  1. That is true, but it's also true of pretty much every other set. Plus, Ronin, Kate Bishop and Ms. Marvel are all character that have had some sort of media push in the past few years (Endgame and the Avengers game). Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with what we're getting, I just think with a few alterations this CMF could have gone from good to great.
  2. Jeez, I've missed a lot. Y'know, after the whole 'a series of missed opportunities' and 'one series will inform the other' hints, I did start to suspect that the CMF would be Disney+, and when FatWS was knocked out of contention, that the set would be based on Captain Britain and Iron Steve (because as someone's already set, that's like LEGOs ideal set material ). Glad that's now been confirmed. And I'm excited to pick up Falcon, Bucky, Wanda and Vision. I must admit though, I do think it's a shame that Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel aren't included. Personally, I'd prefer Kate Bishop, Ronin and an updated Kamala over alternate universe versions of characters we already have (or even as well as tbh - I'd be down for Uatu and Howard figs like someone else wishlisted). Though maybe that's just me. But oh well, I'm sure they'll show up eventually.
  3. Haha, I did think that as I was writing it. But I was thinking them all being on the New Avengers together was more substantial a connection than say... Spider-Man and War Machine (plus the aforementioned classmates thing, Cage and Fist being in Ultimate Spider-Man and Spidey, DD and Punisher's semi-regular team ups). I'd love it if Nelson & Murdock was the other building. Maybe with an Alias Investigations office on one of the floors?
  4. I don't think they dated (though I may be wrong - maybe in one of the many alternate universes) but they did go to school together. Tbh, all the Netflix heroes have some sort of link to Spider-Man, so they would fit.
  5. Yeah, obviously I don't know anything, it's just my take on the 'series of missed opportunities' comment (it could be CMF related like most people think, but I'm just considering the possibility it's Netflix series related). Jessica Jones even worked for the Bugle at one point. The Sinister Six makes sense. Although really with a place like the Bugle you could throw in any number of villains. Really hope we get a proper look soon.
  6. Curious to see what the other building is. And 14+ figs, amazing! I'm not getting my hopes up but I still suspect we might see some more Defenders show up. Personally I hope we get several more Bugle staff as well.
  7. 'My disappointment is immeasurable... And my day is ruined.' Hopefully TLG will surprise us (in a good way) but if not, then at least its more time to save up.
  8. I can't wait to see the Bugle. I'm going to get it regardless of what figs it comes with, but all these hints and rumours are music to my ears. People are probably right that it's got something to do with the CMF, but alternatively, could 'a series of missed opportunities' refer to the Netflix heroes? Daredevil and Punisher are already heavily rumoured. So could we also see Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones? That may not fit with Falcon Fan's hint necessarily but I've got nothing on that one.
  9. I can't wait to see how this set turns out. Daredevil and Punisher were part of the reason I wanted the CMF to be at least partially comic based. But them showing up in the main set I'm after works for me! For $300 hopefully it'll have a lot of surprises (not that I'm getting my hopes up)
  10. I would be interested in some things depending on how they tackled it. If it was just more of the same sort of thing as the Spider-Man waves (The DB excluded), I wouldnt care for it. Personally, I don't want to see Captain America and Drax's monster trucks. If it was more buildings or vehicles that are actually from the comics, then I would be into it. Asgard, the Fantasticar, things like that. I could probably come up with a fairly substantial list of things I'd like to see that would be a decent blend of locations, vehicles and mechs. But I think it's unlikely they sell all that well (definitely not as well as the MCU stuff). I assume most people who become a fan of the MCU don't then take that next step to reading comics. Using Guardians as an example, if there are two Guardians sets on shelves - one MCU, one comics, they'll probably pick up the former. Those characters are pretty much the same in name only, after all. Although I must say some Annihilation-era Guardians sets would be cool. I don't know that I'd buy those particular sets myself (I'm rather specific with my Marvel purchases) but they would look awesome.
  11. Very good. Shame this means his secondhand cost probably won't be coming down any time soon.
  12. That's an interesting selection! Not sure if I'll get this set but I may have to hunt down some of the figs... Is it all the Guardians? (from the scene)
  13. I wouldn't be against that. Like you say, it worked in the Sanctum and from the outside it would just look like a regular apartment building. If it means getting more Spidey characters outside of just the Bugle staff I'm all for it!
  14. I'm curious about this. Maybe a printing press, darkroom or a broadcasting setup of some kind?
  15. I'm not going to get my hopes up but I wonder if this is where they'll finally put webbing on Spidey's boots? Excited to see what figures this set holds. I've recently bought Avengers Tower and got the Sanctum for Christmas so this will go nicely alongside those I'm sure.
