  1. Voting for the Clipper. I have this and the flagship but I like the larger hull on the Clipper and the blue sails.
  2. 38% Pirate, 14% Ninja. Now I'd like to take a dusty street full of pirates and ninjas, break out my six shooter, and blow some Lego holes in as many ninjas and pirates as I can before I get hit in the brick! I think Cowboys need to be added to the survey, but this has got to be the last pirate survey I'm taking. Who writes these things any how?
  3. PS. This is worse than the Clickit post!
  4. I'm having nightmares of being trapped in a Lego-built witch's castle being chased by five flying monkeys with battle axes!
  5. Need to create a poll for best avatar, that way we can easily see the votes.
  6. I had no issue with the original colors, and didn't mind the change except for train track which was Lego's WORST decision. They had to know that us train collectors have a lot of track in the old color. BAD! In fact, I need some more track and I haven't bought because I don't want anymore BLAY. It's like starting over.
  7. More detailed buildings like a new non-<insert that tiresome argument>/classic station, grain-tower, cargo loading platform with crane, general store, church, water tower, and a bridge. I've said this numerous times, but I would love to see Lego re-visit the Western theme and mix it with trains (as a Western train & town sub-theme). In addition, a Maersk freight/platform car would be great with maybe a semi truck to pull the container (which Lego released as only promotional before). I am also looking forward to rolling stock to go with the BNSF (maybe later this year if lego follows what it did with the Super Chief. The detail of these engines have been outstanding. As far as Harry Potter goes, I am looking forward to the cemetery. Looks like a neat set and Lego hasn't done a cemetery before.
  8. Lego SAH USA has the Tie Bomber (4479) reduced from $29.99 to $19.99. *devil*
  9. I didn't mention these other themes, but I think Lego has come a long way in the area of detail (not sure about Harry Potter- maybe the new sets), but definately trains, and others.
  10. very nice
  11. I think it's a nice set (even with the drooping wings).
  12. I liked these sets. I only have the re-release of the Armada Flagship (6291), but I'd love to see the Imperial Trading Post and some of these classic pirate sets re-released. This was a great theme that I always regreted not collecting.
  13. Agree, well, at least they're pursuing SW and I'm sure we'll see many new classic and Episode III sets. In addition, I'd really like to see some more trains for us "train heads".
  14. You definately know your pirate history.
  15. A while back on a different site (maybe Brickset), I remember reading some reviews about the last space shuttle set. It has an American flag on it and a few individuals took issue to the fact that the flag was American even though it was a NASA shuttle. Although I personally wouldn't have an issue with what nationality a set is associated with, it brought up a point that it may be better for Lego to stay away from nationality (like you've indicated), and stay with universal themes. I've always like GI Joe, army men, and the like, but when a global company like Lego starts building war sets that even resemble modern-day armies (in color, style, etc), it will stir up issues with certain people/nationalities. Secondly, I think of Lego as a company that has (or at least had) some traditional values that made them successful (these are pretty neat to read if you never have (like don't worry about how many you sell but by focussing on a quality product, the sales will come)). I like to know that there are companies that still have some of these values and qualities (although Lego has really changed over the past 10 years). Mega Blocks builds some neat army sets, tanks, bridges, etc. They do not identify nationality (or at least I don't think but not positive because I've never purchased one). But if I want army men and GI Joe, I'd go other routes; but Lego's mission has been about creating imagination in children. I hate to see this mission/value changed to include creating modern-day armies and wars. It's just my opinion, but I wouldn't want to see Lego making GI Joe, tanks, and armies. The new dinosaur theme is bad enough.
  16. Nice idea, but a strange mix. I'd rather see an adventurers train before pirates. I just can't imagine a pirate sacking a train full of silver...
  17. Just to take it once would be nice (if they listen to the input).
  18. One of the best things about Lego is that it's stayed away from War and Military (with some historic exceptions). Sure I like tanks, forts, and soldiers, but Lego has always been above this- may be their philosophy. Kids are exposed to enough violence and war and now that I'm older and wiser, I'd like to see less of it (esp in toys).
  19. I liked pirates but only scored 50%. I guess I've got to walk the plank!
  20. One additional comment, I believe I've completed two other surveys re. Lego in the last 1-2 years and didn't see the outcome. Surveys are great, but if you put one out, than share the results and listen to them.
  21. First, if Lego really wants input from AFOL, they need to do a better job at getting the survey out (ie. their own web site, mail, etc). I missed this completely and I frequent many Lego sites. 2nd, re. the question about trying to get more money for sets; my response: Lego is expensive enough already and shouldn't think about trying to ask more $$$. How about making sets more affordable with the same quality? 3rd, What should Lego be doing now that it isn't now? 1) NEVER change colors of existing older parts. 2) Too much product diversity. 3) and most important, return to traditional Lego business philosophies/values (ie. quit chasing market share and concentrate on quality products and the values that made Lego what it is today). Agree with most of your responses Bloody Jay with a few exceptions (including above and what new sets they should make - would like to see Western Civil/War added to the historic list as well as more trains/train buildings).
  22. I'm still trying to see the angel/praying person in the cheeto...?
  23. Yes, I bought it Apr 2. It's a very nice fig and from what I heard from friends is that it's also the hardest to find. The reason we're talking about Grievous vs. Clickits is because even non-Lego Grievous is a better topic than Clickits... *devil*
  24. Enjoy your youth for as long as you can and don't be ashamed of your hobby- esp. when you have friends to enjoy it with. Clickits I'm not sure about, ha, ha. But as an AFOL, I wish I could still enjoy sets like I did when I was younger. It's different now- still fun, but not the same. There's nothing wrong with playing, collecting, etc, as long as you like it. And know that those same kids that are going to the dances and trying to be cool will end up very different as they get older.
