LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
RODDY replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I’m surprised it took them so long to realize this fact, maybe the Jedi Bob circle jerking finally wore off but I actually agree with them. I would literally take anything regardless of what movie or TV show it comes from over a dark Millennium Falcon or a Jedi Bob starfighter. Sets based on an upcoming TV show only an handful of people are going to watch. Especially with it being the The Phantom Menace’s 25th birthday and the only system scale set we have is the Sith Infiltrator which I loved but I want more. -
What a shame with the limited run, the crocodile ruin is every what I imagined for a small set for an Adventurers reboot.
-
Has any one found any comparisons out there between the 2018 Great Hall and the 2023 Great Hall? Trying to gauge a size on this bad boy to see if I’m willing to sink $200 for it.
-
I keep looking over the photos of the Durmstrang Ship and I’m just so in love….Like I knew it was going to be good but this just blows my mind every time I see it.
-
Lego shop says June 1st for all the sets at least here in the states
-
Indeed it is, you can see a little grey sticking out which I assume is the third snake handle.
-
Yooooooo the Durmstrang Ship looks glorious!!!! Love the crazy shaping of it and the minifig selection is superb! Also dig all the new shield pieces. Instabuy.
-
Not really confirmed yet but since all of the other sets from the survey have been confirmed will be releasing or have already been released, chances for The Burrow D2C are really high, like 90%.
-
Dang, I rescind everything I said about the Great Hall prior, this is such a beaut from the outside! I’ll still probably wait to see the final layout with future additions before picking it up, but this looks wonderful. I imagine the eventual main tower they make to with this is going to be magnificent.

Another year, another wave of just getting the minifigs. Love Malkin and the Troll. I’m really disappointed with the Great Hall cause I’m not seeing almost double the value of the Chamber of Secrets or Great Hall. Fingers crossed Durmstrang Ship is killer.
-
The Durmstrang Ship is probably the only thing I’m eagerly anticipating in this entire wave. Fingers crossed it’s a decent size with Beauxbaton’s Carriage being included. Also can’t wait for Karkaroff and Barty Crouch Sr., I’m sure they’ll deliver. Oddly enough I’m also intrigued by Madam Malkins and how well it scales with the big DA. I feel like it might go well next to the Magical Menagerie. Not excited for the new Hogwarts because I’m sure it’s gonna look amazing and I don’t need anymore encouragement to buy a third Hogwarts expansion.

HYPE TRAIN FOR THR BARGE IS BACK ON THE TRACKS BOYS!!!!! I’m so excited that while the mini figure lineup isn’t perfect, between the two sets you get the key players and I’m so excited to get my hands on a Max Reebo. The Barge for me is my favorite Star Wars vehicle, so seeing it get the UCS treatment is sublime. -

Was already sold on the Sith Infiltrator but now that Saw is not Granny Smith green, it’s a must buy. -

I personally actually like the Sith Infiltrator. While it’s a bit smaller than the last one and of course proportions are gonna be a bit affected by it, the detailing is there. I think it’s leagues better than all of them except the last one. But the last one was $90 USD back in 2015 which is like $120 now so it’s like near double the price of this bad boy. So I think given the big price discrepancy, the new one is a good deal imo. Same argument for the minifig debate, there’s four minifigs in the 2015 one and there’s three in this one (considering Saw is a bonus), so for a $50 drop off it’s not bad and in range with The Night Buzzard (cool name). Biggest problem for me is the eyes of Maul. So in totality I think the set is fine, I just don’t like Legos approach to these anniversaries where you only get like one system scale set for them and the rest are just dioramas and brickheads which I have no interest in. I think if there were more TPM system scale sets where Padme and Panaka could show up like a Flash Speeder or a Gungan Sub which also add more color to all these grey sets, people wouldn’t be complaining about it. I think they could of done a couple more TPM sets instead of a Dark Millennium Falcon or Jedi Bob’s Starfighter. -
For the changing out portion from different films my hope is for tables with the blue cloth and moon prints so we could finally get the Dueling Club. Also gives us another Lockhart variant which I need more of!

I agree that I don’t buy it yet, just wanted to see how y’all feel. I’ll buy it once somebody reliable backs it up. But I don’t necessarily feel that a spring wave followed by a summer wave the following year isn’t unheard of. Lego Harry Potter was originally just Summer for the first couple years. Maybe they want it to coincide with the video game. Yeah the film bombing isn’t great news but the sets seem to be selling and the whole Temple of Doom backlash so maybe these sets are meant to hold us over till next year where they do a new batch of the trilogy. Maybe they aren’t Indy 5 sets at all. But like I said I’m not really onboard either, just playing devils advocate and being slightly hopeful borderline naive.
-
What’s the credibility of klockinnews.pl, cause they are claiming that 4 sets that were supposed to release last year are releasing this year.
-
Wow the Great Hall being double the piece count of 2018 one is very tempting ngl, I’m really curious to see how they do this one since the last one was pretty near perfect in my mind. Stoked Durmstrang Ship is finally getting remade, but I didn’t really need the Beauxbaton’s Carriage with it since I have the last one. Feel a bit chaffed about this ngl, dropping $140 on a set that I won’t use half of isn’t ideal at all. But I do want to complete my second task scene, so I will do what I must. Hopeful to get Karkaroff, Crouch, and a new Krum Variant with this. Cool to see Madam Malkins get the Lego treatment but I wish it was for the D2C Diagon Alley scale. The rest are meh for me. I do wish The Ford Angelia came with younger versions of twins since we are getting another Aragog’s lair with repeat minifigs.
-
Besides another Battle of Hogwarts set, I think the only other set he could appear in is the Hogs’ Head.
-
I’m just very curious on what the $200 set is. Feel like the $140 set would be the flagship Great Hall and since it’s not The Burrow, I have the slightest clue what it could be. Could this be the Knight Bus that was rumored for last year? Has a similar piece and price point to the London Bus.
-
If any of the minifigs make it for sale, I’m getting popcorn ready to see the prices on those bad boys.
-
So I guess the voodoo doll from the the canceled Temple of Doom set is on EBay. That’s pretty cool.
-
Cedric is not the most exciting character sure, but I’ll take more Second Task characters any day of the week. Hopefully this means we’ll get Fleur too maybe in a Dumstrang Ship.
-
Good thinking! Now I can I be a man of principle, a man of my word.
-
I know, I know I swore off remakes but man this Hagrid’s Hut is spectacular! Love all the new variants of trio and Hagrid and finally Fang and Norbert! I want to say I’m not going to buy it but I probably am. And the Owlery is packed with new owls, wasn’t really too excited for this one but the build looks great and would pair well with the 2018-2020 Hogwarts lineup I have on display. New Cho Chang is always nice too. Definitely buying those two, the rest probably not.
