6799 Showdown Canyon (a two-pack) included one: -
That is huge! very nice.

The guarded inn and the blacksmith shop make for great sea-side buildings (having used them myself): And another set (swap out the pink), would be Dolphin Point, to make that old lighthouse/tower to signal those awaiting ships: And many of the Divers sets for their shipwrecks.
-
Sponge Bob: a perfect theme for 'lots of rubber pieces and 4+ elements. The cost savings to make will balance the licensing fees. Bring back the classics that didn't need licenses! I hate to say this, but lego is turning in to Mega Blocks with decisions like this.

Pretty nice S&S. It's a big layout. I like the use of the light green pieces and the right side with the evaporators/towers. Where's the dewback and speeder?

1970 does remind me of 6790: I think I do recall an old western with a balloon. -
Non-Wild West Sets good for WW Theme

Maybe someone will, but it won't be me. I've got a pretty good collection of SW sets, but I'm not in to it like Wild West and Trains. -
Since the Wild West theme only ran for a couple of years, and the number of sets were rather limited, I thought I would start a list of other sets that can be added or used for the Wild West theme (some I have and others not). Feel free to add yours. - Wild West Scene 365: one of Lego's earliest Wild West sets complete with a number of small western buildings and a cardboard baseplate. PIC - Classic Train 3225: a classic little train with a small engine that makes a good mining train. Set also includes a tipper, coach, and gondola. The gondola is good for transporting Army cargo. The coach makes a good car to create a train robbery (roof that lifts off and open door frames on both end). PIC - Graveyard Duel 4766: a great set for adding a graveyard to your Wild West town. This set also includes a spooky tree for a good hanging, and a number of graves to build a Boot Hill graveyard. Also included is a fence to put around your western church, and a good wagon that you can use for anything. PIC - Johny Thunder and Baby T 5903: swap the wheels with some wagon wheels, and you've got a great prospector. PIC - Mike's Swamp Boat 5912: great western fig. PIC - River Expedition 5976: a good steam ship if you build an ocean-side western town. This set also includes Senor Palomar (white suited fig with white cowboy hat), and a ship captain that makes a good WW fig. PIC - Outback Airstrip 6444: a great little set on a tan baseplate. This set includes a great western-style windmill, and a nice building with a green latticed window(pirate-style). The building also has two shingled roof pieces (great for western roofs). PIC - Amazon Crossing 6490: nix the 4-wheeler and croc, and you've got a good bridge that passes a small stream. A skull and some bones litter the ground. PIC - Rocky River Retreat 6552: a great hideout for bandits set in the mountains near a river. This set includes a cowgirl, horse, a neat little cabin, and some rocky mountains with trees. PIC - Extreme Team Challenge 6584: nix the vehicles and tent, and you've got a great mountain, river/mountain baseplate, and wood bridge. PIC - Guarded Inn 10000: add some U.S. Army flags to this set and you've got a great outpost for your Union troops. Sure, it may look a little "Dark Ages", but not too bad. PIC - Large Train Engine with Tender 10205: a must for a good western train layout. In fact, one also needs a few green passenger cars and the red MOT caboose to go with this. PIC Yee Haw! ;)

In regard to the engine, it may be the lack of stickers on my model. The stickers do enhance the appearance though, just like the MOT engines. I have the all black model which is reminiscent of the American 4-4-0s of its time. Although I do agree with you that that brown makes it look more colorful. I also have a couple green passenger cars which I do like. They're just not as playable since the roof does not come off easily. Here's the large all black engine with tender from some images taken a while back: And a gondola and caboose: Yes, MOT is probably a better model, but there's something special about 3225 that makes it a classic, and it really is more fun (may be the size) - I enjoy setting this one up. PS. I was just looking at LSAH (US) to see if the MOT engines are still available. All but the large black with tender is still available - I may buy the green.

I needed a small train for my western town layout and chose none other than 3225 Classic Train released in 1998. Sure, I could have chosen a MOT black steam engine with coal car, some green passenger coaches, and a nice red caboose, but there's something nostalgic about this little classic train. In fact, this train reminds me of the first 12V trains to hit blue track in the '70s (725 released in 1974 to be exact). This set originally sold for $66 U.S.D. available through LSAH (but I didn't purchase until 2002 over Ebay). I did get it MISB for $73 which was not a bad deal. This train includes four cars: a small engine, a tipper, a gondola, and a coach (some call a caboose); three mini-figs, a wheel-barrow, and a good variety of tools/cargo to load aboard the train. This set did include a motor but no track or speed regulator. The engine of this train reminds me more of a small German steam engine with its black color and red trim. It's build directly on the train motor using various small plates/bricks. The instructions do NOT include a way to add a light to the engine. Pictured without stickers: The yellow tipper: Tilting the tipper releases seven round 1x1 grey bricks: The brown gondola is very useful for transporting cargo. Included are two brown crates: one with 2 clear glasses and the other with a chain, a mail box with 1x2 mail plate, a garbage can, and a brown chest with a single 1x2 money plate. A view of the gondola from the top: The red coach is my favorite car. It has a removable roof and three green chairs for passengers. I did not attach stickers to both side walls. The windows are shaded blue which gives the car a cool look. Lifting off the roof makes this wagon very "playable" - fun to add passengers and watch them circle the track. The wheel-barrow to load the train: This set includes three figs: And the cargo: Summary Before purchasing, I read a few reviews which weren't very good. Some criticized this set for not containing track and a speed regulator (making it incomplete) - fine for those who already have it. This set truly brings back early memories of Lego trains. It's fun and fairly quick to build (compared to a BNSF or a Super Chief). The set includes some very useful train parts and nice colored elements. I enjoyed building this train and setting up a layout around my western town. I think this is a nice nostalgic set for those of you who may look for one on Ebay; and lastly, its a fun train to run with its figs, accessories, and "small" narrow gage look. Choo Choo!

I was just looking at some Western Town mocs and discovered a pretty nice site called Minimundo.de. There, they have a Western Town complete with a red 6-stud wide coach. Take a look at see how it compares with my red one. Comments appreciated. Western Town MOC PS. the site also has some nice castles, a galleon, and port town - Phes.

I think they would make very good Incas and natives too for those pirate islands. -
Sheriff's Showdown Pic Review

There were only three outlaws throughout the theme: The black shirt one in this set, the green-shirted card player, and the guy with the red shirt and suspenders. Other figs included the sheriff, the banker, wagon-driver, and the happy guy with white hat and blue pants. Every set came with the same outlaws. Here's some images of the different figs=> Wild West Mini-Figs -
I got a white one when I bought the Guarded Inn. Also included was a regular white horse.
