First find out when they open doors for the mall, not the listed hours. For example at my mall, the hours state the mall opens at 10 but the guard usually opens the doors around 9:20. So I usually aim to get to the mall at 9:00 and stake out just in case there’s a crowd but it’s usually not the case. This usually gets me in the very front of the line. It helped a lot when the Indiana Jones sets went on sale and there was such limited stock, I got all of them with ease. In your case I’d show up 8:30 since you don’t when the guard unlocks the door for extra insurance. Most of the time, I’m out the Lego store itself by 10:15/10:30. This wait is definitely going to be one of the tougher ones imo. We have our first Republic Gunship and Ghost in 10 years so I’m assuming the Star Wars boys will be out in full force which will definitely add to the line. And given the general popularity of Gringotts’s, I’m personally a bit worried how this one plays out. Diagon Alley had some long lines and that’s without the centerpiece and Star Wars sets. But that’s the fun of it, you never know what you getting.

Nice looking gwp, as if I needed one more reason to buy Gringotts day one, here’s reason number 327. I can never have enough goblins.
-
Yeah I saw that just right after I posted lol, hopefully she can post it soon. I’m really looking forwards to see how Gringotts looks with the rest of Diagon Alley in the flesh without being smack dab right in the middle like in the lifestyle photo. September 1st can’t come soon enough!

I just want a Gringotts review, I’m dying over here
-
Right now the only one I’m really waiting for besides Durmstrang Ship is the Lovegood House. Huge fan of the sets like The Burrow and 12 Grimmauld Place so I think that would be a nice spiritual successor.

Now this…this makes me happy. Forbidden Forest style set return? Leeetttssss Goooooooo
-
Looks as good as I imagined it, thanks for making the edit!
-
Word, thanks for the idea of completely removing the pet shop totally going to do it because it’s such a thrown together build, it doesn’t fit the vibe of the rest of the street. That’s really my only complaint of this set, besides that it’s a stunner.
-
I wonder if the wall portion on the left of Gringotts is able to connect to Olivanders in the straight line format because that’s the way I would ideally display it and the mine cart would be displayed separately.
-
Woooowww I think this might be my favorite Harry Potter set ever, it’s so visually striking and grand.
-
Can’t wait!!! This last wave was so disappointing to me so fingers crossed Gringott’s delivers in spades.

Gunship leaks are out! Blurry but you get a good view of the set and though smaller the color scheme is phenomenal. -

Wow Yavin IV is such a big let down, it’s ridiculous. Should have made it a MBS, this feels so half baked in the build department. -
As someone who only buys the Ninjago City modulars, got to say I’m not a huge fan of the City Markets. There’s way too much empty space between the two buildings and I have no idea how this has more than a 1,000 pieces more than the Gardens and is $70 more. I remembered being absolutely stunned everytime a new Ninjago modular is released, this left me feeling kinda empty to be quite fair.

Nice, I look into contacting Customer Service. Appreciate y’all.

Anyone know of any way to get a specific numbered step of a Lego set? I’m missing Bag 4 of Hospital Wing, threw out by mistake and I need it now after seeing the new combined Hogwarts.
-
OH NO HE’S HOT! THE COMBINED HOGWARTS IS GORGEOUS. I hate this, it’s making reconsider my stance on not buying the Green roof addition.

It’s really funny to me that the best sets are the two brick built creatures this year when I usually prefer the play sets. Harry got new arm printing on his signature blue jacket and Lupin’s grey outfit is finally done justice. And the Patronus build is really cool. Dobby is great as well.

Sirius’s Black Escape is easily the worst set so far and it’s not even close. For the Green Roofs, the focus was supposed to be on interiors and it’s absolutely barren. The courtyard itself is literally non existent. There’s no new minifigs or variants besides wait for it…dirt markings. And Buckbeak isn’t a new creature, I really don’t like the new colors they did for him either. On top of that it’s $50 for 345 pieces or absolutely nothing. Just compare this one to the new Room of Requirements which are exactly the same price and it’s night and day. I have a lot of nostalgia for the original too because it’s the first Lego set I ever built so it’s even more painful how lackluster it is. I may not like some other sets like the new WWW or Icons but at least for what they trying to go for is somewhat accomplished.

The Dobby set is absolutely adorable that is absolute objective fact. I simply won’t hear otherwise.
-
Oooohhh nice definitely want Narcissa if she’s included. I’ll bricklink her and Rita Skeeter for my pickups this Summer. Still want that doofus Cormac eventually tho.

I gotta say the Hogwarts Express is really pretty had I not purchased the Collector’s Edition or the 2018 I definitely would have picked it up. And for $120, I think what you get here is a lot. The Patronus is pretty good sized as well and since the 2019 piece is my favorite Lego piece ever, I’m definitely tempted. Especially if there’s a new Lupin variant. Dobby is definitely more smaller than I was expecting. Battle of Hogwarts I’m not buying because im sticking with the 2018 system. I really do wonder if WWW comes on a baseplate (seems like the same size as predecessor) or not if they are doing this new line of DA. If it does and you can add any future DA sets to the D2C, that would be pretty cool but I highly doubt. But this new one doesn’t bring much to the table itself besides rumored Cormac. Just waiting on Gringott’s now.

I said it at the beginning of the theme’s initial rebirth but I just don’t think the theme is evergreen in terms of material . People will always eat up anything Harry Potter of course but the universe isn’t expansive enough and seeing we pretty much got everything essential in five years time just shows it’s lack of longevity. If it was up to me, admittedly I don’t have any of the expertise or foresight of the Lego group, I just would have done a five year plan. 2021 would have been Deathly Hallows with the Hogwarts expansion being the bridge and boathouse to add on to the 2018 line. Hog’s Head, Lovegood House, Ministry of Magic, 2011 Forbidden Forest remake, Lake of Dean. The Forbidden Forest sets are some of my favorites in this line so seeing them go was sad. D2C would be Gringotts still don’t get why they did the owl. So that would cover pretty much all of DH. Then 2022 would be catchup sets. So Durmstrang Ship, Second Task, Shrieking Shack, Inferi Cave, 12 Grimmauld Place, First Year Detention to introduce a new Unicorn and Fang molds. Hot take D2C would still be the Hogwarts Express to conclude our multi film/book journey. And that would be the end of the theme for me. A limited run to cover all the basis.

I’m just laughing at the familiar faces section that talks about iconic characters yet they include the Hovitos Warrior over the literal main antagonist of the first film in Belloq.
-
Yeah I don’t buy the end of Hogwarts. There’s already what four iterations in 5 years time (2018 OG, 2018 micro scale, 2021, and 2023 grounds). So I’d assume they are selling and they make what sells. I personally don’t care for the reboot either way at this point. Hollywood is so bankrupt on ideas so it was bound to happen. My only fear is the precedent it may set going forward. Like remaking HP as a tv show I can somewhat mentally justify even though I’ll never watch it because of the added content of the books. But if they start remaking A New Hope or Raiders of The Lost Ark or Rocky or anything like that, I’m really not going to like that. As impact for sets, I’m just doing what I’ve been doing since last year. I’ll just buy what I want and ignore the rest, because it’s no longer a collectible theme like it used to be.
