... Nothing? May try and pick up Ned down the line. Cool to see a new Vader piece and Lego using the new skin tone once again.
  13. Yeah that's fair enough! I've just been wanting a Spider-Man with something on his boots forever, so I'm easily swayed I guess. That combo Defender Strange would have been awesome. Now I'm even more disappointed haha. I guess the only real surprise now is what Wanda looks like? Presumably Strange will be the one from the Gargantos set, and Iron Man will be the one from the previous Sanctum but with the new helmet? Tbh, bar the four main heroes, these extra figs are probably just going in my parts bin or getting sold to make some money for Bricktober Wong. edit: forgot about Mordo.
  14. Effectively yeah, but the design is ever so slightly different. The printing on the blue has changed for instance. Plus the head and the feet as you've said. I love it personally. A few simple changes but effective, I think. Next step, full boot printing! The rest of the figures though? Eh. Ebony Maw is cool I guess. Looking at the zombie Strange I think I might have actually preferred his regular, Defender Strange look.
  15. I know I've said I'm mainly getting the Sanctum for the build and the figures are a bonus, but I've gotta say - quite disappointed (but not surprised) that Lego have settled on that face for Wong. I don't really think it captures the character well at all.
  16. The Scythe looks awesome. Great ship build, plus all the main figures in one set. Lego is spoiling us. I was interested in getting this at some point after the AT-TE but this might take precedence.
  17. Interesting! Do the arms not a fair bit shinier than the rest? If I find myself mellowing on the helmet then I may give that a shot. Edit: Also, looking at TJs posts and that newer SE helmet could have been the perfect middle point I meant in my last post if it just had a splash of gold on the lower mouth piece.
  18. That Whiplash fig is definitely cool. Unfortunately TJ's photos have definitely turned me off the Mark 85. It's nitpicky, but just like when the first variant was released a few years ago the contrast between the solid gold arms and the printed legs and helmet bother me. Plus, the helmet size. I don't know what I was expecting. But it just looked so good in those promo pics. I still reckon it's a good collection of figs to get in one set though. Just a shame about the price.
  19. I think I prefer the new helmet to the original, but they're both too big in my opinion. Tbh, the option I'd be happiest with would just be the new print on the SE helmet. I'd be perfectly happy without the faceplate function if it meant a better scale and print.
  20. "Don't do that. Don't give me hope"
  21. This wave sounds amazing. The AT-TE I'll definitely be picking up. Sounds like a great build and a great minifigure selection. Finally, Cody! The Scythe sounds interesting. Having the three main Inquisitors in one set is cool, and the ship looks pretty good so far from the promotional material. I'll have to come back to this one post-Kenobi. The Jedi Starfighter isn't a must have for me but I won't lie, I kind of want it. I enjoy the little Jedi ship builds. The Justifier and Andor are a pass for me. I'll be on the lookout for that Omega figure though. I don't love the show but I do quite like her as a character (which I think may put me in the minority). I'm interested in seeing BD-1 and the Vader diorama, but again, I won't be getting them. All-in-all, August is shaping up to be an expensive month Lego-wise. I've already been waiting patiently for the Sanctum Sanctorum on the Marvel side of things, and now there's all these great sounding sets.
  22. I've said it before but I'm primarily interested in the build for this one. Any figures beyond Wong and Strange are just a bonus for me. Intrigued to see how the IW figures will vary from their older counterparts. Presumably Iron Man will have the new helmet. Will Wong have the more accurate Bricktober face or the inaccurate new one? And most importantly, will HC Spidey have web printing on his boots?! (I know the answer is no to that one but a guy can dream)
  23. It's a real shame Lego hasn't been doing Disney+ sets because I feel pretty much every episode of Moon Knight had some set potential. The museum fight, the pyramid/hall of gods, that collector's place, the boat and various things from more recent episodes like the spoiler stuff mentioned above. The show also reignited my disappointment of the CMFs overuse of What If figures instead of more recent Disney+ heroes, but tbf Lego might not have had anything to work with at the time. I can't remember when we got our first look at Moon Knight's costume. But oh well, maybe one day.
  24. Kind of torn tbh. I like the new helmet on the 85 and I dig the War Machine figure (I don't have one of him anymore) but as others have said that's crazy expensive. I do appreciate that you're getting a bunch of core Iron Man characters in one set, that's cool. I actually quite like the inclusion of the car as well. If the price was a bit lower, I'd snap this up in an instant. As it stands though it'll probably be one of those sets I admire from afar and never get round to buying.
  25. Ravager Thor will probably be easy enough to throw together but it really is a shame it's not in the smaller set. Love everything in this trailer. Would love to get some more sets down the line, unlikely though that may be.
