  1. The above is true. Siercon and Coral of the Mystic Isles often just watch from a distance, and most always show up late... But there are strong rumors that they will ride on the Dragon Flight. A personal ultimatum has been given to the Drow, to determine the amount of blood we will spill. Regardless, the Mystic Isles will have a presence on that border.
  2. There are wars, and there are rumors of wars... And the Faerie Forest is stirring. If one seeks to conquer the world, has he chosen to be the master of the Mystic Isles? We Siercon and Coral are Avalonians to be sure. Still, we often find contentment in passively watching the world turn around us. We now hold a scroll of summoning. It is a request from Artorious to take part in the Dragon Flight. We will ride. Attack Avalonia and we must oppose you. Attack the Mystic Isles, and blood will be spilled. Now tell us Drow... Is this true? Do you lay claim to mystic islands you've never seen? Your answer will change the sharpness of our blade. You have 1 day. - S&C (P.S. ::Stepping out of character:: I'm glad some of you are making this interesting. Always need someone to distribute some smack talk and war with good sportsmanship :)
  3. Thanks! Though we assume it's because we're a married couple and build as much as we can together :) Awesome, thanks a ton! A high honor and compliment :) Awe thanks for the compliment, its nice seeing old faces/commenters. We try to remember as many people as we can, especially those who where so very helpful at the beginning. So thank you. Yes. Indeed. What you said :)Thanks again guys!
  4. All fabulous entries! 7: 1 11: 2 15: 1 16: 1
  5. Bandit 1 And the sets LRDark listed are correct :)
  6. "The Jedi were our most worthy adversaries. They fought to the final man. Many of our warriors died to secure their defeat. But with the fall of their holy regime, a new force will write history. Power and brute strength will define the future."
  7. How about a duplo vig :) 16 studs... But still larger than a 32x32 baseplate lol.
  8. We love trees and plants... Being an environmental scientist I'd love to help. I know we've explored a large variety of real and fantasy trees feel free to look through out flickr. I wont post several dozen photos here, but you can use any of ours. The difficulties with a list like this is it will get huge. Then once your done with trees, your looking at 'Understory' and 'Herbaceous'... shrubs and flowers... Quite the daunting task. But this is definitely something we're interested in and have been accumulating on the side. One thought we've been considering is to organize the plants by environment. Swamp plants, Mountain, Evergreen, Deciduous, Dessert, prairie... Just a thought :) Let us know if you need any help.
  9. Here's a couple things we find most useful for any type of topography. Use a tone of 'garbage' pieces to build up the stability. Most high volume mocs in the castle theme have a lot of red pieces at their center. So build as much as you can with red, and then glaze it with gray or green. The rock link is very helpful. We most always use 'Burps' and 'Lurps' in our buildings and coat the outside with smaller slopes. Green hills... I have yet to see anyone do this particular technique, but I think it would be novel and a nice design if someone made a 'SNOT' semisphere hill. The shape (perhaps even peanut)could vary greatly, and the option of building the building studs up and walls/fence studs out is very appealing. I think that would be worth the effort. Lastly dont forget to add in extra detail in the ground. Things like Dark gray rocks near water (as if wet), plants, sand or dirt paths, and always plan at least a brick depth if attempting a stream. For larger hills some people even mix in tan and brown to show the various soil layers in exposed cliff sides :) (Blake's 'Amon Hen')
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGI38w0HhPA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzv4rcid7gE Here's two excellent church fight scenes (these specifically where what I had in mind for the atmospheric feel :) Again awesome job. (also i totally didnt have sound on when i watched the videos to make sure they were the right ones... so lol hopefully the sound is ok.)
  11. Strait up fabulous. I've always had a fondness for those kind of mech-warrior type knights, and you did them very well! Nice touch with the oriental hat. The building pulled off perfectly that 'Tifa Final Fantasy' church ruins look. Great job! :D
  12. Good question. Personally, Steph and I keep everything together. It's difficult to continue building knowing pieces you 'had' are now locked into various MOCs. But you can slowly get used to it. We first started doing this when we wanted to make a whole village/castle/world and realized you simply have to be consistent and slowly chip away at building an entire realm one house at a time. It's hard but I think its totally worth it. We'll try to post a video of the world sometime in the future.
