  1. As part of EB Fellow Sandy's Queens' Quest LEGO comic, she has built this amazing Cottage of the Three Witches. A nice building design, great colors, and a multitude of details makes this creation one beautiful and ornate cottage.
  2. I just wanted to acknowledge the fact that the Trains & Town forum (including Train Tech) had the highest number of topic views in 2009. That means we beat Pirates! Special thanks to WhiteFang, Dave, Hinckley, and Shadows (and others if I missed them) for maintaining Classic-Town.net, which I'm sure has drawn a number of viewers to the forum. And a big THANK YOU to all of the Trains & Town fans who continue to share image reviews and post interesting topics related to trains & town. So on behalf of T&T, Happy New Year! Let's make 2010 even better. EDIT: Oh, and I almost forgot to mention our fellow Global Moderators who continue to make sure T&T topics and the forum run smoothly.
  3. Welcome to EB gt1fan, but anytime you want opinions on a set, check the Trains & Town Review Index. It has over 270 reviews and most of the sets released in the last few years.
  4. Great little set (and one I don't own). Thanks for reviewing, but your images are way too large. Please resize to no larger than 640x480 per site guidelines.
  5. Fantastic! I've always wanted to make a LEGO tank, but never tried. I love the thought of a green tank to go with the Toy Story soldiers, and this one is a great. I also like how you pictured the soldiers with the trees/landscape. Nice job!
  6. Thanks guys! I've taken a picture with the last addition to the Mexican Village, Senor' Palomar's Hacienda. I'll share a few more raw images before final break-down.
  7. Last week I attempted to build a large tower and Market Place for my Mexican Village. While I did complete the tower, it seemed way too large for the existing village (compared to other structures), and seemed to take on an almost Middle Eastern-look. I ended up scapping the tower today to build my latest addition to the village. I now have very few arches left, as well as windows, as well as white and tan bricks, and brown plates (using black for this creation). I was almost ready to take down the entire village today, but thought I would create this last building. After a recent visit to Santa Barbara, California, I was inspired to go back to the Spanish style architecture to create this final creation, Senor' Palomar's Hacienda, which I am now pleased with:
  8. Neat little set - but please resize your images to site guidelines (640x480 max). In addition, your first image is so blurry, one can not appreciate the great details of the minifig.
  9. It's great to be part of this fantastic site. Happy New Year everyone!
  10. Just as an FYI: I will be out Dec 27th - 30th. I hope to pick up the story somewhere on Devil's Island.
  11. Sorry Batbrick, I missed your question. Mine came from Knights Kingdom 6094 Guarded Treasure. The set isn't too good, but it has a few nice parts (like these). I also used them for my Grimwell Manor:
  12. Moved to Train Tech.
  13. Thank you DJ -yes, you are certainly correct. There's nothing to be scared of (at least not yet). (Grabs Johnson Rod tightly) We're all gonna die! (someone slaps Johnson's face!) We're all gonna die!(SLAP!) Okay - I'm confident that we'll make it through this. (grabs Johnson Rod tighter) (begins dancing to an Old School favorite:)
  14. Very nice Ashi - thanks for sharing. It's great to see your Hungarian train running in the snow, although I must admit that I'd be a little scared to place it there. Great colors and a overall, a very nice design.
  15. Nice -thanks for sharing. Welcome Ashi. We're glad to have you. Your new passenger train looks fantastic.
  16. FLASHBACK... I remember the first year Star Wars came out (New Hope). I wasn't at all into the action figures, but many of the kids on the block got Star Wars for Christmas. One of the earliest sets was the Hasbro Kenner landspeeder with Luke and Obi Wan figures sold separately. This reminds me of that early set. -Nice streamlined design and great color selection. Very nice!
  17. (has a foreshadowing vision from everyone's all-time favorite suspense thriller, Mystery Ship) -Runs out of bus onto ferry deck yelling... "we're all gonna die, we're all gonna die"!
  18. Thanks Jipay. That's nice of you to say.
  19. Despite the obvious missing cowboy from the festive yuletide greeting, Merry Christmas to all!
  20. (After removing an oxygen mask from face, advises that in the event of an emergency landing, your seat may be used as a floatation device)
  21. Thanks fellas. Yes, I wasn't real fond of the lion heads on the tower either. I think they look much better on the church. This project was also more fun than the Confederates, and I'm very pleased with the village so far. I may still add a bit more. Thanks Zorbas. The video was just a quick thought. I'm sure I could have made it a lot better, but it does offer a more detailed look at the town. That's great. I think there's a lot more opportunity with Wild West than Cowboys and Cavalry. In re. to this WIP: I was running out of space after adding the the ox cart, so I've since expanded the town once again placing the building farther apart and adding a few more tan baseplates. I'll snap some new pictures soon. Thanks again for all the wonderful feedback that; as always, encourages me to keep building. This has been a fun project.
  22. This is fantastic! Very nice balance of colors, combined with outstanding details. The main building looks perfect in my opinion. I love the use of the dark tan plates that really add detail. The domed piece (is that from the Orient Expedition balloon set?) combined with the castle-like buttress (for lack of a better name), looks excellent. -Fine details used inside as well. Do you plan to make any more buildings to create a village by chance? Overall, very nice. I think this deserves a front-page!
  23. At first glance, you might think that this MOC is a Prince of Persia set; however, this creation is much more detailed. TinyPiesRUs brings EB the first glimpse of his Marrakesh Marketplace. With white, light tan, dark tan, and a subtle balance of brown and red, the scene has all the makings of a "top notch" MOC. His creation certainly inspires one to create a flourishing desert city.