  16. Exciting stuff! This will probably be my first D2C set. The Venom inclusion is par for the course really but at least he makes sense here. He is a photographer/journalist after all.
  17. Thanks! Thor and Spider-Man are two of my fav characters so whether this is NYC or Asgard based, chances are high I'll be interested!
  18. Haha IKR? Every time I look away I miss 10 pages and lose track. @Scarilian, you're my hero. Also, with this countdown, I missed when it started so I assume it's counting down to half an hour from now? (6pm UK time)
  19. I agree with @cosmic here, I'd be a bit disappointed if the CMF completely shunned comics when we're getting the chance to flesh out the MCU through Legacy waves. I wouldn't hate it of course, there are MCU figures I'd be happy to pick up, but comic series can address characters that have mainstream appeal but aren't in the MCU. Characters like Daredevil, Blade, Punisher, the Defenders, SHIELD, X-Men and Fantastic Four aren't in the MCU (yet), but do have movies/TV shows, and thus, their own fans. Sure, we'll definitely get some of them down the line, but it's not looking very likely that we'll be getting MCU sets with some of them for the foreseeable future. I just want some variety tbh. And I guess I'm a little impatient at the thought of waiting till 2025 to see these characters integrated, ha! Also, quick aside re: Asgard. I know we've seemingly settled on the Daily Bugle as the D2C, but if it was a comic book Asgard, that locale hasn't been all gold in the comics for some years now I don't think (decades, even) so it wouldn't neccessarily need a load of gold pieces. (I don't think it's likely they would have gone that route, I'm just making an observation). Anyway, enjoying how busy this place is atm!
  20. I think I've figured it out! Maybe the extra pieces in the Benatar set are for a farm, and instead of a big fig, a brick-built Thanos, with a removable 'I went for the head' feature! On a more serious note, I am looking forward to that set. I used to have the old variant, but it felt too small (to me). I also hope that Daily Bugle rumour or something similar does pan out. Someone mentioned the Bugle and surrounding buildings being an Idea, which I think would be great! Something like Diagon Alley, but Marvel New York.
  21. Pretty cool set, for sure. Not what I was expecting (mostly in regards to the colour of the dragon and the look of the Mandarin) but that's on me. I guess Wenwu's look is meant to contrast with that of Trevor. I like Shang-Chi's design. I've always been a fan of his simpler costumes, but until we get a clearer pic it's hard to say how well that translates into an interesting figure. Do we know what figures are in the other set? I'm assuming since Akwafina is playing one of the main characters and she's not here the smaller set will have her character and Shang-Chi?
  22. You could also argue that some of the 'comic' sets aren't even that. Several of the non-film sets are based on the various TV shows.* And then on top of that a lot of the 'comic' sets that aren't based on the TV shows are just weird random assemblages that Lego has made up (all the Spider-vehicles, for instance, although I guess the same could be said about various MCU sets). At this point though, I'm happy for the CMF to go either way. I just hope it's a healthy balance like the DC line. I know you all want all the missing costumes, but I hope we get some new stuff too. 6 redesigns and 6 new characters would be cool. Edit: *Luke Cage is a good example of what I mean. He's one of my favourites. But if you want MCU/Netflix Cage, you're out of luck. And if you want a comic-book Cage, well, you're still out of luck because it's based on the Ultimate Spider-Man show.
  23. True, but Asgard has been present throughout all three phases so far, so it could take elements from each film it appears in. Kind of like the Death Star. And I agree - I was just speculating. I'm glad us Marvel fans are finally get our time in the sun. Very true. There is quite a lot of stuff they could build now that you mention it. Again, it would have to be rather Hoth-like, but it could work.
  24. I'd say (old) Asgard is one of the more likely options in my opinion. New Asgard wouldn't be the most exciting to look at. Sakaar would be, but it would be an odd choice, same with the refuge ship. Endgame final battle is one a lot of people would want, but what would it be? A Hoth UCS type thing? Maybe some scenery paired with Sanctuary II could work. I'm very excited to see how it turns out, regardless.
  25. I hope to see some kind of architecture, but agree that the Gauntlet is something I can see them doing. Also, I just got hold of the new Captain America minifigure from the new mech sets while the site was down. Great little figure, love the detail and it's good to finally have his helmet piece (I know it's not new but this is the first time I've owned it), which looks better in hand than I thought it would!