  13. Humm we have Mountains, axes, wine, and women. Unfortunately we don't really get snow, and aren't partial to bearded women. So guess your on your own ;) But while your here stay a bit and have some of our famous BlakeBaery Wine :)
  14. Here's a little cottage with not so little blackberries! So at the end of a hard days work head on over to Mamma Blakes for your your own BlakeBaery feast including muffins, popsicles, and lemonade! Careful though at the heart of every one of these magic blackberries is a ruby gem. Jewels to some people, and magic seeds to others. But though many people have tried, no one can grow them quite like her :) BlakeBaery Garden Enjoy!
  15. Thanks everyone for your comments. Glad you like'm, it's nice making something more gory every once and awhile. Thanks guys! Here is the piece used to connect the aligator tail cactus. Three of these in green.: Here is the piece used to connect the aligator tail cactus. Three of these in green. in case your interested. I really appreciate all of your comments! Thanks again!
  16. Just in case you were starting to think everything in our lego room was faeries, flowers and puppy dog tails :) And here's a close up... bottom jaw anyone? ;) Thanks for looking!
  17. Thanks everyone for the awesome comments and encouragement! I know! :,( I wish we were more active as well. Terribly sorry. Some moron (me) thought it would be brilliant to sign up for the MOCathalon. (Clarification, we like MOCpages and the competition. The 'moron' is referring to us not having much time lol) But we wont remain dormant, nor abandon our Faerie Forest until we aid Avalonia with more strength to fight against any Invaders! Feel free to use anything you'd like from our Flikr :) Happy to help, and if you think of it we are always grateful for a credit. Thanks guys! Yeah Steph and I just realized this a week ago. Sadly still trying to learn the ins and outs of this very rich site :) Your encouragement means a lot! Again, thanks everyone!
  18. Sorry it's been awhile! But we have not forgotten about our lands of Avalonia in the shroud of the Mystic Isles. We find it funny that we are supposed to look for green/gems treasure considering our last moc lol. And this is gonna be slightly off topic as well, but either way we hope to continue painting an Avalonian picture of the Mystic Isles. There are magic crystals our forestmen seek to find... But they are Red and grow from the giant magic fire flower... hope it works for the challenge but regardless here's another MOC ;D And here is the link to the Eurobricks thread :) Enjoy!
  19. Here's a magical portion of our forest! This was made for the Fairy Tale category of the MOCathalon, and the land of Avalonia. This is haven where faeries ride on little fireflies, and weave in an out of giant beautiful flowers. The fireflies glow! Here's a close up of one of the faeries and flower types. Hope you guys like it!

You still have time :) hope to see you there! Follow the original contest photo for instructions on how to enter.
  21. [pid][/pid] Miniscale MOCs 4A Here's a micro ship Steph and I made! Hope ya like it, we were doing our best to cram as much detail into as little a space as possible. We really just wanted to make an intricate model ship. This one started from the cannons and quickly evolved when we figured out how to construct a micro wooden deck. Be sure to check out the detail shots to see individual planks, stairs, micro cannons, stern, and rigging! Thanks! Here is a close up shot showing the the lower and upper decks, cannons, stairs and rigging. :) And micro cannons with their tiny wheels. And finally here is a shot of the stern. Hope you guys like it! :D
  22. Thanks for the post! :D Just wanted to let people know that she's purist, the piece comes in the harry potter set #4752 Again thanks! :) The creatures list looks very helpful. And Micah has been very influential, and I wouldnt mind considering the Unicorn a Micah offshoot :D considering I used his horse as a base.
  23. It's always hardest the first time you separate them. They are technically looser if you place them back together but they are very secure and function fully as they were intended. :) Thanks everyone glad this helped!
  24. A question was posed on Flickr and I thought it was worth a response. Here is a short video on how I learned as a kid to separate bionicle heads. hope this helps some people :D Side note, the remaining pieces are wonderful to use in a variety of MOCs! VIDEO
  25. Thank you! Honored by the complement and grateful to be building next to people who have 500X the amount of posts we have made :P Thank you :) and... you would think it's fragile, but its very strong. I was surprised myself. The truth is you fear more for the skeletal arm breaking from being too tight than the legs being fragile. The most fragile part is the connection to the 2x1 modified plate.Again thanks everyone!
