  1. Tough crowd! Welcome. I once knew this guy from there, his name was Schmelt. -had a lot of that "Euro-wit". In any case, we'll be on the bus for a while so we might as well make the best of it. (begins making shadow puppets when the bus turns eastward). (whispers in microphone) And that ladies and gentlemen is known as a "Grouchosaurus".
  2. Ouch... we seem to have a heckler in the crowd. Now, now Red, I'll have no Negative Nancy's on one of my tours. Britain, you don't say? Great country and lots of history. Big Ben, Windsor Castle, White Cliffs of Dover, great history indeed. -the sort of stuff that LEGO fans would build & blog in a World Adventure over on that web site, Classic-Town.net. (looking strangely at William Falcon).
  3. (climbs aboard the bus and picks up antiquated microphone holding it close to his mouth) Testing 1 2 3... (blows in microphone) Testing 1 2 3. Hello everyone. I'm Johnson Willoughby, your tour guide. Where's everyone from out there? (places right hand on brow towards all as if looking toward a sunrise)
  4. Single file folks - single file. Let's all get aboard, slowly and safely, safely and slowly. Not so fast Red. (whispers to Hector: this one needs the "extra special search". Just make sure you don't pull the wig off). My apologies Big D - Lady D, Diana, whatever your name is. I was trapped in this dreadfully awful third world village and had to wait until they found the Johnson Rod to the Ox Cart, and hell, it's a long story. In any case, I'm here now and we'll be off soon. Hector, Hinckley, Randy... let's get'em checked so we can get this tour started. I think the tour may be just around three hours (strange ominous music and a flash of lighting booms from the sky).
  5. Now, now Siegourney. Let's play nice. You won't find any aliens on this bus, unless you count Tattoo Hector.
  6. That all depends on how much you tip Tattoo Hector. What'cha got in there anyway? You'd think you just came from the Orient with that bag.
  7. How could you not? - BIG Johnson Rod and all.
  8. I am Mr. Roarke Johnson Willoughby, your host, tour guide, Velcome to Fantasy Devil's Island. (I love saying that - and I'll definately say it again when we actually arrive on Fantasy Devil's Island) Now let us board the bus (smiles everyone, smiles).
  9. Meanwhile back at the old Mexican Village... Now that we've fixed the old Johnson Rod, we can finally get this cart moving.
  10. Those are pretty harsh words. I think that many builders get ideas from others' MOCs, but Selander has made many creations that are excellent. One can get a sense of how good a builder is by looking at the persons' other creations. I don't know the inspiration for these, but I don't think this builder has to copy from others. EDIT: but I definately see the similarity. The front-end loader looks almost the same as that of Pnorm's Brickshelf image. It looks like Steven Asbury is entitled to some credit for the design.
  11. Very nice Selander. I really like your building style, and you're very good at building these construction vehicles. Nice use of the LEGO sticker on the trailer. Front-paged! EDIT: Actually, I was talking about the long yellow and red stripe along the side, which I see is not a sticker at all. -Excellent use of pieces.
  12. Very nice. I must admit that I'm not that much into construction, but this is an impressive vehicle. I think you and Selander do a really nice job on vehicles like this. Now we can use this to help lift those logs to the train yard where 10013 Open Freight Wagon can take them away. Front-paged!
  13. The Trains & Town forum has been under construction lately, with amazing builders like Selander and M longer. Selander has built a Volvo Front-End Loader with Transport Truck as another addition to his collection of construction vehicles. M Longer has created a Tracked Skidder for pulling heavy logs, based on an actual Caterpillar 527 tracked skidder. You can check out both fantastic creations, as well as many others, in the Trains & Town forum.
  14. Hi there. Welcome to EB's Train Tech Grunneger. That's a very interesting introduction -thanks for sharing. I love those old German black & red locomotives. They remind me so much of Marklin HO-scale trains (from the 60s/70s). I've always wanted to build one of those fantastic engines. I think I may have seen some of your trains on Brickshelf before and/or the web. Your large layout sounds interesting; you'll just have to give your daughter some Duplo and have her help you out. In any case, welcome and I hope to see some of your future creations here in the Train Tech forum.
  15. That's some trick shoot'n. -very clever. But why would anyone go shoot'n $100 bills? In any case, great scene. I like the way you did the floor with three different colors.
  16. Nice job Coop. Love the cleaning of the graffiti. On a side note, I was on travel a few months ago and drove by a train yard. I was amazed at how every freight car was covered in graffiti. I thought to myself, this is sad.
  17. Thank you all for the feedback. Update 12/19/09: After adding my latest addition, Ox Cart, I wanted to create a video of the village. The attached is still being processed, but it gives you a better view of the entire scene:
  18. The Mexican Village would not be complete without a wagon, so this latest addition is an Ox Cart for a dirt farmer and his son. A picture from the Mexican Village: And some pictures of the secret compartment for hiding arms:
  19. Very nice architectural details, and a good color selection. I like the way you created the crosses and the extra details like the stain glass window in the back/side (from your FlickR image). Great job on this. Front-paged!
  20. As an entry for the CCCVII Eastern Medieval Life category, Castle fan Artizan creates this magnificent Orthodox Church:
  21. Nice review DarthPineapple. Thanks for sharing the early review (although the pictures are a bit large). This set looks like it has a high degree of playability. I like sets that offer multiple vehicles for land and water like this one. I've added a poll and front-paged. Nice!
  22. Trains & Town fan DarthPineapple brings EB a new review of the 2010 City set, 7213 Fire Truck with Boat. There's definately no fires in the Trains & Town forum with LEGO's 2010 Fire Fighting line-up, unless you count all the exciting reviews of these new sets.
