  1. This got me more than it should have That would be pretty cool, although I only just finally got the Infinity War one so I rather selfishly hope not! I think it's likely to be something Avengers related (because it always is). Alternatively, something from Black Panther just because of how big it was. But I've been looking at the Diagon Alley and Ninjago city sets recently; if Marvel could do something like that it would be awesome. Although the problem is a) the buildings in the MCU aren't lined up next to each other and b) are there that many points of interest in New York? (Avengers tower, the Sanctum, digging a little deeper you've got things like Nelson & Murdock Law firm, Alias investigations etc... Anything else?)
  2. Oh yeah, my experience has been the same. But a few people have mentioned seeing it over the last few pages. Will that translate over to the newer model though?
  3. - Solid points, both. I just think with a set like this it would be possible to ride both waves. Slave I stands out because its not like the Ghost or the Bad Batch shuttle. People already know what it is, and recognise Boba's new look. You release the set this year, you get the Mando fans buying it now, then the additional Boba fans around Christmas time buying it then. Either for themselves after enjoying the show, or as Christmas presents. Otherwise, they'll have to wait until whenever the next wave, and those aforementioned potential Boba sets hit. As such, I do also agree the new figure in those BoBF sets is also a strong argument for holding it back - if there are any at all ((bear in mind, Mando got sets, but WandaVision just started and thus far the Marvel fans have nothing, currently making it the exception, not the rule) although I do believe there will be sets). It also then it becomes a question of how successful this OT-era Slave I's sales will be? Especially when, as many point out, there is currently a Slave I on some shelves right now. Of course, marketing isn't my field of expertise so I concede they probably (hopefully?) know what they're doing.
  4. It'll be like those Kenner 'Early Bird Certificate' sets from the 70s. Except this time, rather than lack of stock, the certificate will just say "We haven't decided what this helmet is yet" Also, the more I think about this Slave I set the weirder I find it. I mean, we're getting Fennec, who, without her connection to Boba Fett would just be a random one off character. We're getting Bo who's armour is pretty much the same across the various TV shows. Another Cara. The updated Mando we just recieved. With all those characters coming in season 2 appropriate attire in one wave,, the lack of painted-Boba really stands out. I really hope that's a mistake.
  5. Pretty great wave from the sounds of things, although realistically I probably won't get much of it. Although Slave I is the weak link, I am interested to see if it turns out anything like 6209 since I missed the 20th anniversary one and it's doubled in price since Mando came out Hopefully, if not, this release gets that set (and the Maul figure, if its the Crimson Dawn one) to go down in price. At very least I forsee a lot of my time being spent on eBay and Brjcklink looking for the figures. What a selection!
  6. While I lean towards wanting a comic CMF, I'll be personally happy with either as long as there is at least something new. I'm not getting my hopes up, but if the Netflix heroes were mixed in in some form that would make my day. Not because I'm a big fan of those shows necessarily, but because heroes like Daredevil and the Punisher are some of Marvel's most popular and I don't see them popping up anywhere else (although I realise Punisher probably isn't that likely - but hey, we've had Deadpool and Lobo in the past, so who knows?)
  7. I don't recall anyone talking about this before. Looks like it's based on some hitherto unrevealed scene where Yoda took Luke's X-Wing for a joyride across the galaxy after lifting it from the swamps of Dagobah
  8. Just finished my builds. I agree that the hut isn't the best, but I like it enough that I'll keep it to use as background scenery behind my figures. The ballista will probably get disassembled for parts. Really love Beskar Mando's body, but the lack of detail on the helmet makes it look a bit... Off? Especially when stood next to the fairly detailed Boba Fett. Grogu is adorable, obviously. Enjoyed putting together the TIE fighter, repetitive though it was. Stuck the 2nd Bill Burr episode of Mandalorian on in the background and breezed through it. Good shape and size. Nice to finally have one of the main SW ships that my collection had been lacking. It is however the first time I've owned the stormtrooper with the dual moulded helmet. In isolation it's okay, but next to the rest of my figures (older Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, etc) it looks pretty goofy/bad. Will probably replace it at some point if I can.
  9. Oh definitely! I didn't know it at the time but it came out a few days early at... The Entertainer (I think? On the 28th?) and apparently was gone within the day.
  10. True. I was banking on Argos anyway. Got my order in. Only one delivery slot left today. Could mean nothing. Could mean people are already quickly buying up ToT. I think it was around this time they ran out of the 501st sets last year.
  11. Me and a friend have been keeping each other updated on sightings of the new sets (UK also) to try and avoid the whole 501st debacle, and he just pointed out to me the X-Wing and TIE are listed as 'back order' on lego.com already! Also, Happy New Year folks!
