  1. Love the lighthouse!
  2. This is fantastic P! I'm a sucker for buildings that light-up, and this one is "top-notch". I love all of the incredible details outside. You've done a terrific job at rendering the LEMAX ornament in LEGO. I've gotten a few ideas from these villages in the past myself. Great colors, and nice use of the white plates for snow. I hope to see the interior of this one. Front-paged!
  3. "Oh no, they be stealing me sleigh"! Santa yells outside his North Pole workshop. Aside from the missing sleigh, town fan Pooky builds an incredible LEGO rendition of a LEMAX Christmas ornament, Santa's Workshop. The highly detailed structure also lights-up for added fun, and check out the use of the Moroccan Fez pieces for the elves -very clever! -Make sure to leave the light ON.
  4. Thanks Sandy - I appreciate that. It's all about imagination, using the pieces that you have. That last head looks a bit odd to me - are those green eyes?
  5. Thanks for the early review Mariann A. I really applaud LEGO for creating a licensed Western set. At the same time, I do wish that the minifigs were more along the standard height, especially the horse. The jail doors will certainly be nice for a saloon. I like the medium blue windows as well. Some interesting aspects, although it's definately not Wild West (at least not in the classic LEGO form).
  6. Yes, I had considered, but did not want to open the little gift set it came with.
  7. Thnaks for the feedback guys. The town is coming along nicely. Definately - at least a few. There's already a new one to replace it. You got it. Since you asked (nice idea) CLICK ME Thanks - it's even better up close. Pictures never do it justice. More to come...
  8. A few additional minifigs to populate my Mexican Village:
  9. Very nice Timura. I like the the torso design you selected for the troops. The classic fireman torso looks very nice as well and integrates nicely with the troops. I used the same torso for my Confederate Naval officers as well. I'm not a historian, but these look really good. I've been looking for some different ideas for my Mexican Army - you've given me one more idea.
  10. Are you ready for some fun flying action? LEGO Town fan Daoudbazaar brings EB an early review of the 2010 set 3178 Sea Plane. This little aircraft is certainly a nice addition to the wonderful 2010 City line-up; and as always, you can see it right here on Eurobricks.
  11. Thanks SlyOwl, but actually the flag is real. I just enhanced the color a bit (and removed some lettering on the white). You can see it here as well. I've used this custom flag in a few past creations.
  12. I'm wondering if you can add one layer of plates at the end of the roof to make them more sturdy.
  13. Nice job on the wall (although it could benefit from a window/slit in the straight section). I esp. like the fountain and the large tree. Neat scene overall.
  14. Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't know. Although I was a little hesitant to use them, take a look at the soldiers as pictured from the last Alamo movie:
  15. I've completed four structures for my Mexican Village and thought I would share an image so far. I still have a few more additions; but unfortunately, I did have to take apart the Spanish Mission for parts. It was a lot larger than the other structures in the town and took a number of needed pieces. So, here's the Mexican "Town with No Name" so far. It includes: Rosa's Cantina Pueblo Hideout Arms Traders Soldiers Outpost Masked Rider Mexican Church Mexican Church Expanded Bandito Brothers Ox Cart Senor Palomar's Hacienda Army Patrol Plaza de Toros Video 1/18/2010 12/31/09 12/14/09 12/12/09
  16. The bright red roof is definately the result of a strong night-time flash. As I said above, I didn't want to retake the image and have to edit again. The color is standard red like the roof used for Rosa's Cantina. The lions were an after-thought addition, and I don't really like the way they protrude so far as well - so I agree with you on this one Rick. However, the tower is not meant to be a prison or jail, but rather I just used the bars for an entry gate (which I actually like). This is actually one of my favorites from the Old Mexico collection so far -maybe the picture doesn't do it justice.
  17. Welcome LTF. I've been looking forward to seeing you post here. I'm glad you're part of our EB LEGO Train Community. My Dark Ages lasted through some of the fantastic 9V trains as well; however, I was able to pick up 3225 Classic Train on Ebay during my Wild West re-entry into LEGO. It's a great little set. I just wish I had picked up more of these earlier 9V sets before the prices climbed so high. The Super Chief is a fantastic locomotive. I've got the SC and a number of my trains displayed on some shelves with limited table space. Now I can look at them every day. Unfortunately, dust is an issue. In any case, welcome.
  18. Very nice Aawsum. You really did a nice job at creating the real life train in LEGO. I like the front end with the use of the classic black train windows. Eight wide certainly gives you a lot of opportunity for added detail. Nice color combination. Now you need to make some custom "VOS Logistics" decals just like the real deal. Great job!
  19. Very nice. I absolutely love that roof design. -I may try that myself.
  20. It has, but it's never too late. The more people that express an interest within the LEGO community, the better the chances at seeing the theme return. Just look at Pirates for an example. It took many years, but LEGO eventually offered the theme again; short lived, but we saw the theme return. Keep writing those letters, providing LEGO input, and commenting on Western topics. We'll see it. On a side note, I heard that Playmobil may be returning to the Western line in 2011 with an El Paso theme. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but just as LEGO fans want Wild West again, Playmobil fans do as well. This is one more hope that Western/Wild West is becoming popular again. Let's just hope LEGO jumps on the wagon.
  21. How about sharing some pictures?
  22. This next Old Mexico creation drifts away from the Outlaws/Banditos and residential buildings incorporating new Pirates as the Mexican Army. This MOC was a bit difficult to photograph well due to the height, and the picture was taken late last night. After photo-editing, I didn't want to re-take again starting from scratch. So I present Soldiers Outpost:
  23. Hi Efullner. Welcome to Eurobricks and Train Tech. We're glad to have you join our LEGO Train Community. Please share some images of your collection if you'd like.