  12. He's my most desired OT fig at this point. I have a space saved on my shelf for his eventual arrival, but I don't foresee that being anytime soon (come on Lego, prove me wrong). As for the current sets, I've always been pretty positive on this wave and the new images have cemented my opinion. For a brief moment I thought maybe I should get the X-Wing, I love how sleek it is. But instead I'll just scour the images to see if I can mod my 2018 version instead. That TIE and Mando set though... They will be mine!
  13. Looks like Marvel may have just given LEGO the justification to keep pumping out more mechs. https://www.marvel.com/articles/comics/the-avengers-gear-up-in-all-new-armor-in-avengers-mech-strike
  14. I was already on board but from what we can see I like the look of it. Kind of hard to tell but the speeder doesn't look too oversized so that's a plus. I like the Child's little carrier. All those ebayers selling a Mando/child/carrier combo are going to have to lower their prices now!
  15. I do agree with you. I'm just trying to see the positives. I guess it's just down to the lack of sets. Hopefully the bigger waves will scratch that itch. The Tusken Tent is new, I guess?
  16. So far it's working out pretty well for me, I've never owned a TIE Fighter, couldn't spare the money for the Razor Crest, and although I don't want the X-Wing or the Lambda, I may try and track down some of the figs. It's a great wave for us poor folk lacking a big collection But yeah, I agree that it's a shame there isn't a little more variety. Hopefully Cobb will endure and we'll get him somewhere down the line. The episodes dialogue implies to me that he will.
  17. Agreed. Although personally I think the face looks a bit goofy, I don't fault LEGO for that. I just got the picture up side by side with a comic cover featuring Reyes and I can't really see how LEGO could make the figure that much more accurate at that scale without just creating a new head mould entirely. (maybe blunt his teeth a bit? Idk) I'm curious as to whether the dislike of the figure comes from the fact a lot of you seem to be Marvel film/TV fans first, comics second. Is this a case of people preferring the TV/MCU adapted figures over comic book ones or do people think this figure poorly represents the (comic) source material? I never watched AoS past season two so I don't have as much of a connection to the character as many of you seem to (his placement on the current Avengers roster is about the extent of my knowledge).
  18. I think that's probably it. Which in turn seems to be partially based off of his costume from Hickman's Avengers run. All it needs now is dual moulded arms! I feel you on that. That's partly why I appreciate these Square Enix figs though. They seem to be the closest we'll get to comic book costumes for the time being, as opposed to the films and the cartoons. I agree a lighter shade of blue would have been nice though.
  19. You're a true hero. I feel like every time I look at #legoleaks the amount of people posting irrelevant nonsense increases. I like that Cap also. Is it based on a specific costume? Looks to me like a blend of the comics and the Endgame suit. Could be one of the game costumes but I haven't touched it in weeks so I can't remember.
  20. Definitely just the regular game. Although I'm not even sure I would say the regular version is worth it. I like the Minifigures that came of it though so I suppose that's something. And argh, you lucky US folk. I really like that Miles figure, and I've had the game platinumed for 2 years. It was the reason I bought my PS4! I'll just try and take comfort in the fact, as you guys say, that I could have very likely won were I able to enter.
  21. In this instance, Cap, Iron Man and Thor are the obvious one. The Avengers trinity. But to your point, in a looser sense, I'm not even sure Cap would make the general Marvel (most popular) trinity - maybe Spider-Man, Wolverine and Iron Man (or even/previously Hulk). I'd love to see it in whatever form it takes. Even if we don't love all the picks (presuming this does happen) there will probably be at least one or two figures we each appreciate.
  22. Think that looks pretty good, tbh. Yeah, it's not the right scale, but personally I'm looking forward to a TIE at a cheaper price that won't dwarf my Falcon, X-wing and other sets, height wise.
  23. While I agree these choices are rather uninspired, I am actually quite excited to see this TIE. I was lucky enough to snag the 2018 X-wing for £25 (minus Biggs ) but I refused to pay the asking price for the TIE Fighter and the eBay prices are ridiculous. Plus, realistically, how much detail does a TIE Fighter actually need? For everyone who already has these sets though, this wave is a bit of a let down. But maybe now LEGO is getting the classic remakes out of the way early in the year, subsequent waves may have something a bit more interesting in store? Only time will tell I suppose.
  24. He's clearly had too much to drink. And that Devaronian's just parked his speeder inside the bar. Chaos at the Cantina. In all seriousness though, I love the way the set folds out. I think the whole interior looks great. May have to start saving up for my first UCS/MBS set!
  25. May have to do the same. Regardless of whether I can fork out the cash for this, as much as I like the look, I dont know where I would put it! Probably too wide for the shelves I currently keep my sets on, unless it's possible to be divided up as @Brikkyy13 hoped for. If that were the case, it could make a great backdrop behind my minifig collection. Whatever the case, I need to get my hands on some of those figs. Such a great selection. Hopefully the prices aren't too much, I confess I did spend a fair bit on that Cloud City Lando because I always wanted his precursor as a kid and he's my favourite character, but I couldn't justify that kind of price on other characters.
